Sorry to be a day late posting my weight this week. I suspect that I'm not the only one with a lot of balls in the air. Just got back from my set-up appointment at the radiologist. I've been a bit anxious about my treatment. Since this is such a rare diagnosis, there are not a lot of studies and data and no clinical practice guidelines specifically for this type. So I worry about over-treating, and then I worry about not adequately treating. (The radiologist asked hubby if I always worry this much, and when he said, "yes, she pre-worries", she asked me "How is that working fer ya?" Thankfully, I had a really great tech today, so I came home feeling less anxious than I did when I set out.
As far as my intake and activity, my intake has still included too much sugar. That darned leftover Halloween candy is still calling my name at night, so I told hubby to please take it to his cousin that he's visiting this weekend. Bill lives at a lake that has few residents once summer is over, so he doesn't have trick-or-treaters. But I don't think that's the full reason why I'm up more than pound. I really can't explain that dip last week.
Lois, your trip sounds like fun, but all that walking and then a long drive! Oh, my gosh, no wonder you were exhausted. Sorry to hear that the toe is still giving you trouble. Hope there's something else that can be done. If I have a foot hurt, it affects my whole body, not to mention my mood.
Sheesh and Kelly, looking forward to hearing about what is going on in your worlds.
Before I go, here are my 7-day averages for last week:
Steps = 10,402
Kcals burned = 1,751

I'll take that. I've been helping out here and there because of a sick nanny for my daughter. She works from home, and her hubby CAN work from home, so we were able to schedule so that I could keep my trainer appointments and some other stuff. It's pretty tiring, especially with a long drive each way. Today, I'm home. I think I'll get in a manicure if I can today. I've also been planning and getting ready for my other daughter's family to visit for Thanksgiving. I got tickets to a holiday "Luminaria" that people rave about, but I've never been to as yet. Also, hubby was able to get advance tickets for "Wicked" (the movie) and another day for "Moana 2" for the littler kiddos here. The week should be really fun!
Sarah, it's natural to worry, but I wish I could wave a magic wand and take it away for you. It just doesn't change anything, but could cause more harm with the stress to your mind and body. I'm a fairly good worrier, and I have to find ways to distract myself from it by focusing on something else. If you like to read, I'm reading a good book, "The Frozen River" by Ariel Lawhon. I'm glad you're keeping your activity up, too. Your steps are always more than mine!
Lois, wow! It looks very fun in Disneyland! That ride . . . omg, I'm not too sure about a water AND rollercoaster experience for me! I hope your toe is healing up, and that you're feeling better overall.
Kelly, a nice relaxing time at a cabin is so appealing to me right now. I miss ours . . I hope you really get lots of enjoyment out of your place. I'm sorry about your mom's rib . . dang it. But, it's good to hear that your MIL is home and doing okay. A monitor for her or a cell phone is probably a good idea.
Well, I'm still on my months long quest of getting my medical stuff done. Had the check up, all good but my calcium levels were high. I was told to stop all calcium intake/supplements and come back in a month. The month follow-up is next Tuesday. The DEXA scan showed osteopenia, and some areas worse with osteoporosis, so he will talk to me about that also Tuesday. Had my second and last colonoscopy and stomach, and they took a couple of biopsies of my stomach. If you can believe it, I've played phone tag with their office for a WEEK trying to get the results of the biopsies. They left a message, I leave a message, they leave a message, etc, etc. I guess these people think I sit by my phone all day waiting for it to ring. Not my life lately, hahaha! Most of the time it's muted for this or that reason. Everyone knows they need to text me. Although, my sister will NOT text, so I have to call her.
Anyway, mammogram is on the 22nd, flu vaccine, I'll get the updated Covid in Dec. Heart is great. Teeth are clean and all good. Whew! Send good thoughts for me on Tuesday with my Doc.
My trainer gave me some creatine and amino acids to put into my water for before, during, and after workouts. She's hoping it will help increase my bone mass after I told her about my DEXA. Do you ladies have any experience or info about that? I've never taken creatine.

