I am going to be off for awhile. I am going to have surgery tomorrow morning and don’t know when I’m going to be able to post again. Will post again when I can.

@Digger61 Prayers going up for you and everyone involved in your surgery! Will you be away for more than a few weeks? If so let me know and we can move you to support, I reported you wouldn't be weighing in but wasn't sure if we're talking a couple weeks or months. Thanks, let us know how you are when you get the chance we'll miss you!

@trooworld Oh my gosh I thought I was having major deja vu from the photos but I saw them on Facebook earlier, LOL! There's some seriously fun unique people at the beach I love them. I'm sorry to hear about your knee and am glad you were able to make it through despite the pain. I really hope in Spring that knee will be feeling way better!

@askewcr Oh no I'm so sorry to hear about your neck plus surgery being postponed! Could your knee be responding to the steriods? Steroids DO cause weight gain I tend to go up about 5lbs from them so hang in there. I hope the neck pain calms down fast. Are you thinking of not having surgery now?

WOOHOO Go Mission Slimpossibles in 1st place for the week, AWESOME JOB TEAM!!!!

@sleepygirl79 @19shmoo69 @askewcr Great job team leaders you all rock!

Hi team! Been kind of worn out all day, I didn't get as much done as I wanted but did some cleaning and yardwork and herb/seed harvesting and flower planting. I'm thinking I'm not working tomorrow as the practitioner I work with is a Veteran though we still have Bible study tomorrow night. I ordered 5lbs of salt to make herb salts to give as gifts, figured I'd try it first before ordering a huge amount. Think I'm going to head to bed early, Asher did his usual yowling all night he does after his nail trims and is starting to settle down. Have a great Monday everyone.

Sorry I have not been checking in. Life just seems to have been really busy this last couple of weeks between my grandkids, dogs and mom. I did get a good start on my basement, the huge dumping ground! Every they I spend at least 30 minutes down there sorting and at night I bring two photo albums up with me to sort out, I am making some progress.
I am getting to the gym at least two or three times a week and I'm running agility with my pups four days a week. I'm afraid I fell off the wagon checking in here nightly, by the time I sit down I am just pooped.
I am going to try really hard to catch up with some posts here tomorrow, during the day :-).
Here's to a great week ahead everyone!

Woo hoo! Look at us, #1 by % and pounds! Way to go, team! A special shout-out goes to @sleepygirl79 @19shmoo69 and @askewcr for leading the way.

@sleepygirl79 @morenin Congrats on the losses!

@Katmary71 LOL! Yes, the beach is full of characters. I'm glad I was able to capture some of them. Thank you. It's disappointing my knee is not better but not surprising. I hope so, too! I hope you get the day off today. How's Asher doing? I hope you slept well.

@laurelfit57 I was just thinking about you. I'm glad you checked in. That's good you are making progress on your basement. And good job getting to the gym!

Hi all. Yesterday I did some errands but other than that, I stayed home. My knee is still bothering me. I will need to let my doctor know, the next step is to get another type of injection but I am guessing that will have to wait until after my surgery. I made creamy chicken noodle soup for dinner and it was really good.

@laurelfit57 Hugs it's that time of year everything seems busier. I'm glad you made a dent in the basement that's great! Great job between the gym and agility with the dogs you're getting a lot of exercise. I'm glad you're still here despite being so busy, you're an important part of this group! You have a great week too!

@trooworld You're very strong and a fighter your knee getting in your way right now is temporary, keep reminding yourself of that and that you're doing all you can to have a more mobile future. I admire your strength!

@digger61 I'm so sorry the liver didn't work out for you, I know you must be disappointed. I hope the wait isn't much longer and the next one is perfect for you.

@txcritter69 No worries it's great to see you!

