46, peri hit me like a freight train (looking back it started earlier, but things started to get bad around 44-45, but had no clue that's what was going on until earlier this year). Treating that is helping with my energy and motivation and sleep, which is making getting back into the gym a lot easier. Joint pain/tendonitis still a struggle sometimes, so having to take things slow to ensure I don't make things worse.

Weight shift is proving to be a huge problem for me. Trying a few things to see if it will start to resolve. So far any progress is slow, but at least I've stopped the worsening of things.

I've been hitting the iron since my early 30's (age 47 now), so I have not had personal decline. But I have seen the decline in my friends, which is extra motivation for me to keep doing what I'm doing.

Happened to me at 44. Decided that it was time to listen to the rest of the world...started weight training with a personal trainer and stopped killing my body with extreme cardio workouts. Incorporated creatine, collagen, protein shakes (just with water), pre workout and the realized that low carb lifestyle was not for me anymore. Tracking my macros have helped my carb intake confidence and I have never felt better nor had body definition like I do now.

    Hey my name is Alissa,

I was wondering what type of creatine collagen do you use and what type of protein shakes do you use too.

    Thank You!

Yes I turned 45 in November and i was unemployed and even more sedentary for 6 months. It destroyed my strength and I'm sure I've lost some muscle. I started doing squats and resistance bands/bar training last week. I have a kettlebell coming tomorrow that adjusts from 5 to 25 lbs. I do what I can on upper body but a lot is bicep and what few shoulder rehabs I've learned on youtube. I and my Dr agreed without MRI or x ray that is probably frozen shoulder. But I think i also have some impingement going on too in that side of my neck. But I can do squats and lunges and soon maybe swings if my shoulder can handle it. I can lift forward but laterally is stiff and uncomfortable to severely painful. But my core and leg strength are what i miss. So ill work on those.

I'm in medically induced menopause, I had a hysterectomy in March 2024. I had it all removed and unfortunately both ovaries too so I'm on HRT. I feel good on hormones. I'm sleeping well, NOW. I have no hot flashes or anything. I started on Creatine a week ago or so. I get plenty of protein sometimes too much as I'm trying to stick to keto and it takes pretty near carnivore to get me there. 😑
