The football schedule this week is just the two NFL playoff games on Sunday - the NFC at 2:00 Central Time and the AFC at 5:30 Central Time. Who are you rooting for? Any comments on the coaching hires? This thread is here for all your football talk.

Rooting for Buffalo and against the Eagles.

And wondering if Mike McCarthy will be the Bill Beilichek of this hiring cycle.

Bill's Eagles, I have grown tired of Patrick Mahomes, and the whole Kelcie Swift story, and my wife is from Philadelphia so for the sake of peace in the house I will pull for the Igles

The Cowboys hired Brian Schottenheimer as head coach: Excuse me while I yawn.

And - fast forward to January 2028, do a Find and Replace on “Brian Schottenheimer” . . .

Not seeing this as a solution. Dion at least would have been entertaining.

What do you think of the growing trend in the NFL to go for it on 4th down instead of punting or kicking a field goal? I'm more of a traditionalist. I especially don't like the rugby scrum that the Eagles do. It should be illegal for other players to just push from behind. Isn't that already against the rules?

To tack on to my thoughts on going for it on 4th down, Buffalo went for it at midfield in the 4th quarter and failed. KC scored a few plays later. Hindsight is 20-20, but I would have rather played the field position game. The Bills' coach can think about that one all off-season.

In addition to going for it on 4th down, the number of times teams are going for a 2 point conversion was a bit of a shock to me, I believe I counted 6 such attempts yesterday between the games. I am not a fan of either strategy.

I agree totally about going for two. Reminds me of how the NBA has fallen in love with the 3-point shot. As much as they shoot 3s, the NBA should add a 5-point line like the Harlem Globetrotters use.

As a lifelong Cowboys fan, I dislike both the Philadelphia team and the Washington team. I've never cheered for Washington. I did cheer for Philly many years ago, when William Thomas played linebacker for them; he went to my high school - about 5-6 years younger than me. I remember him as a little kid at the corner store that was in our neighborhood. I still am not a fan of the team, however.

I am bemused by Buffalo - the eternal bridesmaid team of the NFL. I am tired of KC, but I give them 100% credit for what they have built.

I honestly don't give much of a flip who wins the SB, but I probably will cheer for KC over Philly. Rivalries are difficult to overcome.

Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike Jerry Jones?
