@laurelfit57 Do you mix the coconut oil in food? It’s tough cutting out chicken, you’d be surprised how many other flavors have chicken liver or something in them. Not surprising both dogs and cats are struggling with chicken, all you have to do is see the state of the on sale chicken breasts to know they’re giving those poor animals unnatural stuff to grow so big. I hope you get to those PT exercises! A tip since I had to do stuff 2vs a day a day after surgery- Do the morning ones then if you don’t get to the second time at least you did them once.
@baodell17724 What an awesome church to bring two servings of Thanksgiving dinner. That’s one of the downfalls at not making it yourself is no leftovers. Your way you get to not be exhausted, keep the house clean, and enjoy a little each day with how you’re spreading it out.
@trooworld Your response to Teresa made me laugh I’m claustrophobic too and don’t mind the two prong one but was thinking I’d probably wake up confused about the other masks and have a panic attack if I had to use one especially the first week or two. It’s bad enough with the dentist works on me, hahaha. I have a vision of you “really letting loose” this Thanksgiving with a piece of pie in each hand! Hugs I hope this mild depression lets up.

@TeresaW2024 On the salts I’m not sure how many I’ll do, I bought a 12-pack of Ball jars but have a bunch more too. I may do a trial run with basil since I just harvested a bunch then for gifts I’ll do a Mediterranean blend. Have fun at Hobby Lobby and Costco! Hey if you see any jar labels that are cute at Hobby Lobby let me know (probably missed ya though). Yum enjoy that dinner I’ve been craving cornbread.
Hi friends! On early as I have a board meeting tonight. I went to the farm this morning and got in two rows of Bok Choy. Ran to Dollar Tree looking for jar labels with no luck and just finished my HOA stuff. I have some board stuff to do before the meeting catching up on emails and proposals. It’s gloomy and ugly outside looks like it’ going to rain at any time. Hope you all have a great Wednesday and Thursday!

@Trooworld oh wow! That is a bit torturous, surgery just a few days just before Christmas😳. But you are right, what a kick off to 2025!! That must have been a shocking way to wake up🤣. It is so good that you are so self aware with your mental health♥️

@trooworld your potlucks actually sound really good and like a lot of fun! It Forest surprise me at all that you like glitter!

@katmary71 that never ended occurred to me snout what they are doing to chicken, that makes sense. Ty actually just eats the coconut oil this is what I use https://a.co/d/0mhcDui. Vannie is not a fan but Ty really likes it. I will definitely try to get those exercises done first thing, I have been forcing myself before bed but not getting all of them done.

I did get a good sleep last night but I still seem to be dragging my heels. I'm afraid that I was so involved in my basement that my food was all off today and ended up starving by 5 then I over ate😩
    Tomorrow is a new day

@TeresaW2024 Yeah I hope not. Gosh, I hope I don't have to wear the full face mask, but I still could if this one doesn't work out: there are three, and one should work, right? Thank you! <3 I love glitter, too! Yes, it's a pain to clean up glitter lol. That's funny Joe even had glitter on him. I decided to make Cincinnati chili this weekend, it's one of my favorite things and I won't be able to have it for a long time after my surgery! I hope you enjoyed your chili.

    @DrewsAnna Congrats on the loss!

@Katmary71 LOL yes, same here. I don't want to feel like I am being waterboarded! :D HAHAHA it's more likely I'll have a big plate of stuffing and noodles...I like sweets but I can do without them. I'll probably have one piece of whatever the dessert is I make. :) Thank you re: the depression. I hope it doesn't rain, I know that affects your pain level.

    @lislisa123 Congrats on the loss!

@laurelfit57 I know, right? LOL And to stay with my MIL for 3-4 days right after my surgery, man it's going to be tough lol. I do like and love my MIL but it's just I want to be in my own home. But no, my husband said I have to stay there because he can't take time off work (he works in accounts payable and it's the end of the year for him at work, which means he's going to be very busy). And yes, I was shocked by the bite lol. Thank you. Sorry you were dragging, I hope today/tonight goes better.

