@Dave: Your dinner sounded wonderful, but it sure would make think twice about going back again.
Looking forward to the pics.
@anaconda469: You go girl! I get the early walks, I have been doing some of mine before sunrise to beat the heat.

Had a great weekend even though not all of the plans panned out. It was too hot on Sunday to enjoy going for a motorcycle ride to pre-ride our route for Saturday. But that's okay, I don't believe it has changed at all from previous years.
The parade on Saturday morning was pretty hot & steamy as well. Thankfully there was a nice breeze most of the time and the Grand Marshall and his wife were sitting up on the back so they were able to feel it. I also slowed down really slow when there was shade available and the marching band wasn't too close behind me. Anyway it was a lot of fun and I got lots of compliments on my car & goofy hat. lol I made sure to rev it up a few times where there were a lot of kids, too.
The live band was fantastic and played from 7-11pm with breaks They had more people down in front of the stage dancing than any other group I've ever seen perform there. They were an 80's tribute band so it was all music that I loved from my youth. Van Halen, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard, Journey, Ratt, Winger, Kiss....etc. Our group of 8 was sitting comfortably up on the grassy hill with our beverages and assorted carnival food....Porkchop-on-a-stick, pulled pork sandwiches, corn dogs/pronto pups, kettle corn, funnel cakes, mini-donuts, brats, ice cream....YUM. And the fireworks at 10pm did NOT disappoint. They lasted a good solid 20 minutes and the Grand Finale was spectacular. The band came back to do one last set and since a lot of the older people (older than me at 62) left after the fireworks, they turned up the volume and really rocked out! It was awesome! And for the most part, for pretty much every song they played, they sounded just like the original bands. And the concert didn't cost a penny.
