    Happy Wednesday!

Woot! I worried my girls weekend would be a bit of a blip, but it turns out walking and chatting for hours at a time can offset cheese and wine!

@leni1us enjoy your vacation! Are you going anywhere fun?

@lauren_989 We're heading to Jamaica tomorrow. My husband found several close relatives he has there through Ancestry.com. He is 67 and never knew he had any connection to Jamaica.
So, it's a vacation and a "meet and greet". I'm excited for him. :) We'll see how things go.

I'm Joann from Alberta, Canada. I'm 44 years old mom to a 10 year old daughter and 2 year old German Shepherd. Both my husband and I work full time and I"m doing online courses for my MPA, hoping to be finished my end of 2025. I love working out in the morning and walking the dog but with the cold winter and shorter daylight It's been hard to get up and out.

I'm so glad It's December as November was a challenge balancing work/school and keeping all the balls up in the air. I'm so close to wrapping up my classes and then I'm off to Houston for my brothers wedding just before Christmas. Any suggestions on things to do in Houston?

My hobbies right now is making sourdough bread. I love making my own food and sourdough is a weekly staple for me and the family.

@cleaneater80 I have not been to Houston, but I would love to see the space center there! Also, what's your favorite sour dough recipe?

@leni1us enjoy Jamaica and the warmth!!

I'm hanging in here today. Slightly better/slightly worse at the same time 😷

My weigh in should have been Sunday. I did weigh on that day, just have not posted yet.

Thanksgiving wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. This week have been busy so hopefully it shows on the scale. I live in the country and we have been having quite a bit of stray kittens dropped off. Trying to keep them warm in the cold weather here. Plus I am not sure these were actually barn cats to begin with. They are keeping me busy.

@Heathere244 bless you for looking after those babies!! I keep saying that I am not going to get another kitty, but if the cat distribution system chose to put one in my path, I'd not be upset about it...

@Heathere244 I'm trying to talk my husband into getting a cat, where do you live again? 😂

I am feeling maybe slightly better today, but am so over this cough. I am miserable. I can't even begin to imagine if I was older and had this! 🤧

This week flew by! I have a bunch of dumb administrative tasks for end of the year stuff to get done at work tomorrow, but I hope I can just get through it and log off a little early.

Not sure how my weight will look tomorrow. Dinner with my team on Tuesday night was ginormous. So much steak, potatoes, and wine. Delicious, but indulgent.

Continuing to get walks in! My new Garmin fitness tracker should arrive Friday which should be veryyy motivating for my newly-doable walks. woo!

PW: 183.2 (I weighed in on Thanksgiving, but forgot to login to post)
    CW: 180.6

I have been extremely MIA and haven't had a chance to read through everyone's posts. Last Thursday, was Thanksgiving in the US and at some point in the day, I tripped and fell on uneven concrete. Thus, hurting my back. I tried to play pickleball Saturday, but my back just hurt too much. Then Monday, I left work early with a 102.2 degree F temperature. Luckily, it broke that night, but I had digestive issues all of Monday and Tuesday. I tried to drink a lot of water, but even that was hard to get down and keep down. So, by Wednesday I ended up with a migraine from being dehydrated and that lasted through yesterday. Today is the best I have felt and it's still not great because I have a tension headache on the other side of my head from the migraine.

All of that to say, I hope to hop on soon and catch up with all of the posts.

    Hello,
Hope that @MaddawgMadsen and @lauren_989 are feeling better soon!

I had a good week overall and was able to log calories every day. I had one day when calories were a little high but I still had a small deficit. I'm calling that a win. I need to get a workout in this weekend. I need to plan week day workouts better. My teens have been working with a physical therapist who specializes in sports condition after some injuries fromcross country. We got a new spin bike because the therapist wants them cross training. My work out room is busy now with kids training. I guess I need to sign up for a slot! One of the training techniques he has them doing is breath holding while completing cardio. I have been doing it and it's supposed to increase your cardio fitness quicker. You bike and breathe normal for 50 seconds and then hold your breath for 10 seconds. It's hard to do and the goal is about 5 or 6 breath holding cycles during your 20 or 30 minute work out. You wear an oxygen saturation meter on your finger.

I have 2 weeks of work left before Christmas break. I'm getting excited for the break and the holidays. My youngest finally caught on to santa. This will be our first Christmas without a "believer". New chapter for us. A little sad to see the magic gone but I am thrilled to not be on elf duty every night until Christmas. Elf on the shelf is so fun but soooooo much work!

Our team's wonderful co-captain, @ashleycarole86 has been away with her husband's ( @bowens1973 ) MIL not doing well. She normally does our team's step challenge.

If anyone is interested in continuing or starting our step challenge, please let me know your daily step goal and then post your steps once a week! Happy stepping! 🚶🏼‍♀️

Super late check-in, but another good walk today, including up a steep hill which felt good. Must get to sleep!

Got my grocery shopping done earlier than I have in weeks - love having extra time before the football games are on. I think I should rest my foot today a bit from all the walking, so I am going to pick a yoga video on youtube and move slowly. My meals this week will be pork cutlets with mushrooms, chives, and what I call my "steak fries" (baked potatoes that then get sliced and fried up with a bit of butter), for dinner. And lunch will be homemade chicken club sandwiches, with fruit.

@Kali225 I love that you were able to get your food planning done early this week!

I am finally starting to feel a little better. I still get exhausted easily though. I'm hoping for a nap after I type this up.

    Discussion Question:

How much water do you drink a day? Any tips for how to drink more?

I can't add much to that ^^ discussion question - water is the only thing I drink and I am always thirsty, so I probably get about 75-100oz each day without thinking about it. I do like to use larger cups and water bottles, so I don't have to refill as often throughout the day. If I do ever need a little interest in my water, I like to add Crystal Light lemonade mix.
