Good topic! We will be traveling for both Thanksgiving and Xmas this year, time to start thinking about how to control my eating when I am with friends and family.

We don't have a specific plan, yet, but we'll probably take a trip or two to visit two of our kids in the US. Maybe in December?

Travel is my biggest food-related challenge. I think that I've got my home-life set up to make eating healthy pretty easy, and so when I'm out of my element, it's much more difficult.

I'm already tired thinking about the holiday travel we'll be doing. It's been a busy fall already. But these are first world problems, and I'm thankful for the time and resources to be able to travel and spend time with family and friends.

I need to track consistently during the holidays. Another thing I'm planning to do is take a look at my weight history between Halloween through the end of the year. I think I have nine or ten years worth of weight data, and I believe that roughly 65 day period will tell an ugly story over the years. One of my stated goals is to NOT gain weight at the end of the year for a change. Another goal is to start 2025 feeling proud/good about taking care of myself. In order to do this, I've got to consistently track. I've been a bit lax about tracking lately. I definitely haven't gone off the rails or not tracked to "hide/ignore" things. I've simply allowed myself to get distracted while I've been out of town. Guess what? Being distracted/unfocused helped me get fat.

Home for Thanksgiving, but eating out at a restaurant. That’s a challenge in two dimensions - I’m a member of the clean plate club, and they have great carrot cake. Christmas? Dunno; I’ll either be home or out in Kansas.