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What do you need to vent about?
I'm angry that my husband can't take time off work to help me recover from my surgery. I'm a bit hurt, too. I don't see why he can't work from home and help me out. Instead, he is shipping me off to his mom's house where I'll be forced to fart and burp in front of her (that's what happens right after surgery because of all the gas they pump into your abdomen so they can have room to work). I'll be humiliated. He said I have to get over it. I am very unhappy with him right now. I understand to some extent: he is not disciplined to work well at home. But he told me when I told him when my surgery was that he would work from home and now he's changed his mind. Ugh. Thanks for letting me vent.

Hi all. A coworker gave me a pre-surgery gift, a pair of earrings with an array of iridescent butterflies on them. I wore them yesterday, they are very happy earrings. I'm still depressed. Still not sleeping well and still waiting on my CPAP machine to ship. That's about it for me.

@Katmary71 Yup you missed me! :D I’m sure they do have cute jar labels. Or try looking on Etsy for something unique.

@trooworld I am so sorry your husband isn’t as supportive as you need. I hope you can change his mind and he will realize that having his support and care is very important. And if he won’t, you will have to do what needs to be done. The most important thing is taking care of yourself and protecting your emotions. <3

Good morning! It’s cold and rainy today, and I’m so happy I don’t have to go out. I had a fun day yesterday shopping with my sister. We went to Hobby Lobby, Costco, lunch at Chick-fil-A, Marshalls, and then back to Hobby Lobby for a giant snowman I couldn’t get out of my mind and heart. <3 Today, I will finish cleaning up the house and mop the floors. I will take some pics later and show them off tomorrow. :)

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: What do you need to vent about?
I can't think of anything right now, but I might be back before the end of the day! :D

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: WHAT DO YOU NEED TO VENT ABOUT? There's something serious going on with the charity I don't even want to get into we had a heated board meeting last night, I started to and deleted it. Meanwhile I ordered 70 plus pound of cat litter to change all the litter in the house from one that may be causing allergies and it's two days late and hasn't even left the warehouse yet.

@laurelfit57 Thank you for the coconut oil recommendation I saved it to a list. I'm not sure if I can get Asher to eat it for the most part he doesn't like treats.

@askewcr Oh good I'm glad you're feeling better!

@trooworld Hugs I'd be upset too. I love the gift of butterfly earrings what a sweet co-worker!
I'm sorry the depression isn't lifting I hope it does soon.

@TeresaW2024 I DID miss @TeresaW1020, haha and am glad you came back! Wow that's a serious shopping spree glad you got the snowman and good luck with the cleaning. Almost decorating time!

Hi team! We had a late and stressful board meeting last night, still debating how I'm going to handle things. The Friendsgiving went well and my roasted veggies were a hit. I have enough for another sheet to roast in the fridge so I'll be eating them for awhile. I made basil/lemon zest/garlic salts, they're in the oven now. Unfortunately I think I broke my food processor right before I was going to make a bunch of salts which will make doing a big batch a pain! Have a great Friday friends.

@trooworld - I would be upset about that too.

@Katmary71 - I hope that things work out with the charity- doesn't sound fun. I hope Asher is on the mend soon. Am interested to hear how the salts turn out.

@TeresaW2024 - a snowman that captured your heart.... :) And glitter always shows up in weird places after I decorate too

I don't have a lot of time, so I'll quit there. Going for a little lunch and holiday shopping with DD tomorrow. Really looking forward to it.

Venting: My hip is doing pretty good but every time I try to add the full amount of step aerobics back into my routine, it acts up again. I've tried multiple things like slower speed, less risers, no step at all etc. I just took two weeks off and now I'm trying again. I really don't want to give this up as it's the cardio I really love- learning the routine keeps my mind active so I'm not thinking about how long it will be until I am done. :) PS: I am still doing my PT exercises- at least 4 times a week- which was recommended when I was discharged.

@TeresaW2024 Thank you. He's actually very supportive, he just apparently can't work from home. :( I'm glad you had fun shopping with your sister, that sounds fun! A giant snowman, I want to see a pic of that!