Hi friends! I'm going to share a fun To Do in November list, I'm definitely doing good with the pumpkin/winter squash recipe and am preparing to make herb salts for Christmas so the making box is checked too. It was raining all day, feeling pretty sore but have Bible study in a bit. I did my grocery shopping and worked out. Asher yowled the last two mornings and woke me up. I'm happy to say last night I did manage to grab him and got some hydrocortisone cream on him. I'm working on getting flowers in too. I gotta get ready to go have a great night and happy Tuesday. I start PT tomorrow to try and get more movement in my feet then will finish getting stuff for my roasted veggie dish for Friendsgiving later this week. 9akbayi529k1.jpg

@trooworld I love the sound of your photography class, it sent me down a rabbit hole seeing what was available here🤣. Love the shots that you took! Sorry about your walking pad, my son and son-in-law both use them, but they work from home so find that they can do it while they are on calls. I can't imagine coming home from work and getting on it. Ty gets the itchy as well, ever since I brought her home as a baby. I took her off all chicken and actually give her a teaspoon of coconut oil every day (I had tried other oils they didn't work), and it really seem to help.

@drewsanna that's awesome that you get support from insurance! I am so sorry that they are out of your medication, it is almost mid November though :-).

@katmary71 poor Asher! Feel so bad for the little ones when you can't figure out what is giving them the itchies.
You are always so busy, I can't get over being amazed that people are still planting things at this time of year!

    @Cornanda congrats on the loss!!

@Teresa2024 you decorate really early. I don't decorate until the end of November, but I'm not sure what I will put up this year with Ty in the house🤣

I am all caught up for now. I think what happens is I get a little behind and then find the thought of trying to catch up overwhelming. I know I don't have to catch up, just in my brain.
I did well on my tracking and gym last week, I was surprised when I didn't show a loss yesterday.
I have been trying to do two or three photo albums every night. I'm just taking all of the pictures out of them and sorting them into piles. Each one of my kids has a pile and I think what I will do is take the best out of those and make them into a digital photo album. I will also give them all of the other pictures so if they want they can go through those. I laugh at some of my old pictures, remember the days of printed pictures🤣. I have come across a few very special ones. My ex-husband had a niece and nephew who were siblings and had a pretty tough life. They were in and out of foster care, not much stability. I only saw them twice, but took pictures of them. I used to be that annoying person who took pictures of everybody. His nephew passed away when he was about 18. I found a picture I took of them when they were about six and seven years old and then two more when they were about nine and 10 years old. I reached out to Lyndsay (his niece Who is now about 40), through Facebook and I took a picture of the picture so I could upload it to Facebook for her. I asked her if she would like the originals. She told me she had no pictures of her brother at all. I will be sending those pictures off in the mail to her tomorrow.
The last two days I have just been consumed with the basement of those pictures. I got a little laundry done this evening and was watching Vannie and Ty laying very close together, couldn't figure out what they were doing. They had a yak stick that they were sharing between the two of them. One would chew on it for about a minute then pass it to the other and on and on it went 🤣.
Hope everybody had a great day!

Check In: Hi Slimpossibles! Just wanted to let everyone know I did a tough thing today: I spent 30 minutes trying on my clothes and I am moving the clothes that do not currently fit out of my closet. Some I am keeping, some I am donating. I realized that sorting through clothes that don't fit on a daily basis just makes me feel really sad and ashamed. I don't need to beat myself up over it.

I did another tough thing and I exercised for 30 minutes! Felt great to take a shower afterwards.

@digger61 I'm sorry it wasn't viable. I hope the next opportunity is a good match.

@Katmary71 Thank you! I am trying to perservere. What a fun bucket list for Nov! Thanks for sharing. I love the Fall. Why was Asher yowling? Is it the allergies? I'm glad you were able to get cream on him. I hope the PT helps.

