This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!
Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.

Today's Topic: Just really busy.
Is it just me? or does it seem like everyone is really busy. I'm ready to slow down but priorities keep popping up. When you get really busy does it effect your eating habits? Do you have to force yourself to slow down and maintain your course of action?

Hmm . . .
I’m trying to think, but now that I’m retired I just don’t get really busy. There are days that don’t fit my “usual” schedule, but it’s rarely a big thing. If I need to, I get up early to exercise and have breakfast. If I’m away from the house, there are a variety of known options locally where I can get a reasonable meal. If need be, I’ll get my evening meal out at lunchtime, and eat my usual (low calorie) lunch at home for dinner. And even if I’m out of town, I can still find something reasonable somewhere* - eggs and yogurt for breakfast, a salad with protein (chicken or salmon) for other meals, etc.
So I guess I’d say my life is structured around my usual meals, but I can still manage my meals around my life when I need to. A change doesn’t have to throw me off track.
* Options?- Longhorn has a good strawberry and grilled chicken year-round.
- Panera usually has a low calorie seasonal salad with protein that’s good. Just get dressing on the side.
- IHOP always has egg options for breakfast.
- Hampton Inn has a free breakfast buffet where I can get yogurt and fruit.
- BJ's Restaurant and Brewery has a Santa Fe grilled chicken salad that’s good; I just ask for it without the tortilla strips.

I’m generally better off when I’m busy. At least up to a point. It’s been a long time since I’ve been busy enough to just grab the first thing I see. Best thing for me is to be too busy to stop off at the fridge every time I pass it.1

I am exceptionally busy with work. In my personal life, it comes and goes. The Holidays are always busy.0