@Katmary71 Sorry abou thte charity drama. I hope it gets worked out. Thank you. Yes, the earrings were super sweet, they are really me and she is very thoughtful! I think the depression is lifting (slightly). I"m glad the Friendsgiving went well. I've never been to a Friendsgiving! I don't have enough friends in town. Your salts sound good. Do you cook with them? That's too bad about your food processor.

@Cornanda Thank you. He makes it seem like I am being a baby lol. I'm sorry about your hip. That's good you are still doing your exercises. Have they brought up a hip replacement?

Hi all. Yay for Friday! I work from home today so I don't have to interact with anyone I don't choose to lol. I got a notice that my CPAP machine shipped and will be here Tuesday at the latest. I am making mushroom and cheese ravioli in a cream sauce tonight for dinner. It will be nice and easy.

@Cornanda Thank you I hope things work out too. The salts actually came out pretty well I did two cloves of garlic, 1 lemon's worth of zest, basil, and sea salt. My food processor is on the fritz though o that's throwing a monkey wrench into my Christmas making salts plans but I love how the batch came out. How frustrating about your hip I hope you're able to ease back into it.

@trooworld Well shoot maybe you need to throw the Friendsgiving?! I don't really have enough friends to throw one myself. I'm planning on cooking with the salts to eee if they'd make good gifts. Yum enjoy the ravioli!

@TeresaW2024 I love your decorating your house looks great!

Hi team! Worked out, went to the store, then worked until a little while ago. My neighbor invited me to go see their friend's band so I need to get dressed up and have some coffee. I really hate going places as night! Luckily it's only a couple miles away, figure I'll go for a little and come home I'm real tired and tomorrow we're cleaning up the community beds. Have a great weekend everyone.

@TeresaW2024 I am guessing until Christmas day. I really hope not longer. I don't want to go at all but I understand why I have to. Yeah, I work a lot...less hard...when I work from home lol. Dinner was yummy! :) How's Maggie doing? Life definitely keeps you on your toes! I LOVE your decorating, it's so classy and elegant! Mine, it's a mess lol. All of your snowmen are cute but Jack is super cute. Thanks for sharing!

@Katmary71 LOL I don't have enough friends here. I've got...if I count my work friends...4? But one is a vegan so he wouldn't eat what we cooked lol. Another has food sensitivities and doesn't like salt so that's another one that wouldn't eat much. HAHAHA I bet the salts will be good. Dinner was yummy! I'm trying to enjoy all the pasta I can now since I won't be able to eat pasta for a while after the surgery. ;) I hope you had fun watching the band.

@baodell17724 Boo for being sick but YEAH WOO HOO on that loss!

Hi all. I posted my walking pad on Facebook Marketplace and it sold a few hours later. We have to deliver it though, it's for a senior that needs exercise. She lives on the second floor so that should be fun lol. But I'm glad I sold it and that it's going to a good home. I let her have it for half of what I paid. But that's the going rate nowadays for a lightly used one. I found out one of the medications I take is likely the cause of the spending issues that I have: they found out 5 years ago that it causes shopping addiction. I can't get off this medication but my doctor is adding in a medication to counter the effect. BUT...I am not going to start it until after my surgery.

@baodell17724 Not how you'd prefer to lose it but wtg! Are you feeling any better?

@trooworld LOL funny mixture of a friend group who definitely would NOT make dinner fun! Definitely enjoy the pasta while you can! The band was good, I went from 8-9 and was in bed by 9:30. Wow congratulations on selling the walking pad so fast! I love who it's going to that's definitely going to good use with her. That's fascinating about the medication I'm glad your doctor has a way to counter it's effects. It's frightening to think of medications causing issues like that. On a funny note I was thinking of who'd I invite if I threw a Friendsgiving and it would be very close to what you would deal with plus two neighbors who don't like each other to make it spicy! I just went to one for the first time last year, one of the women on the board of the charity made soup the night after Thanksgiving and had a bunch of friends over which was fun. I'm flattered I'm being included I didn't really have close friends during my bedridden years.

    @Digger61 How are you doing?

