Hello everyone! My name is Jennifer and I’m a single 50 year old. I have an American Blue rabbit (her name is Kismet). I have 3 children in their 20s and they have all blessed me…I went from zero to 4 grandchildren in the past 18 months and #5 is due in February! Son Marcus and DIL Ashley have Sophie (18 mo) and are due February 15th (girl). Daughter Sydney has Oliver (9 mo). Daughter Hunter and SIL Michael have Byron (17 mo) and Brayden (5 mo).

I love to rubber stamp (I’m a Stampin’ Up demo) and make cards. I'm an active member of my church, and also love horror movies. I have worked in Community Development at my County for almost 20 years.

I have always been a yo-yo dieter, but mainly up. When I lose weight, I can never seem to keep it off for longer than a year. I have 58 pounds to lose (goal is 150). I revisited WW for the last 2 months, but I feel like it’s just gotten too complicated. So for November I am going to stick to calorie counting on here and try to focus on as much non-processed foods as possible. A friend took a picture of me on Saturday and it’s the most unflattering, depressing picture I’ve ever seen of me. I put my thumb over my face and it straight up looks like my mother’s body. It’s difficult as I’m a Negative Nancy, but I am trying to stay focused and positive. I have been sick and now I’m at the tail end where it’s the cough and stuffy nose. We’ll see if I can accomplish anything at the gym this evening.

@Cornanda this is what have. No where does it say I can log. The arrow in the right corner leads to a premium options. It’s all good. I only used it to make sure I looked the correct weight on Sundays.

Hi 👋 It was a beautiful sunshine day 💛 so, I took my best buddy out for a walk. The leaves on the tree's are beautiful and the mountains have fresh snow.

I'm sorry about the power lines.

I've been teaching myself C2C, so far I have only got the basic stitch down. I still have to learn how to carry, change colors and read the pattern (it's a little different the regular crochet.) I also have to learn how to read a graph. I'm going to make this heart dishcloth for practice before I tackle the blanket I want to make for my SIL.

    Y'all have a great evening ☺️

@19shmoo69 - it looks like your progress is set on steps, not weight. Tap where it says steps and a menu will appear so you can change it.

@drewsanna- Lovely pix, I want to go to there! What is C2C?

@vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on the loss! I'm sorry about the unflattering picture. I know how that is. Hey, we watched Speak No Evil...we liked it, it was messed up though lol. Thanks for the recommendation!

@DrewsAnna The leaves are absolutely beautiful. Thank you for posting! What is C2C?

Hi all. Not too much to say right now, it's a work day. I signed up for another photography club meetup, this one is shooting pictures of people and architecture in a beach town (not so much shooting the ocean or the beach, it's about the people and places). That will be this Saturday.

@Cornanda thanks. I’ve never had the option to change progress. It has always been weight. I did find it humorous that it gave me the option to share. Who am I going to share it with on here?

Keeping up with the November Down Dog challenge. 4 days of chair yoga! I had to disable standing for the last two day because I pulled something and had a cramp in the glute area. My nutrition has improved the last few days, but my calories have gone up! I need to work on that.

I am very "reactive" person. I've learned some methods that prevent stress from ruling my life. These are things that work for me. But it's really personal and individualized. Definitely not a one size fits all solution.
First, I get a notebook, and write down what's got me reacting. It's a complete brain dump. Writing helps me to work through the problems. I define the stress, write how it makes me feel, and decide if it's something I have any control over. 🤔 If I have some control over the situation, I write an action plan. If I have no control over it, I make tea. 🍵 I sit very quietly while I brew my tea, and let my mind absorb the silence and process the "no control" reality. My brain needs that space to stop obsessing about something I can't control.

I was hoping for a loss. Bummer.

I have been busy with the kids, house and everyday life. But I am doing well with logging. Not so much on my steps, I have been really tired. I think my iron storage or D is low again. Time for a check up.

I hope you all are doing well. I need to scroll back and catch up again.

I use the meditation app Calm a LOT. I listen to a sleep story most nights, bits of wisdom, and especially meditations to well... calm myself.

Goodbye October and Hello to November. I loved the results for last week a big shout out to the team. My new Trike is in Customs I don't know how long that will take, but I cleaned the area I'm going to be parking it in, but I will sweep one more time before it arrives, it's so dusty here. I've almost eaten the second box of Peanut Brittle, bad me.
I finished my contest room, judging starts Friday.
I can't use readers because I'm near sighted in my left eye and far sighted in my right. I use a magnifying glass to help with the small print. It's just one of those things that happens with age. One pair of glasses is ready but I'm waiting on the second pair before I go and pick them up.

@FushiaKat That's so exciting I hope your trike gets through customs fast! Your contest room looks amazing!

@AmbersWay Good call on getting a check up to see what's going on.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Oh my goodness I'll keep Amelia in my prayers as well as your whole family. Sending lots of love your way I can't imagine how hard this is for all of you.