Happy Monday morning Ladies.
Sarah - the uptick may just be your body holding onto everything with the stress you're feeling about your treatment plans. Plus extra sugar - but that's just my thoughts. I know it's easier to say when it's not you, but I agree with the radiologist... And then I do the same thing, so what do I know? LOL Your regular intake and activity is awesome. Keep it going. I really think your classes are helpful.
Sheesh - I can relate to travel and caring for the grandchildren. I know when I travel back and forth to help with Rhea, I get exhausted and I think it's the 45 min drive each direction that's the main contributor to the exhaustion. Along with caring for them, memories are being made and that will stay with them forever. I keep looking forward to when I do finally retire (5 years or so to go). And how I can help with Rhea. Even now I have enough PTO to add a day here and there. But it's the commute that kills me. So I'm using my Fridays when I can to pick her up from after care and spend just a little while with her before her parents get home. It's just magical and she can be so cuddly - I love those times.
Creatine - I believe I may have attempted to take it in my younger days when I was doing a lot of training...like 30 years ago. I couldn't take it. It appears I'm allergic or sensitive to chromium picolinate (makes my heart race like crazy) and all of the products back then had too much for me to handle. But I know a lot of trainers support it. I also can't take vitamin C so if that tells you anything of how sensitive I am to some products. I would try it and pay attention to how your body feels and reacts.
I stayed on my meals last week - super yummy. Like Sarah we still have some leftover Halloween candy. I'll be sending it with my girlfriend this week when she comes to clean. She didn't understand my message when she was here last time when I told her to take it then! She eats it freely when she's here, and we love that about her - but I wanted her to take it ALL...she took a few, but not ALL. She's doing my hair tomorrow night so I'm taking it to her then. She can put it in the bowl for her clients to eat when getting their hair done. So no, I'm not trying to give it to one person, she has clientele that will appreciate it in small doses.
Saturday hubby and I took the Halloween decorations back to storage and retrieved the Christmas decorations. We filled both cars. So with all of the lifting, shoving, moving and walking up/down the seven stairs (our units are on the upper level - we passed on the lower level concerned about bug access - the complex is super clean, but dunno what is stored in the neighboring units so at least they will have to climb higher to get to our unit...lol. That's my story and I'm sticking to it). LOL. Anyhow, we brought it all home and filled our living room. I got a small portion up, but I need stuff that is in the garage before I can continue. So we unpacked and displayed what we could and took back about 1/3 of the boxes (but the Christmas tree box is the largest and that is back in storage. Oh, and of course I added some stuff for this year...the Home Depot animated Mickey/Minnie. I can't believe my luck this year. Last year I attempted to order them and kept missing the opportunity. This year, 5am just before leaving for Cali to meet my friend, the email came they were in stock and I ordered them as soon as I read the email. And they're lovely. Large. Very large for indoors. And I didn't read the box well that they are indoor pieces. Whoops. So Minnie is on the stair landing at an angle and Mickey is just outside my office door. We will put them out front for Christmas Eve when we have the luminaries going. We have a garage banner of Main Street that we got a couple of years ago as well. So it will all go beautifully. Our front yard is decorated with white lights, white deer and two nativity scenes the rest of the season. Mickey/Minnie will be at the end of the driveway waving to cars passing by.
Anyhow, with the trips to storage and putting up the garland and some other stuff, I was exhausted. And my toe still hurts At night when I'm resting it is throbbing below the skin, it's not the tip of the toe anymore it's below the skin. I'm going to message my doc and see if we can do an xray or something to see what's going on. I did schedule an appt for Dec 9 after my Disney trips, but if he can order some sort of scan to see that would be optimal. I don't want him poking and digging blind. And yes, the sore toe affects how I walk as well as my mood at the end of the day as well.
Well my Monday morning report is done running. Have an awesome day.