Hi friends! The cleanup today went well, we worked for 4-5 hours. I pulled a lot of weeds then worked on a woman's beds who has long-haul COVID and has trouble getting there these days and cleaned out both her beds, harvested all the dry flower heads, made a big bouquet of flowers for her with her flowers, then got all the veggies together (butternut squash, tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers). It made me happy knowing it would brighten her day. A few farm friends came and helped (including my crush) and are interested in getting beds now. The garden club bought two beds and the vice president was there and helped out. I came home, took a bath, and just woke up and cleaned the kitchen and came on here. Tomorrow I have a lot of work to get done it's going to be a long day. Have a great Sunday team!

    Good morning Slimpossibles!

Rich and I are going to North Conway today for a bit of shopping. His idea, not mine. I'm not a big fan of shopping, but he loves it. He's a browser. I'm a hunter. It's a long drive (I think it's 2 hours; he says 90 minutes). He wants to have lunch there too. Thankfully, he's agreed to be back on the road by 2:00pm so we are home before dark.

Unfortunately, I won't be getting my 6 miles of walking today. In 2023, my total miles for the year was 2203. My personal best was 2020, with 2407 miles. So far, I'm almost at 2400 for 2024.... so way ahead, and I will easily make 2500 - possibly before the end of November!

@trooworld- Glad you sold the walking pad- boo/hiss- on the medication that makes you shop- glad there is a remedy. :( My hip problem is from tendonitis, not the joint. I guess they are just less inflamed and not all done yet. Being patient is hard!

@TeresaW2024 - Your snowman is SO cute and I love your decorations. Just beautiful!

@Katmary71 - Thanks- maybe I just need to find the right way to ease into it? Update me again when you have cooked with the salts. This is very interesting, although I would not have the skills to make these. How sweet of you to take care of that woman's garden!

@baodell17724 - Congrats on the loss- hope you're feeling better now.

@micaroo4 - I hope you enjoy your hunting (shopping) day!

Sunday! Weather is nice and cool here in FL- 54 this morning. Today I will finish some cleaning and other tasks, including a bit of yard clean up. Fill up the bird feeders. Take a walk, do PT and then sit down to watch some football. I'm going to mess with a crochet project while watching. Yesterday, woke up to a good amount of evidence that Gus has GI upset.... FUN! He is on the mend now. I boiled him some hamburger and rice and we are easing back into regular food. I think he might need a bath today.... for obvious reasons, but also because his beard is sticky with rice. Had a lovely afternoon with DD yesterday- had sushi and a nice talk. Wandered around shopping for Christmas and found a few cute things and some gift items.

@trooworld That is nice that you sold your walking pad to someone who can use it. Wow, that is wild that a medication can cause your shopping addiction. It's a bummer that I can’t use that as an excuse. :D My niece told me last week, as I was giving her some lamps to sell on Facebook Marketplace, that I must like to buy stuff just so I can give it away and buy new. I admit that it can look that way at times. :) Maggie is good, but I can’t keep her from jumping on and off the sofa. I bought a long bench cushion that is 3 inches thick to lay on the floor and give her a soft place to land when she gets off the couch. It works well when she isn’t jumping over the whole cushion. :#

@Kamary71 That is so nice of you to help that woman out with her garden. I bet that dried flower bouquet was beautiful. Ohhh I had forgotten about the crush! How often do you get to see him? :)

@micaroo4 I hope you and Rich have a great time and that you hunt down something awesome. :)

@Cornanda Thank you! Decorating is fun and even better when the mess is cleaned up. :) Awe poor Gus and poor you having to clean him up. I’m glad you had fun with your DD.

Good morning! Well, today is our Thanksgiving potluck at the church. I’m making two turkey breasts and some doctored-up stovetop stuffing. I also bought apple and pecan pies. We will go to church, and right afterward, some ladies will finish decorating the room before going home and cooking for the evening. I haven’t worked out all week, but I plan to get back to it starting tomorrow and get my eating back under control. We ate pizza last night because my four-year-old niece asked me to buy her pineapple pizza, and I didn’t say no to that girl. <3