@micaroo4 I love your answer how if it's in your control you write an action plan and if not you have a cup of tea, your advice or way of coping is very inspiring to me.

@morenin Oh no I hope that cramp is calming down so you can get back to your challenge.

@19shmoo69 If only we could “share” everything we can no longer post anymore to the IT team email accounts, that would inspire me to lose if they got emails saying I lost 1.2lbs and so on! I feel better when I get FR now since unless I send private messages or am active in the forums you can't really support your friends on here anymore. I really miss that.

HOW DO YOU USUALLY FEEL WHEN YOU'RE UNDER A LOT OF STRESS AND WHAT KIND OF THINGS DO YOU DO TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH DURING THOSE TIMES?

Good question and I've enjoyed reading everyone's responses so far. I just recently stopped being in fight-or-flight all the time and try to stay in a sleep/exercise/eating routine where I go to bed and wake up at the same time and eat around the same time. Exercise I usually do daily as it's been great for my mental health and makes me physically able to do things like shop for myself and get around without much help. I have to stay as calm as I can since increased stress almost always equals increased pain, if I'm hitting pain level 10s I have to spend time away from technology, people, and noise as my system is already overwhelmed and I'm grouchy and reactive. I tend to be ready to fight first so I get myself away from the situation to think it over until I'm able to calm down so I don't say or do something I'll regret. If I'm not sure if I'm overreacting to something I'll run it by my best friend or just give it some time. CRPS is real tied to emotions, if I'm nervous or upset my pain instantly gets worse and it's real exhausting, using my micro current to stimulate the vagus nerve and calm down and get out of fight-or-flight made that machine worth it for that alone especially when I was in a bad relationship and he lived with me.

@trooworld There's always interesting unique people in beach towns, that should be an awesome assignment. Aside of my best friend of the current people I know you would have LOVED living in Santa Cruz during my college years where I spent rainy days going in independent bookstores and hanging out at coffee shops! I can't wait to see your photos I hope you share them with us.

@DrewsAnna I love seeing the fall in your photos that has to be the prettiest state! I also don't know what C2C stands for but am guessing something about crochet?

@TeresaW2024 I'm so sorry to hear of Joe's dizziness, I'm so glad you thought to test him for a UTI and got him to Urgent Care fast.

    @baodell17724 Congratulations on 50lbs down!

Hi friends! Had a slow day. My favorite YouTube person for lower body seated cardio has pulled almost all of his videos trying to get people to pay $10.99 a month, I lost about half of my seated workout playlist so I'm bummed but I think that's too expensive and did those videos so often I can do the routines on my own. I got up early to vote, went to the store, and made a yummy turkey winter squash chili, it must've taken me an hour to peel a pumpkin and a buttercup squash for it though as the peeler broke on the pumpkin. Have a great Wednesday! I'm going to post a photo I took when I went to check up on my garden, there was a pumpkin festival there and they left them for wild animals, I keep coming across cats hanging out there and this one's sibling was hiding in the pipe at the time. 3mjly04j9q6s.jpg

@19shmoo69 - Agree 100% - those apps do tricky things when we are not looking! And yes, they took away our sharing here- still not happy about it.

@micaroo4 - writing helps me when I get upset too.

@vegan4lyfe2012 - I'm so sorry to hear about Amelia. Hugs!

@fushiakat- your room is beautiful as always and I'm excited for that trike to get here!

@katmary71- that is too much$$- but what a bummer for you. Cute kittie!

@vegan4lyfe2012 I'm so very sorry about baby Amelia. Thinking of you and your family.

@FushiaKat Cool room! Very detailed. I hope you win!

@Katmary71 Yes, I am looking forward to it! Santa Cruz sounds wonderful. I will share a few of the best photos! That's too bad that the YouTuber pulled the videos. Prepping a pumpkin is something I will never do, it's way too much work! lol I love the cat picture, he looks so chill!

DISCUSSION QUESTION: How do you usually feel when you're under a lot of stress, and what kinds of things do you do to take care of your health during those times?
When I am under stress, my mind cycles on worrying. I get very anxious and sometimes I get headaches. I didn't really learn healthy coping mechanisms from my parents. I tend to eat when I am stressed, but sometimes I do healthy things like making lists, diving into a craft project or talking to a friend.

