@Katmary71 LOL yes! And I will definitely enjoy the pasta! I'm glad you enjoyed the band. Well...I thought I sold the walking pad but she changed her mind. Darnit. Yeah I had no idea it was causing it, I never mentioned it to my doctor because I didn't think there was anything she could do about it. LOL that would be an interesting friendsgiving! I'm glad you had a place to go for friendsgiving. I'm glad your day went well.

@micaroo4 I hope you have fun today. That's incredible that you are way ahead of your walking goal!

@Cornanda Well, not so fast on the walking pad (see below). :( Yeah she said the med may not work, we just have to try it. Ah I see, tendonitis. I had tendonitis in my elbow for a long time. It was painful. Poor Gus! I'm glad he's on the mend. I always do the bland diet when they have GI upset, too! Have fun watching football and crocheting!

@TeresaW2024 Yeah it would have been nice lol, see below! LOL yeah it's crazy about that med, eh? Sometimes you just need new lamps. :D Well, it would be really hard to stop a dog from jumping where they want to. It's good you have that cushion. I hope the potluck goes well. I also ate pizza last night: we earned a free pie from our favorite shop and I wanted to use it before my liquid diet starts lol.

Hi all. Well, the lady who bought the walking pad messaged me and said she changed her mind. So...it's still for sale. I did my usual Saturday thing: went for groceries and also coffee with my husband. I am from Ohio originally and Cincinnati chili is near and dear to my heart so I made a batch of that to eat tonight for dinner. Today, I am throwing away all my dead vegetables that died a noble death lol. Hopefully in the spring, it will be more successful.

We went to a store called The Christmas Loft, and discovered that the real Santa Claus was paying a visit. 🎅 I took a picture of Rich with Santa, but it's on Rich's phone. I have to wait for him to share it.

I didn't buy anything. Rich bought some gifts, some food, and some decorations.

We went to a few other stores, but I was all shopped out after the first one.

@micaroo4 I hope you surprise yourself and have fun shopping today. Woohoo you're doing awesome with your steps! Let's see that Santa pic!

@Cornanda hm are you able to do the routine without the step? Didn't you get better shoes awhile ago? I'd hope it would be as easy as new shoes. If it's the actual step I'd look at shoes, how you're stepping in case it's a postural issues, and possibly having too hard of a step like maybe a rubbery top would help? Just throwing out ideas I know it's real frustrating. Thanks! Oh no poor Gus and poor you in having to clean the mess up!

@TeresaW2024 Thanks! Have a great potluck today that sounds fun!

@trooworld Oh no I'm sorry the walking pad woman changed her mind. Thanks! Yum that chili sounds delicious!

@DrewsAnna Do you mean Wednedays are your chosen day for weighing? What is Wegovy Wednesday? Your dinner looks delicious yum! Beautiful photos loved them.

Hi team! Boy it's chilly around here, I think it was down to 38 last night. I got some work done, took my trash to the curb, scrubbed the cat's litter boxes, and pulled out and replaced a rosemary bush then got inside to stay warm. I have a lot of cleaning to do and really would rather nap than do Board Minutes today! Maybe my goal will just be half the board minutes plus a nap. I'm liking that idea! Have a great night and happy Monday.

That's Rich's sister Cathy on the other side of Santa.
Rich towers over Santa, because of course, Santa is a jolly old elf... elves are usually short.

Congrats to the whole team for achieving 3rd place! And a special shout-out goes to @sleepygirl79 @baodell17724 and @Jactop for leading the way!

@DrewsAnna Good luck with the Wegovy, I hope it helps you. I hope you can figure out the decreasing. That food looks good.Wow what stunning pics of the mountain! And cool that you caught the deer in a pic. :)

@micaroo4 I'm glad you had fun. Cute pic of Rich with Santa! That's a good Santa. Thanks for sharing.

