I’m happy to see the scale move, but not so happy with my exercise regiment. This week was tough. Only one day of working out before I had 12+ hour days with challenging meetings. With all my meetings, I didn’t have much time to snack, and I was exhausted so I went to bed as soon as I got home most days. So I guess that’s good both calorie-wise and sleep health.
It won’t really slow down for me much between now and the end of January, and I shared with my manager that I am feeling overwhelmed. She definitely understands and gave me some advice; my only issue is that our team is very siloed with the work we all do, so it’s hard to find support.
Anyway, sorry for the rant. I hope everyone is doing well and if you celebrate Thanksgiving in November, happy Thanksgiving!2 -
@wishfuljune I'm glad you reached out to your manager. I hope she was actually helpful. When we get busy at work, they buy us pizza for lunch 🤣1

This week and weekend are flying by! I am finally starting to feel better (it's about time!) and I got some good walking in at the park today 🙂 I have started making better food choices again as well, so hoping for a green week.2

This week will be a rough one food choice wise. My goal is do my best to manage portion sizes. I am going to my sisters she has a lot of walking paths in her area. Hopefully get some steps outside as well.2 -
Zucchini pizza looks awesome!
I have unfortunately found a frozen pizza brand recently that is actually so good... but surely not low on calories or carbs. At least it is easier to count what I am eating from it vs a restaurant pizza.
The temperatures have definitely dropped in the Boston area the last week. I still don't have my heat turned on yet in my apartment but this morning was the first day where my toes felt a little chilly...
I get to work from home this whole week bc of the US holiday (I have thurs & fri off) and I forgot how nice totally remote weeks are. I am going to vacuum, clean my oven, and maybe start scrubbing my kitchen floor which has needed attention for a few weeks, all while getting plenty done at work! And I just got back from a lovely 30 min walk. My foot is okay, I would give it 80% marks for this walk. I am mentally closer to committing back to the step team here - got review where my steps have been the last few weeks and see if it makes sense to really start tracking.
@lauren_989 although I am doing solo Thanksgiving this year, I am still planning a nice little meal for myself so I will plan to weigh in Thursday morning instead of Friday if that's cool.2 -
@Kali225 absolutely, you can weigh in Thursday.
Discussion Question: This week is a holiday in the US and the winter holidays are just around the corner. How do you plan for these events? How do you stay on track with all the friend's parties, work parties, and the actual holiday? ( @StayFITTer )
For me, the biggest tip came from my husband. It's a holiDAY not holiweek. Even with that I ended up gaining a bunch of weight last December. Looking for any tips from everyone!3 -

Current Weight: 154.8 lbs
I made it through last week! Work should be lighter this week, off on Thursday. Doing a small Thanksgiving at home with the husband! I'll be tracking, but probably will be giving myself a good amount of grace on Thursday. We're trying to make enough for dinner Thursday, with a meal or two leftover for lunches. Lots of veggies, too2 -
Celebrations
*Congrats to our top losers last week @wishfuljune @Heathere244 @zankash23!
*We had 44% of our team in the green last week!! 🟩
*It was also the first time this month that our team overall lost weight 🎉
Keep up the great work!2 -
Hey team, sorry I've been so quiet. I've had alot going on, nothing major or of importance, but I am still here, chugging along.
We are hosting Thanksgiving this year, it's more of a misfit Thanksgiving though, I realized there were alot of people who didn't really have or want to go elsewhere, so I decided to cook and invite those people over. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but it's all good, the people who are coming are grateful and won't be picky snobs. lol
I am kind of doing a weird menu, we are having turkey, but I am also making a pork tenderloin with apple chutney. Instead of making mashed potatoes, I am having potato soup. My potato soup is a favorite amongst these guests, and honestly my mashed potatos aren't very good, they are boring. I will do regular stuffing, and green bean almondine and of course cranberry sauce (the can shaped kind)., Oh and cornbread, cause I make really good cornbread. Then we have the appetizers which are my favorite part of the whole meal , stuffed celery, olives, gerkins, and chex mix. I made the chex mix on Saturday, and it's already half gone.
We decided to forgo dessert because none of us are really fans of pie, and it seemed overkill, so no dessert.
Okay have a great day !

@Gidgitgoescrzy - your menu sounds delightful. I'll be enjoying my weekend up north mostly indoors as we had a big dump of snow but my dog is loving it. I'm still recovering from this respiratory virus I caught last week, it's lingering longer than I want.
Happy Thanksgiving !!3 -
Oh man! It has been a week and it's only Tuesday! Yesterday, on my way to work, I had a huge rock hit my windshield. Amazingly, it didn't come all the way through the windshield, but was dang close. I had shattered glass all throughout the cab of my vehicle. I ended up with only one cut that I could find and it was a tiny one on the back of my hand. Also, I didn't panic or swerve towards traffic or off the side of the road. I didn't actually even stop. I just slowed down and made it the rest of the way to work safely. Now my husband and I are down to one vehicle until my car can get fixed tomorrow.

(American) Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It has all my favorite "Fs" - family, friends, football, and food. This year, we have my mom and one of her friends coming over for the day. I plan on making a small turkey (only 10lbs), stuffing, cranberry sauce (the kind with real cranberries), mashed potatoes, and a huckleberry pie. My mom is going to bring over rolls and a pumpkin pie. Everything will be gluten free (for me) except the rolls my mom will bring. Oh! Any my Packers (yes, MY Packers) play on Thursday.
I allow myself this holiday and the few days after for leftovers because it is my favorite and it only happens once a year. I do try to take advantage of the time off work and get more exercise in than normal.2 -

I'm glad you stayed safe and only got 1 scratch! That must have been a big rock to hit your windshield!0 -

Hi Team Waist Aways! We have a new member joining. Please welcome @Alatariel75!2

Hello all! Thank you for welcoming me!!
As you can see from my post count, I've been on MFP a looooong time LOL, and have had my best success here! I recommitted in July 2024, and have lost just on 20kg in that time, but November's been a bit of a drag and I am really missing the social aspect which came with the feed. So I saw the shout out for this challenge and here I am!
My goal is to hit Christmas in the double digits, which should be totally doable! I do need to navigate a weekend away with the girls, a 4 day trip for work, by husband's birthday, my father's birthday, and all those holiday temptations.
My other goal is to start Couch 2 5k again, I have a 25km trail run/walk in May 2025, and I want to be able to run at least bits of it!3 -

Welcome! We are happy to have you! Those sound like great goals for the next few months. I have been working on the couch to 5k off and on this year as well. It also sounds like you have a few temptations coming up, so I hope we can keep you on track!1
