I think it truly just depends on a person's genetic makeup. I also see a correlation between a higher starting weight (in my opinion, those with higher weights seem to lose large amounts quickly - then slow down as they get closer to goal.) I for one usually start out with pretty decent losses, then slow down drastically. And I'm sure diet also plays a roll. Many people who are on a Keto plan do tend to lose quickly as well. I'm a lot like you though - I'm happy with any loss - as long as the number is going down. <3

@lowriwilliams5012 - how long have you been on GLP-1 medications? I started Wegovy back in August 2023. I started at 257 lbs and as of this morning I am at 165.5 lbs. I never thought I would be able to get back to this weight. So I am currently down 91.5 lbs in 17 months. I don't follow any one particular eating plan. I know some people do low carb, or low fat, etc... I just eat normal, everyday foods and focus more on protein. Cut out fast foods and soda. Thankfully I've never had any side effects with the medication.

We hear more about the big losers, but I think there are just as many people that are slow at losing. I am a slow loser too. I've been on Wegovy since the end of Aug 2024 and am finally on the 2.4mg. I have only lost about 10 pounds. I say "only" because I need to lose a lot more. I also know that this 10 pounds is also through all the fall/winter holidays. My body is definitely very resistant to losing weight and I am still hopeful that Wegovy will keep on helping me.