@Katmary71 Ah, it's probably for the best: we would have had to deliver it and she lived upstairs! So, I saved my husband's back (and probably mine as well lol). The chili is delicious but it may be an acquired taste: there is cinnamon, chocolate, cloves, allspice in it and you put it over spaghetti with lots of cheddar and oyster crackers. Not your typical chili! It's cold for here, too: it's 4:42 am and it is 46 F. Sounds like you were busy yesterday! I hope you got that nap in.

Hi all. When I said I was throwing away my dead vegetables, I meant the ones I was growing outside. I didn't end up doing that though, we cleaned the house and finally put the Halloween decorations away. We also went Macy's Black Friday sale yesterday but I did not get anything: I didn't want to get stuff and then lose the weight and not be able to wear it. I could have gotten some things for after my surgery but chose not to as I don't have room in my side of the closet. We went to coffee afterward. My body was exhausted from cleaning and my knee hurt. I enjoyed the chili for dinner.

Kinda fell off the wagon this month. My personal life is very stressed right now, and I've packed on almost 10 lb. I'd lost. I also seem to be having problems with my metformin dose, as my blood sugar is dropping lower than it should more frequently, which I have to fix with eating. I'm also depressed a bit so not moving around enough. I have appointments with my doctors this week to try and tackle both problems.

@morenin I'm sorry so much is going on. Are you staying fairly low carb as far as your blood sugar goes? Could you have lost enough that your A1C is lower? Hypoglycemia sucks and is super frustrating when trying to lose as you HAVE to eat something. Good call on the appointments to get yourself back on track, way to go on being proactive!

@trooworld I haven't heard of that chili sounds fascinating! My neighbor is from Colorado and makes a Colorado chili, I was thinking it would be similar but hers is more with chiles and peppers. You're probably getting hit with this storm coming up too, it's going to be freezing tonight I currently have no extra sheets or blankets in the house as they're on plants! Hopefully it won't be freezing and raining at the same time as I'll have to bring them in before it rains later in the week.

@micaroo4 Is Cathy the sister Rich just met? You can definitely see the resemblance! Love the photo how fun!

GO MISSION SLIMPOSSIBLES IN 3rd Place! @sleepygirl79 @baodell17724 @Jactop you are doing amazing top winners!

Hi team! I didn't have to work today and ended up just hanging around the house, stayed home from Bible Study too. I'm feeling worn out I'm going to try taking less Ashwaganda in case it's the higher dose doing it to me. Not much else going on I need to do some of the Board minutes tonight. Have a great Tuesday!

@Katmary71 - yes, Cathy is one of the sisters he met last year when he started seeking DNA relatives. She's the one he's become closest with - and more than any physical resemblance, their personalities are very much alike!

@trooworld That’s too bad that the sale of the walking pad fell through, but I’m sure you will sell it. They are very popular right now. I wish I could taste Cincinnati chili to see if I would like it. I imagine I would since I love all the ingredients. Do you put yours on top of pasta? Joe would love that! :)

@DrewsAnna, I wish you all the best as you begin Wegovy. Those are gorgeous mountain pictures! :)

@micaroo4 Y’all are so lucky that you got to meet the real Santa!! :D

@Katmary71 I hope you find out what makes you feel worn out. You probably need a vacation from all your busy and get more rest. :)

Good morning! It’s cold and going to rain all day, so I’m moving my office work and errands to Thursday. Today, I will do laundry and a little housework. I’m also getting back to working out today. The potluck went well, and everyone had a great time, but I’m done with all the eating! We brought home the leftover pies and finished them off last night. My face is puffy, and I’m over it. Back to getting healthy starts today!! :)

@morenin I'm sorry you are struggling. I hope the doctors can figure it out. Big hugs.

@Katmary71 It is good. Yeah nothing like Colorado chili, I think. I wonder if that is the same as Chili Colorado? That's a Mexican dish with lots of chilies. Oh gosh, I don't know but it IS cold here too, well I guess not too bad: it's 50F right now at 4:30 am. Believe it or not, we sleep with the AC on and set to 65 year round! I hope your plants don't get ruined from the cold or rain. I'm glad you decided to stay home and take care of yourself.