@laurelfit57 It IS fun! And people are so welcoming and willing to give tips. Thank you. Yeah, after long commutes and a long workday, I get home and do NOT want to set that up and use it. Even if I didn't have to move it in place (which I do, there's no room to leave it flat), I wouldn't use it. That's good to know about the oil. I did take them off a chicken-based dry food and now they are on salmon-based. I'm also giving her Benadryl. I don't know which is helping, but something is helping as she is a lot less itchy. What if instead of trying to catch up, you just jump in where you are that day? Good job with the tracking and gym! That's a good idea to make a digital photo album. I got rid of all my albums a few years ago, I scanned the important photos and ditched photos I didn't want. It made me feel lighter. That's really nice that you have a picture of Lyndsay's brother and can send it to her. I bet she will appreciate it. You are the annoying person who takes pictures of everything...that's me, too lol. You definitely need to find a photo club! I found mine on Meetup.com. Awww, that's cute that the pups were sharing a yak stick! Mine would be fighting over it lol. Great pics. Thanks for sharing!

@bobboyardee Good job sorting through your clothes. No, you don't need to beat yourself up. You are doing something about your health and the way the clothes fit now. And great job exercising! WOOT WOOT!

Hi all. I was so tired at work yesterday, I just wanted to go home (but I didn't). I can't wait to get my sleep apnea mask and see if that helps me sleep better. I hope it does. I contacted my doctor about my knee but she was out for a few days. Someone in her office responded I should wait until after my surgery before we do anything about my knee. So, I will hobble on. Speaking of clothes that don't fit, I have gained a little weight and am finding it tough to fit into my clothes but don't want to buy new ones since my surgery is so soon. If someone said that here, I would tell them to go thrift store shopping but I cannot find clothes that fit at thrift stores. Luckily, I have some clothes that still fit.

@digger61 Praying that you will be able to receive a viable liver very soon!

@Katmary71 I Love the November bucket list! Poor Asher! I hope he feels better soon. I hope the PT goes well for your feet. :)

@laurelfit57 I do decorate early. I wasn’t, but the moment the time changed and it went dark and dreary, I needed my sparkle and lights! :) Going through all those family photo albums is a huge chore. How nice of you to contact your niece to share photos of her brother. I love that Vannie and Ty were sharing a yak stick! My Maggie would never share such a treasure. :D

@bobboyardee, Good for you cleaning out your closet and finding what to keep, save, and donate. I walk into mine often and think about doing that, but then I turn around and walk out. :D

@trooworld, I hope the sleep apnea mask will help. Do you worry about hating it on your face at night? I don’t think I could wear a mask the way I toss and turn all night. I know you're so tired of knee pain. Hopefully, once your surgery happens and the weight loss starts, you will feel better and maybe won’t have to have knee surgery, too. Look on Amazon for cheap but cute clothes. I’ve had to do that since I can’t fit into the fall/winter stuff I wore last year. :|

Good morning! I know I’ve been MIA, but I’ve been so busy. It’s budget planning time at the church, and I had to answer a bunch of questions for our finance committee. Then, the pastor called me and gave me a list of things to do. On top of all that, I’ve been decorating the house for Christmas. Today, I have to take Joe to the doctor, see if my glasses are finally in, go to Hobby Lobby for a few things to finish the decorating, and then go to Costco for turkeys and stuffing for Sunday’s potluck. I’m tired and just want to finish everything and start a new puzzle! :)

Question: U.S. friends: How are you going to handle Thanksgiving?

I start out by having a big church Thanksgiving potluck. This year, I’m making turkey and stuffing. For home, I don’t know what I will make. Maybe enchiladas. :D

I’m hopping back in to the conversations on page 3…

    @davors19 @Cornanda @sleepygirl79 @morenin – Nice losses!

@trooworld – So glad you don’t have to do PT anymore. Your days are so packed already! Love the photographs…especially black & white.

@baodell17724 – That sucks that the shots took you out like that. I hope you’re feeling better by now. That meme is scary! Hahahaha!

@morenin – I’m sorry I don’t have any words of wisdom…but hugs, thoughts and prayers during this rough time.