Hi all. Not much going on today. Just trying to make it to Friday lol. We had air-fried chicken strips for dinner with these potato things from Sam's Club. It was easy and good.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Ohhhh no!! I am so sorry for baby Amelia’s diagnosis. I will pray for you all as you navigate these challenging times of waiting and healing. <3

@Katmary71 That is a bummer that you lost your chair yoga videos. That's a cute kitty pic! I wonder if the cats will eat the pumpkins. :)

Good morning! My sister and I stayed up way too late, drinking and watching the election. But I planned for it and will spend the day being lazy and puzzling. I’ve got that Christmas decorating fever, but I need the puzzle done so my table will be free for all my stuff. Who else is ready for the holiday season? :D

DISCUSSION QUESTION: How do you usually feel when you're under a lot of stress, and what kinds of things do you do to take care of your health during those times?
After my initial freak-out over whatever the stress is, I pray. Having a personal relationship with God means that I’m never alone in my stress, and the quicker I can dump it onto Him, the faster I calm down to deal with the stress. Also, being involved with the Diligent Mind Self-Care program, Jason Seib talks a lot about the difference between stress and stressors. We will always have stressors in our lives, but how we deal with the stress is entirely in our control.

@trooworld – Which Speak No Evil did you watch? The current one with McAvoy or the Denmark one? And I’m so glad you finally got your surgery date!

@FushiaKat – Fantastic contest room, as always – good luck!

Thank you everyone for the prayers for Amelia and our family. It’s hard working through all the emotions. I’m trying not to eat my feelings. Yesterday I only went over by about 150 calories, which is still below maintenance level, so I can be proud of that. NSV - This is the first road trip (2 1/2 hours to my son's) that I did not eat a single gas station snack on the drive there and on the way back I ate baby carrots.

This is yet another reason for me to get healthy…so I can help with Sophie while my son and DIL focus on Amelia during appointments and whatnot.

    Hi 👋

Just popping in real quick. C2C is working corner to corner instead of in a straight line or in a circle.

    di4zlm7yijt3.jpg

    frb0rzs6x8s3.jpg

The first one is a what I'm making now for practice, the second one is teaching me how to read the graph with a tutorial. After I'm finished with this one, I'm going to make a different one to learn to read the pattern without a tutorial. I looked at a couple patterns and they are a little different from the ones I'm used to.

    @Cornanda Thank you!

@trooworld Air fried chicken strips sound delicious! I'm impressed with how many full recipes you do with your schedule it's very impressive.

@TeresaW2024 Thanks! I'm not sure if cats will eat pumpkins they DO make treats with sweet potato for cats. I love your Christmas decorating I remember you showing it to us and being impressed. I love your response good things to keep in mind when stressed.

@vegan4lyfe2012 That's an awesome NSV great job not getting gas station snacks! You will definitely need to be healthy to keep up with all the kids and help with Sophie when needed. You also don't want to be the “couch” grandma!

@lisalisa123 I'm glad you're getting back on track, you're doing great!

@DrewsAnna You're doing a great job with the C2C! My aunt was telling me it's raining a lot there, is it doing so in your area too?

Hi team! Had a busy day, I went to the farm and got a lot of plants in. Some were seeds that had fallen on the floor and sprouted and I'd popped into containers, the one row is going to be a fun “mismash” of different veggies. We're going to use a mineral supplement for plants from the company of one of the supplements I use and I sprinkled it over the row for planting tomorrow so we can have one row of "Bloomin Minerals" carrots and one without. I stayed pretty late then came home and took a nap then checked on my garden bed and picked up a bunch of free compost. Funny the compost was behind an Ace Hardware in a drop off bin and another woman came, who would think you'd make friends shoveling compost?!?! Tonight I'm planning on a bath and some reading, I'm pretty worn out now! I also stopped to get cat food for Asher as he's scratching a lot and over-grooming where he has some bald patches. I've been letting him go in the garage and tried giving him a flea treatment just in case he picked up fleas but I'm thinking he's allergic to something in his food. Have a great Thursday!

@TeresaW2024 That's good you planned for it. Yay for a lazy day! I am ready for the holiday season to start but have done no decorating. I bought a beauty advent calendar from Macy's. I got one last year and loved it.

@vegan4lyfe2012 The Denmark one. Thank you! That's great you were able to eat below your maintenance level despite the stress, well done! And no road trip snacks. Brava!

@DrewsAnna Congrats on the loss! The C2C project is a good way to keep your hands busy and not eating.

@Katmary71 Yeah, these are the Just Bare Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Strips, they are available a lot of places but we get a big bag from Sam's Club. They are really good. We decided to do a week of (mostly) easy meals for a break, so don't be too impressed lol. That will be interesting to see the difference between the veggies you put the minerals on and the ones you didn't. Violet has been itching a lot. I think it's environmental allergies but I also decided to switch her food to a limited-ingredient food with salmon in it. We also started giving her Benadryl (not suggesting it for Asher!) and it's making a difference. I hope the switching food helps Asher.

    @askewcr Way to go!

HI all. We had Sam's Club chicken enchiladas last night, they were really good. My husband made refried black beans with them. Nice and easy meal. I need to try to sell my walking pad, I'm not going to use it (that's obvious) and it's just taking up space. I really regret getting it. I thought I could make myself use it but I realized I'm more of an outdoor exerciser. I HAVE been getting in my steps on the weekends and while at work. On the weekends, running around with my husband walking in our favorite neighborhoods.
