@lauren_989 Sounds like you had a nice holiday

Just wanted to give you a heads up, I'll be away on Saturday, but I plan to be back home on Sunday so my weigh-in will be a day late. If anything prevents me from giving numbers on the 29th I'll let you know.

And thank you for the non-zero explanation!

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Any highlights?

Welcome back @micki48 - so glad you'll be rejoining the step team. I always forget if your goal is 7K or 8K so just remind me please. @conleywoods is back too so it's a mini reunion of the old days!

Has anyone heard from @jugar lately? I miss her check-ins...

@strong_fit_ells Just need your steps from the last week so I can close off the report! Thanks

Not quite the loss I would have liked BUT any loss over the holidays works for me.

@lauren_989 I'm going to weight in tomorrow. Forgot to get on the scale this morning. I'm guessing it won't be great. Time of the month and sooo much christmas candy and treats. Today I am in my calories so that's a win. My husband and I did a long sauna session this evening. Hopefully I will shed some of this water weight. I'm planning to sit in front of my red light panel before bed too. It all helps! Tomorrow I am getting some exercise. The whole family got roller skates so we are heading to the skating rink tomorrow! My daughter and I have the cutest quad skates. Metallic shimmer patent leather with giant puff balls on the toes and gummy bear charms on the laces!!! I'll post pics tomorrow.

OOOOFFFF me not having this accountability of this group, is not good for me. My starting weight for Jan will be 149. I was hoping it would be a little lower after a few days, but no such luck.

I got a new fitbit, and a new scale and I am ready to kick Januarys butt ! I have one last get together for the Holidays and it is my favorite, we are going to Longwood Gardens on Saturday, and my oldest son and daughter are also going with their SO's. It's supposed to rain, but it's okay, hopefully that just means less people. lol

    Have a great day !

We had a great Christmas and also celebrated the first night of Hannukah with my SIL.

I really enjoyed the time spent with my nieces and watching them open presents :)

I ate way too much, including food and cookies :(

This typically happens this time of year. I am going to weigh in on Saturday, after we get home. We made it to northern VA and stayed in a hotel and will hopefully leave soon to get the rest of the way home (4.5 hours). I am ready to get back on track, start tracking calories again, and get back into my healthy habits. Today and tomorrow will be a sugar detox and hopefully I won't have too bad a headache or fatigue.

    @conleywoods those cookies look delicious!

@Gidgitgoescrzy the same thing happened to me when I took off a month once. Even if I'm not losing weight and maintaining, this group definitely keeps me accountable!

    Friday Weigh In
    PW: 253.9
    CW: 252.9

I almost didn't bother to weigh in today because it's been a week of eating out and cookies and chocolate, and I have my TOM. But I am glad I did! I guess eating hasn't been as bad as it has felt. And I have been pretty consistent with getting out for my walks, despite a few days of bitter cold temps. Have to be more consistent with my PT exercises when I am not at home....
But to that end - @ashleycarole86 (drumroll please) at long last, can I rejoin the step team?! I'll start next week, with a goal of 7K please.

Loved reading about everyone's holidays. I had a good christmas with family and the celebrating isn't quite done yet as we are going to my grandmother's tomorrow to have lunch with her and my aunt. Work has thankfully been very quiet so I can lounge around yesterday/today. The parts of my family in new york watched The Princess Bride on xmas eve - SUCH a classic!!! We haven't seen it in ages so last night, my mom, my sister, and I put it on again. :D

Happy holidays to all and a happy new year if I (yet again) forget to read posts before Tuesday!!

So sorry for the gain! Too many Christmas parties and goodies! I’m leaving for vacation tomorrow for a week, and as soon as I get back, I’m getting back on track. I do plan on eating well while I’m gone, so hopefully my weight will go down.

@lauren_989 Please excuse me from next Friday’s weigh in. I will be on vacation and will not have access to a scale. Thanks.

@wishfuljune got your weight this week. What would you like your weigh in day to be? I thought you were Saturday before. Maybe I'm mistaken.

    Saturday please! I will weigh-in tomorrow. 😊

This was a week where I made a promise to myself to get back on track with my workouts after being inconsistent, and I did. It probably helped a lot that work was very quiet and almost all of my meetings were cancelled with so many people out on PTO. I didn’t mind “working” during this week because it was so quiet, and I could actually get a lot of stuff done.

We made our Christmas dinner using all recipes from Skinnytaste, and it was delicious and guilt-free with leftovers. 😉 We made a roast beef, oven roasted potatoes, and green beans with mushrooms. Highly recommend her green beans with mushroom recipe if you like green beans casserole but want to try it without the condensed soup.

With new years’ around the corner, a good friend of mine told me that she is foregoing a resolution this year, and wants to focus on being present. She is going to keep doing the things she loves to do, but she’s not going to stress herself out if things don’t happen or go a certain way.

It got me thinking too: for as long as I can remember, I’ve had my resolution be fitness/health/weight related, and if I did not succeed by whatever timeline I put together, I would feel like I failed. So I’m following my friend’s lead to say no to “big idea” resolutions and yes to being present. I will keep doing what I’m doing, however I won’t create a timeframe for myself to achieve a certain weight by a certain time in the year. That way I can focus on me, in the present, and still celebrate my success, without stressing myself out or thinking I failed.

I got a slow cooker (crockpot) for Christmas, anyone have some good healthy recipes?

@wishfuljune I love your non-resolution of being present!

    Dec 27 exercise:
    5965 steps + 33 minutes Peloton

My butt hurt again yesterday but it was manageable and I was able to push myself to the best output so far on the bike this last week. Felt good!

Hey all. I was really sick the first week of December. Then, the next week I felt better, but had so much to catch up on at work and at home. The week after that (the week before Christmas) I ended up sick again with a cold. I pushed through to help make sure everything was ready for Christmas. Then, this week was Christmas and my husband has been sick all week.

Now that we're through the illnesses (hopefully), and Christmas is over, I should be able to get back to a routine that isn't just about surviving or catching up on everything.

I will try to read through as many of the posts as I can. I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season so far!
