Is it still macaroni if you use shells? I dunno, it is no longer on my list of things I will splurge on, but my mouth waters at the thought of a good mac and cheese dish.
So wonderful you got DGS out for a good hike and he enjoyed it. You are a good grandad.
    Off to the races.

    Onward and downward ;-)

Surprised myself to discover I never checked in yesterday. One of the life skills acquired only in old age...

Lee, Colorado road trip at christmas with the girls sounds great.

Lots of errands today, will try to get in a walk before that starts. Very chilly again this morning.

Dave, hike with DGS sounds like a lot of fun.

Steve, glad you're starting to settle into retirement mode.

Sam, good luck with the arm healing and hopefully working more normal. Any more joint repairs in the works or are they done for now?

    Bob, Madagascar mac & cheese!?

    Good morning!

Dave, it sounds like you had an awesome hike with your DGS. That is wonderful!

I agree that Mac & Cheese is very good.

I have a counseling session this morning. I see her now once every other month. That is a huge improvement from when I was needing to see her every other week. It is hard for me to explain how much better I already feel since retiring.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Great fun with grandson yesterday. At 8 he already has a very mature appreciation for wild places and beautiful views.

One more day and night with the grands until we pass them back to their folks in time for the start of school. School actually starts today, but Wednesday and Thursday are given over to parent-teacher conferences, so the kids aren't in attendance until Friday. A pretty soft start to the academic year.

    Good Morning

Images of Mac & Cheese are dancing in my head.

Sam, it sounds like you are making progress with the shoulder.

We continue to make progress. Yesterday we ordered new screens for our windows. Today we have the joy of having the A/C guy come and resolve an LED light that I noticed was on when I changed the air filter. Research showed it was a "Status Indicator Light" that steady or flashing problem would indicate a problem. The list of of all that was nowhere to be found. It is barely mentioned in the book that came with the unit or online. System works fine, I have no idea how long it has been on but it looks like I get to write a nice check to get it resolved before the house can be sold.

OK OK it was more of a spiral shaped pasta and cheese but the good part was having it baked in a wood fired oven. My wife stabbed my hand with a fork several times as I tried to "steal" some more bites of that delectable dish in Madagascar which she ordered. They were out of potatoes au gratin but had this "pasta au gratin" dish as a substitute. Unbelievably good.

Hanging in there with the next 4 days to be in the 90s to perhaps 100 degrees tomorrow in PDX.
