I think that reduction is mostly from being too busy to eat much, lol. Once again, I have managed to squeeze in some exercise (trying to get my Dec Apple Challenge badge so I'll have all 12 months, lol) but not logging food. Although, I did have salads twice for dinner. So, I'm trying.

Sarah, I'm so, so, so glad you went with the other medical treatment place. I know it will be a challenge to get there, but the quality and targeted treatment sounds like it's much better! And, better treatment, better outcome. I hope the news is as good for your kitty Teddy. And, you ladies who drink tea . . I am just not a fan. I don't much like the fancy coffee drinks either. I drink black coffee. If I go to Starbucks, I might go crazy and order an Americana, lol. I just like the taste of plain coffee. I have been putting some matcha powder into a probiotic drink my trainer gave me. I read somewhere that matcha is good for helping the body make osteoblasts and osteoclasts for bone health. So, I put about 1/2 tsp in and gag it down. :D

Lois, the blood sugar and a1c levels are a big concern, and I hope you'll get into your doctor soon to address it. There are new medications that can be prescribed. Our little step granddaughter has type 1 diabetes. She got a pump, so it's better controlled, and she can see where her blood sugar's at on her cell phone. Such a great new technology. And, your DL trip next year is an inspiration for me to get going on our travel plans for '25! Smart to book now.

We're having kids and grands that live here for Christmas Eve dinner, and we'll open gifts, play games, etc. On Christmas, hubby and I will drive to see their Santa haul, and then get home and pack for Mexico. So, this year we put up one Christmas tree (we usually do two), and cut back some on the rest of the house. I just wanted to skip the furniture moving for the second tree. The wreaths on the fireplaces, the mantles, outside, and the one tree is enough for me this year. We'll get back from our trip and get everything put away asap! I'm not one for leaving decorations up a long time.

Kelly, I hope you'll check in and let us know how Ella is doing, and how your holiday is going.

Hey, I just realized I MIGHT not be able to post much until after Christmas, so I'm wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Enjoy your loved ones. I'm very grateful for you ladies! I hope we'll make some healthy plans and goals for '25, and encourage each other to get them.

Sorry to be late, ladies. The past few days have been hectic and very "off normal." I actually forgot to weigh both yesterday and today. I did weigh today right after I ate lunch and fully clothed including shoes and I was at 133.4. So I'm guessing somewhere around 130.

I just wanted to quickly log on to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday, and let you know a little about what is going on here. First, I got a call from my sister Tuesday evening saying that one of my nieces died early that day. My BIL is my sister's second husband and he is 12 years old than she is. When they married he was a widower with two grown daughters and one teenage daughter. The niece who died was his oldest daughter. We don't know the exact cause of death at this time. She had been sick with pneumonia for more than a week and when her husband got home from work, he saw that she was not breathing well, so he called 9-1-1. While getting ready for transport, she passed out and the EMTs were not able to revive her. She had a heart condition, so there's some suspicion that the lack of oxygen resulted in a heart attack. She was a nurse and took medication for that condition and took good care of herself, so it's a terrible suprise. The funeral is being held so quickly that we could not make arrangements to get there, so we're keeping our original travel plans.

Teddy's visit with the internal medicine vet did not reveal a lot, but they said he seems to be in reasonably good shape right now, so he can be left alone between pet sitter visits. Glad our sitter is a vet tech. They ran some additional tests, but results will not be available for a couple of weeks.

My paper signing and set up appointment with Johns Hopkins is at 8 a.m. tomorrow. I expect they'll schedule my radiation appointments at that time.

Not sure when I'll be back online, but I'll try to check in at least a couple of times before the new year. My 7-day averages for steps last week were okay, but my kcals burned were down quite a bit. I'm not sure what is up with that. I'm sure both will be way down this week, but I have to deal with what is on my plate

    Steps = 10,075
    Kcals burned = 1,618

Before I dash off, you ladies are always on my mind and I wish everyone and their loved ones a safe and happy holiday season. Live each day to its fullest and enjoy all the good things and people in your lives. <3

Just a quick message to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a great New Year! I look forward to focusing more on my health in the new year and set up some attainable goals.
We're off to the cabin this weekend to check on things, then a ton of family functions next week and the cabin again for New Years Eve, so I'm not sure I'll have time to post. I want all of you to know how much I appreciate you all as friends and people I can confide in. I love you all! <3

Oh my goodness. The week has flown by. I have started several posts and never got to "post'. Year end work and the holidays are insane this year. Last night was my daughter in law's 2nd college graduation, this round with her Bachelors in Engineering. So proud of them to stick it out and achieve these accomplishments.

My daughter and SIL arrive on Saturday. Then the chaos truly begins. We have several things planned between now and Christmas Day. Fortunately, we will have some "downtime" between Christmas and New Years to focus on some of the "chores" we've ignored all year to go to Disneyland. LOL. A big one is I've ordered us a new bed from Costco. Hoping it arrives between Christmas and New Years, so day after Christmas we need to move some stuff in our room and allow to fit a split king adjustable where our current queen set resides. We may not have time to dismantle our queen headboard set up as it is a massive wall unit. If not, then we'll put the new one in front and enjoy. We're a little awkward in other ways so this probably won't bother too much (haha). Anyway, we also still have mom's stuff to finish packing up in her room (hoping we can coordinate a shipment to the Philippines after the holidays). Also need to address some/all of mom's boxes in storage that need to be gone through and mostly shredded (unfortunately blind shredding is not an option - she had important docs mixed in with mailer pieces so it all has to be gone through). We have two storage units currently and I'd like to get rid of the smaller unit sooner rather than later and save some funds.

We've been eating the chef's meals this week and I fear we're going to have to freeze a few (our freezer is packed at the moment, as are both refrigerators with holiday prep stuff). Eeek. not great planning on my part. And I have the grocery and Costco food deliveries scheduled for Monday morning so I have an opportunity to find missing foods that afternoon or Tuesday morning. Beef stew on Tuesday for luminaries and lasagna and veggies for Christmas day, along with a honey baked ham. Working today until noon and then I can jump into the remaining decorations that need to be put up (yep - we're not quite done - it's been busy). Thank goodness my friend is still helping me with the house, so she was here last night and did a fresh clean and helped with some additional dusting that I didn't finish.

Sarah - I hope your travels to your sister's goes well and I think you had some doc appts this week as well. You're in my prayers. Hoping Teddy improves and does well with the sitter.

Sheesh - Merry Christmas and great job always being there for the family and have a fabulous time in Mexico with the family.

Kelly - Hugs to you girl!!! Enjoy your cabin, family and don't let the holidays overtake you.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you. As Kelly ad stated, I appreciate each one of you as a friend and a confidant. You gals are amazing and have a special place in my heart.

I'm so tired I am almost blind, but decided to take a minute to check for posts. We are leaving early tomorrow morning if all goes well. Things have been out-of-the ordinary and sometimes out of my control lately, so for the first time in just forever, I am not trying to keep up with my food diary or meet my 10K daily step goal. I am just hoping that I get back here with a minimum gain, and then I'll get back to my routines. I'll also set some goals for 2025. Speaking of which, 2024 has been such a stinker for me that I am sincerely hoping that the new year will try to make up for some of it. One thing for sure, though--having you ladies here to share both the good and the bad has helped a lot.

The set up appointment on Friday went well and Teddy's additional test results were mostly good. I will tell you more about both when I have more time and energy.

Like Kelly said, I love you all and wish you exactly the kind of Christmas that makes you happy.