@Katmary71 – I’m so sorry with all the Asher issues. Let us know what root veggie recipe you pick out – my church is having our Thanksgiving potluck on Sunday and I haven’t figured out what I’m taking yet. I’d also love to know more about your herb salt gifts.

@digger61 – I am so sorry you have to continue waiting for a new liver. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

@askewcr – I’m so sorry you’re having all these pains. I hope the doctors can figure out the best way to take care of the disks so you can get your knee taken care of, too.

@laurelfit57 – Good job sorting through the basement. It’s wonderful that you’re able to send those photos to your niece. I’m sure she’ll cherish them.

@bobboyardee – Good job sorting clothes. I need to do that, too.

I had a fantastic weekend visiting my niece and her family in Colorado Springs AND I actually stayed within my calorie budget the entire time! I really do mimic people I’m around when it comes to food. They are a healthy family and I found myself eating appropriate amounts and not a bunch of snacking. For my last night there, her husband smoked portobellos on the grill. He used truffle oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic salt and salt and pepper. Slow and low for over an hour. We had sauted asparagus and a rice/quinoa blend on the side. Just before serving, my niece sprinkled on some black garlic finishing salt. Holy smokes, was it ever delicious! Here’s a picture of the Rocky Mountains from their driveway. So beautiful!
    ki3ezokhea2u.jpg

U.S. friends: How are you going to handle Thanksgiving?
The same way I’ve handled it for the past several years…I make stuffed acorn squash, roasted carrots and mashed taters. I eat it like any other meal…trying not to stuff myself.

My brother likes to host Thanksgiving. I will bring harvest bread and pies. Probably apple, pumpkin and cherry/cranberry pies. No doubt he'll make each of us take a big plate of food home with us, and I usually divvy it up into smaller meals and freeze. If I have to bring home pie, I'll save a piece for Rich and bring the remainder to work to get rid of the extra.

Hi everybody. My new Trike will be here Thursday now, they keep moving the date. I did win First Place in the Halloween Ride Building contest. We have 3 contests a year and I think this is my fourth year winning first place in every contest. I love the trophies.

The power company is swapping out our wooden poles for metal ones, so the power is off today but we have a generator, so I don't need to worry about that.

My friend sent me 2 giant paints by number posters, the print so tiny even with my new glasses. I will give it a try, my husband mounted one onto a wooden board for me. After they are finished, I don't know what I will do with them.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

@laurelfit57 Interesting what you said to Chris, there's a big surge in chicken allergies with cats my gues would be it's the same with dogs too. I listened to a veteran about removing chicken and supplementing with Omega 3s which sounds similar to what worked for Ty. The winter stuff is going strong, I just harveted a bunch of kale, Swiss chard, and spinach for my soup. I agree with you it IS overwhelming to get behind here! What a wonderful gift you're giving to your niece! LOL seeing the pups hare like that too cute!

@bobboyardee Hi there! I like how you're thinking with the clothes, no more feeling bad when you go in your closet. You're crushing the hard things today!

@trooworld I really hope the sleep apnea mask improves your sleep so you can get better rest. I can't imagine commuting so far on little sleep. I'm glad you have some clothes to get you through to surgery. Tough call on whether or not to get anything now.

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO HANDLE THANKSGIVING?
I have a friendsgiving this week and it's with the functional medicine practitioner so everything will be healthy which is a relief. For Thanksgiving we're going to my mom's friend's house and I'll probably just eat a little of everything then get back to it. I did get a turkey breast for me to have at home since I won't have leftovers from Thanksgiving.

