π Challenge Week #2 Saturday-October 19, 2024
through Friday, October 25, 2024 π
We hope you are enjoying the 2024 5% Challenge with us!! We started by getting to know our teammates and getting outside. Please use the Chat Thread of your individual team or the 5% Challenge Community Team if you have any questions. We hope you are enjoying being outside. It's such a beautiful time of the year.
We will prepare for healthy eating habits this week by decluttering. Why don't we consider starting with our kitchen? This will help us prepare for healthy eating, which will be a theme throughout the Fall 5% Challenge.

Webster dictionary: decluttered; decluttering; declutters: to remove clutter from a room, an area, etc.
Decluttering your space is not just about getting organized; it's also a way to improve your mood and health. Here's why:
1. Reduces Stress and Anxiety: Unorganized spaces can trigger feelings of stress and anxiety. Decluttering your environment can bring peace of mind and clarity to your thoughts.
2. Improves Sleep: Messy spaces can lead to sleeping problems and hoarding disorders, according to a study by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. A clutter-free environment promotes better sleep.
3. Reduces Asthma and Allergy Risks: Piles of clutter attract pests and increase dust, mold, and mildew, which can worsen asthma and allergies. Decluttering helps reduce these risks.
4. Increases Productivity and Concentration: Studies show that cluttered environments drain cognitive resources and lead to reduced productivity and procrastination. A clean and organized space promotes better focus and concentration.
5. Good for Mental and Physical Health
Several studies have linked giving to charity as a result of decluttering to reduced stress, lower blood pressure, and improved overall health.
In conclusion, decluttering your environment has numerous benefits for your mental and physical health. It can relieve stress and anxiety, improve sleep, reduce asthma and allergy risks, increase productivity and concentration, and positively impact overall health.

βοΈTo score points this week
Declutter for 10 minutes and claim 10 points. We encourage you to declutter for more than 10 minutes a day, so for every 5 minutes of decluttering, please claim 1 point for a total of 5 bonus points. 10 minutes = 10 points; 5 x 5 =25 points (for a total of 25 additional minutes of decluttering)
Example: My Decluttering 10 + BONUS points 3 (for doing 15 mins more of decluttering at 1 point per minute) =13 points. Remember to declutter for at least 10 minutes each day. For every 5 minutes beyond the initial 10 minutes, you can earn 1 point, up to a maximum of 5 bonus points. For example, if you declutter for 15 minutes, you earn 10 points plus 1 bonus point for the additional 5 minutes. Max Bonus Points is 5 for adding 25 minutes of decluttering
Get Outside - 10 minutes, all or nothing. Score: 10 (or 0); all or nothing
We will record this on one thread. (example) Please use this format'

@DrewsAnna , so sorry you didn't feel well. Please always take care of yourself first. Once you are well you can resume slowly if needed exercise. We'd rather you recover first. Please.
Here's where to post your team points on the Rain Dancer team. Since you are not well I am going to tag @TEXASTITCHER .