@TeresaW2024 Yes I am mega disappointed about the walking pad! You DO put it on top of pasta, it looks like the below picture. Chocolate is a controversial ingredient: some say it's not supposed to be in Cincinnati chili but others do. I put it in! Yay for getting back to working out! I'm glad the potluck was a success.

Hi all. I got my CPAP machine and set it up as best as I could based on a video. I wore it for about 3 or 4 hours last night while sleeping but I don't think I had it set up right and couldn't breathe really well so I took it off. I have a video visit with a consultant from the company on Friday so hopefully, we can get it figured out.

Here's a picture of Cincinnati chili, in case you are curious:

My A1C is in fact lower, it went from close to diabetes in pre-diabetic to normal. I'm not watching my carbs but I am trying to eat more fiber and keep sugar down.

My Bike did not arrive last week, it's now scheduled for tomorrow. They could not find our address last Friday; I think the driver was just lazy we get stuff here all the time without any issues.

For Thanksgiving I'm going to eat roasted chicken from Sam's club and have my usual snacks. Sam's club has ApplePears, it's a new favorite fruit of mine. It's a cross between an Apple and a Pear, I love the texture. I like mine peeled and sliced. I eat that with a pack of breakfast biscuits for my afternoon snack.

I hope everybody has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

How do you balance enjoying holiday treats with staying on track toward your fitness goals?

I set specific goals for fitness, and set specific limits for holiday treats. If there's a party, I have a game plan for staying within my calories. Choose the healthiest options, especially if the food doesn't really matter to me. There are some favorite foods, and I plan for them and use portion control - and then savor every bite.

@FushiaKat I'm sorry it didn't arrive yesterday but today is the day! I know you are excited. Enjoy your new bike and Thanksgiving.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: How do you balance enjoying holiday treats with staying on track toward your fitness goals?
I'm going to eat what I want on Thanksgiving Day but the next day, I am going on a photo shoot in the mountains. As long as my knee holds up, I am going to walk with my photo club and take pictures. It's a hilly walk so that should burn some of it off. I'm not going to eat things I don't like just to be polite. I am going to eat what I really like.

Hi all. I was so tired at work yesterday, I think the 5 or so years of poor sleep are catching up with me. I can't wait to see if the CPAP helps with my sleep. I need to get Thanksgiving groceries this weekend and I'm thinking I'll do grocery pickup from Walmart for part of them and go to Sam's Club for the rest. I really don't want to go into any of the stores but my husband is prioritizing his morning walking over getting groceries which is good for his health but bad for me. I can't bring the groceries in by myself so I have to do it when it is convenient for him, which means I'll probably end up going to both stores in the middle of the day on the weekend. I might get Walmart delivered.

@FushiaKat Oh those ApplePears sound wonderful! I need to get over to Sams ASAP and see if we have them. :)

@trooworld That chili looks so good! I hope you can figure out how to use the CPAP machine to help you sleep well. I would rather stab myself in the eye than go to Walmart and Sams during the day on a weekend before Thanksgiving. Get those groceries ordered and pick them up!! Good luck to you! :D

Good morning! I mentioned how I didn’t work out last week because I was so busy decorating the house and doing other stuff. I don’t know if I mentioned how bad my feet hurt daily. They were swollen and so painful that I was popping my mom’s pain pills and shopping for new shoes! Yesterday, I did 20 minutes of jumping on the rebounder, and my feet were great last night. This morning, there is no pain or swelling. So, I learned a lesson, and I know now that jumping isn't something to neglect. :)

How do you balance enjoying holiday treats with staying on track toward your fitness goals?

I’m not the best at balancing the holidays! :D I do plan to continue with my workouts and try to remember that the holiday is ONE day and not a whole week. Since I’m only feeding three people this season, I plan to limit my eating to the day of the holiday and not drag it out by overbuying too much food. Hopefully, that will help! :p
