This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Today's Topic: Happy New Year!

Okay, happy New Years Eve Eve - but since there’s no scheduled LTL tomorrow, I’m not stealing anybody’s topic.

How much of a risk is New Years to your weight management? Is it made easier by what you did for Christmas? Is it complicated or made easier by the ongoing Hanukkah events?

Happy Monday! New Years is a non-event.
I'm working for a good feeling next week...so sticking to tracking water, eating 2 fruits and 4veggies a day and - trying to be mindful on the food intake so that my rings start fitting right again.

    Thought of the day

Planning and studying how to do Push ups.
    And actually DOING push ups.
    Are NOT the same thing.
You have to take ACTION to make progress.

Not an issue here. We MIGHT see one of the kids or g'kids, but really not expecting anyone.
Since there is no WW meeting Wednesday, we might have ice cream instead of sugar free, cooked chocolate Jello pudding, with whipped topping.
Might have TOL's "meat cakes" (meat loaf cooked in a muffin tin) yom!

No plans for New Year Eve, I doubt we will stay up till midnight, we are having some friends over tomorrow for some Barbecue, smoking a pork butt, but I have not decided if I will do it for pulled pork of sliced pork shoulder yet. The rest of the meal will be pretty healthy.

This whole season has been a big challenge for me (and by "season," I mean starting in October!). I was at my lowest weight in a long time this year, and was doing pretty well overall. Then we were in Israel for a few months, and by the end of that trip, my weight was starting to creep up. Since then it's been a steady increase. I'm running about 10 pounds over my personal target weight (though still maintaining). I've been motivated to get back to weight-loss mode, but the current "season" (i.e., Hanukkah) has been hard because there have been a number of meals focused on things like latkes and donuts (traditional Hanukkah foods). We'll be staying up tonight, and we traditionally have rung-in-the-New-Year with wine and/or champagne. I hate to say it, but I'll throw myself down the stairs for the last day of the year and then start fresh tomorrow!

    Happy New Year everyone!

    LOL - you rookie, you.

I’m kidding, obviously, because a) you’re making a deliberate choice, and b) you’re able to identify that you’re doing that instead of being oblivious to
    It. 👍🏻