@TeresaW2024 Thank you! Very busy day I hope you get everything done! You need a good night to work on a puzzle with the cold weather settling in!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Here's the Roasted Balsamic Roasted Root Veggieshttps://everydayfamilyeats.com/balsamic-roasted-root-veggies/: I'm doubling it and just using it as a guide but will go by taste for the herbs. I picked up a turnip, fennel, golden beets, and kohlrabi to add in it and the cashier had no clue what they were so it was a long checkout between those and other veggies then the bulk bin dried fruit and seeds. Thank you I'm hoping Asher's better soon. How nice to be around a healthy family! Yum I want to go there and eat! Beautiful photo of the mountains.

@FushiaKat Woohoo I hope you're able to ride the trike Thursday! Congratulations on winning the contest! Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi friends! Made it to PT this morning, I'll have to do the exercises twice a day which will be a pain. I'm going to do a short workout after dinner as I didn't have time to earlier. I have ham and bean soup with kale cooking and it smells delicious. I have to do some HOA stuff tonight so my plan is catch up here, bath, soup, then a pot of tea while reviewing a bunch of paperwork, Have a great Wednesday!

@trooworld that's a great idea to look on Meetup, I will try it this weekend. Isn't it funny how much we have to look after our little fur babies, I swear sometimes they are more complicated than human babies🤣. I missed that you were getting a sleep apnoea mask, when my son got his, it took him a while to get used to it. He actually switched from the original mask and now says it makes a huge difference. Do you have a definitive date for your surgery yet? I know I don't have to catch up, it's in my crazy head.

@Teresaw2024 I would find your job with the church so stressful, good for you! Seriously Teresa do you guys have a potluck every weekend lol

@Vegan4lyfe2012 It sounds like you had a great time in Colorado Springs, good on you for keeping within your calorie budget! It is always so helpful when you are with people who have a healthy lifestyle and of course it's always lovely to have somebody else do the cooking! It looks absolutely gorgeous there!! Good for you losing when you were away

@Fushiakat Fingers crossed for you that your trike will actually arrive Thursday!

@katmary71 it seems that more and more dogs have allergies nowadays as well. I hear more and more people taking their dogs off chicken and it does the trick. My vet actually gave Ty the omega threes and it didn't do the trick, it was my groomer who told me about the coconut oil, honestly I wasn't that hopeful when I tried it, but it seemed to do the trick. With our fur babies we just have to keep trying to get it right :-). I also was supposed to be doing exercises from PT twice a day over this last week. It was such a crazy week, I'm afraid I didn't even manage once a day all the time. I'm usually pretty good about it. I'm sure you will do better at it than I did.

I am afraid I did not get down to my basement at all today, nor did I get any pictures sorted. I haven't slept well the last few nights and seem to be dragging my heels today. I actually took a Tylenol nighttime tonight, see if I can get back on track.
I did not make it to the gym today but got lots of exercises in with the dog. Had a late night class with the dogs didn't make it home until after eight. Vannie and Ty sharing that yak stick was hilarious. when I first got high I never in 1 million years would have thought that was possible. Then he still gets after her, she is the big sister in charge, but for the most part they get along great.
It is almost 10 o'clock and I have to get to bed so I hope everybody had a great day today

I'm a widower since 2001. From 2001 - 2017 I'd still cook just myself "a full-turkey dinner and all the trimmins". Since my MS diagnosis in 2018, that's too difficult. Since 2020 a local church brings residents here a full 2-servings of a Thanksgiving Dinner each which they drop-off at each of our apartments. It's quite good, so I will do that, again. EXCEPT, THIS year I will ration out all the "fat foods" over the whole week, and definitely make sure I get more than my 2 hours of exercise in each day during that time!!!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you, me too! Well, there are three different kinds of masks: the full on your face type, the type that just covers your nose, and the kind that is like two prongs that go in your nostrils and the rest of your face is exposed. The last kind is the one they recommended for me, so I'm hoping I'll be fine. I am claustrophobic so any other kind might freak me out lol. I AM tired of knee pain! I do think it will help to lose weight. Good idea for cheap but cute clothes, thanks! It does sound like you've been busy, wow! I hope you can start your new puzzle today. We sometimes do enchiladas or lasagna for holidays but usually for Christmas.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Girl, me too! Thank you! I forgot you were going on a trip. I'm glad it went well. The portobellos sound yummy! What a nice dinner. They know how to eat, huh? lol That's a beautiful picture. CONGRATS ON THE LOSS!

@micaroo4 I love the idea of freezing smaller portions of Thanksgiving food.

@FushiaKat Congrats on your first place win! I hope you enjoy your new Trike.

    @Jactop Congrats on the loss!

@Katmary71 Me too! I am so sick of being groggy all day. And yes, it's not fun driving like this. That's good your friendsgiving will be healthy. Twice a day, wow that's a lot! I hope the exercises help.

@laurelfit57 I hope you find something, I bet you will! Yes, they are (at least sometimes) more complicated lol. I'm hoping I'll get used to the CPAP mask easily, there are three kinds (you probably know that from your son), the one I chose is just two prongs that go in my nostrils, nothing else is on my face. My only concern is I am claustrophobic so I still may have a hard time. My brother has a CPAP and said the first time he wore it, he felt like he was being waterboarded which definitely doesn't sound fun! I do have a definite date: Friday, December 20th. Right before Christmas!!! I'm going to have a lousy Christmas but a fantastic 2025! LOL I hope the Tylenol nighttime helped. I'm glad the dogs get along good. I got woken up in the middle of the night the other night by getting bit by one of the dogs: Violet accidentally stepped on a sleeping Daisy which caused them to get into it.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: How are you going to handle Thanksgiving?
I don't count calories on any Thanksgiving but this Thanksgiving, I'm really going to let loose: it will be the last Thanksgiving that I can enjoy in the same capacity and who knows what future Thanksgivings will be like? We are planning to have all my favorite holiday foods there. I will likely have seconds.

Hi all. I woke up at 3:30 this morning and since I usually wake up at 4, I just decided to stay up rather than fight myself to fall asleep again. For dinner, since my stomach was kind of upset, I had some more of that chicken noodle soup that I made the other night. It's really good. I think I'm experiencing some mild depression right now. I don't want to be around people at work and just want to be left alone.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I’m so glad you had a great time in Colorado with your niece and her family! I lived in Denver when I was a teenager, and I know how beautiful the Rocky Mountains are. Good job on eating healthy and staying in your calorie range. :)

@FushiaKat, Congratulations on winning first place in the contest! That is awesome, and with all the hard work you put into it, you must feel amazing. :) It is great that you have a generator, so you don’t have to stress about not having power. I used to love doing paint-by-numbers when I was a kid. I have looked at that diamond art and thought about trying it out, but puzzles own my heart. :D

@Katmary71 ham and bean soup sounds wonderful! Making flavored salts is such a great gift idea! How many will you end up making? :)

@laurelfit57 It sure feels like we have a potluck every week. :# The goal is to have something once a month for our people, and I sure wish it didn’t revolve around potlucks! Our Thanksgiving potluck is the big one that gets the most people coming out, so it should be fun and a lot of work for us who have to organize and clean up. I hope you start sleeping better! <3

@trooworld Oh, that mask might not be so bad. I was worried you would have to wear that full face mask. I’m sorry you are feeling a little depressed. You have a lot going on, and the surgery has to be all-consuming in your mind. Be good to yourself and tell people to leave you alone. ;)

Good morning! Joe and I had a nice day out yesterday, but he got too tired to finish everything I wanted to do and had to come home for a nap. This morning, my sister and I are returning to Hobby Lobby for a few things I still want and then to Costco for turkey and side dishes for the potluck. Then, I will come home and mop the floors. One of my problems is that I LOVE glitter, and most of my Christmas has it, so the cleanup is a pain. I looked at Joe yesterday at lunch, and he had glitter on his nose! :D I’m making chili and cornbread for dinner tonight, so that will be yummy! Y’all have a great day! :)
