WEIGH IN UPDATE
WEIGH INS DUE NOW: @askewcr @Jactop
Reminder To Weigh In Tomorrow To: @Cornanda @davors19 @bethanie0825 @trooworld @Katmary71
@morenin I'm sorry I misread yours and did have it, the people below and above you hadn't weighed in and my eyesight sucks. Ignore it and I'll get it Sunday. I really hope you feel better soon.1 -
@trooworld Yikes that's some cold water! Great job doing your own thing and getting the workout done, I'd have been frustrated too but I'm glad you toughed it out and got a good workout in. I loved the Y when I tried it I hope it's something that would work for you. That's not the gym with no parking I hope?
@TeresaW2024 Thank goodness your niece is done with her ex, I agree with you about him needing real serious intervention. Once her ex gets his stuff they all can start healing, I hope it's done soon.
@laurelfit57 That's ok no worries. Oh no I hope you're feeling better soon, I'm sure the screen is awful for your head right now. Keep feeling better we miss you (but understand).
Hi team! Been having issues with the cold though it's not horrible cold just my nerve issues, I'm spending a lot of time in bed trying to get warm. I was at the greenhouse alone for the first time in a long time, I really miss that but appreciate the help too. I'm headed to the tub have a great Friday! Did great with no sugar today and my workout.2 -
@Katmary71 – peanut butter cookies are my favorite (because peanut butter is my favorite). There is an Olde English style bakery about a 20 minute drive away from me that sells fantastic ones. But I will order two and only get two. Then the next day I will fixate and want more and try to hold out until getting them from almost anywhere else will do. Eventually I will be eating a whole pan of the ready to bake at home ones and the cycle runs thru for months until I somehow break free after I’ve eaten all the sweet things. Idk how to break the habit and I hate how I get derailed with them but it happens everytime.
@vegan4lyfe2012 - I once ate a whole box of gingersnaps years ago when I had COVID. They were the only things I wanted besides chicken broth and ice water. I have not had another since though I do like them.
I feel like January has been the longest month at this point. I really hate cold weather and it has been colder than average. I still go to the office twice a week and teach my step classes at the gyms twice a week but anytime I have to leave the house I am annoyed! LOL

My appetite is improving so I've got to watch this. I am doing well. Therapy is going well and I'm back upstairs. I'm able to walk up and down stairs with ease using my cane. I'm bending my knee to 110 degrees and the goal is 120. There is pain from time to time but I'm glad I had the surgery.
Let's go get it!

@TeresaW2024 It is good! I hate cold weather, too. Luckily, it only gets down to about 40F in the mornings during the winter. It's still cold and remains kind of cold all day in the winter (50-60s). I'm glad you didn't have to go anywhere. I'm sorry about your niece. Will she get some therapy? Yay for day 18!!!
@AnAbsoluteDiva I have made chia pudding before and I like it! I can't have it right now (no seeds or nuts or anything like that for a while yet) but I look forward to having it again. Good tip about stirring halfway through. You sound like you prepare well for outings! Thank you for the tips!
@laurelfit57 Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry. Big hugs. Take care of yourself.
@Katmary71 Oh the water wasn't too bad: it was 86F. But the air made it seem colder lol. Thank you! No, the Y has plenty of parking. And the city pool I went to had plenty of parking as well. I hope it warms up soon for both of our sakes. Yay for no sugar and a workout!
@AprilRaineyBattle As far as I'm concerned, spring can't come soon enough! It was warm outside yesterday (maybe low 70s) but it started off really cold (40s). I hate cold.
@askewcr I'm glad you are making progress. Congrats on the loss!
Hi all. I went through the books that had overgrown our bookcase and got together 4 bags of books to trade in at the used bookstore. I just worked yesterday (from home). I go back to work in the office on Monday. I've been bored at home by myself so I look forward to going back. I just hope my energy stays up. I have a couple of options for water aerobics: I can get a day pass for the YMCA (there are about 5 locations to choose from) for $15 or I can go to one of the multiple (maybe 6?) city pools for $4. I made plans to go on Sunday. I may go tonight to the Y's class, we'll see. I lost 1.8 lbs this week: I thought I would lose more but that's okay, that's a good rate of loss.

@AnAbsoluteDiva, I love your advice on how to help distract kids. The oldest is 11, and the jerk of a human is his dad. The girls are 7 and 4, and the baby (his other kid) is only one. We did do our best to keep them busy when they were here by doing crafts and playing games. We even had a dance party! My niece told me yesterday how thankful she is to have a family who will take her in and help her. She is fully aware of how hard women have it when they find themselves in an abusive relationship. Thinking of those women and kids is heartbreaking, and I’m thankful for people like you who volunteer at the shelters.
@Katmary71 Good job on no sugar and working out. I hope it warms up for you soon so you feel better. I smiled thinking of just you and the plants having your moment.
@AprilRaineyBattle Longest month of the year!!!!
@DrewsAnna You need to talk to that food noise and tell it to shut up! Can you pinpoint what is causing the noise and figure out how to redirect your thoughts? You got this!
@askewcr I’m glad you are feeling better, but you are right now that you are feeling better you need to watch how much you are eating. You will figure it out.
@trooworld My niece was seeing a therapist. I need to ask if that is still going on. She needs it for sure! Congrats on your weight loss! How great that you have so many options to choose from for water aerobics. We always wish it was more but down is down and 1.8 is great!
Good morning! The POS came yesterday with a sheriff and got the rest of his stuff. My niece told us that he is big mad! OH well!! This month has been insane, and I agree with April that it’s been way too long! Today, I have my ortho appointment to see about my wrist. I hate spending money on it, but the pain has to stop! You all have a great day!
I saw this quote and thought how perfect it was. This week's drama could have easily derailed my plan, but I didn't let it because I adapted instead of quitting.
"In theory, consistency is about being disciplined, determined, and unwavering.
In practice, consistency is about being adaptable. Don't have much time? Scale it down. Don't have much energy? Do the easy version. Find different ways to show up depending on the circumstances. Let your habits change shape to meet the demands of the day.
Adaptability is the way of consistency."

@AprilRaineyBattle Sounds like an awesome bakery but if it sets off a cookie binge I see why you should avoid it. It HAS been a long month hasn't it?!
@DrewsAnna Oh no I'm sorry to hear that about food noise, grr.
@askewcr Great news you're doing so much already after surgery, I'm glad you feel satisfied surgery was worth it. Keep getting it!
@trooworld that's great news on accessible pools I felt your frustration at the crowded gym. Wow awesome job on taking all the books to trade in! Some good options is the YMCA pool inside or outside? That's a great loss wtg!
@TeresaW2024 I'm glad POS got his stuff, not too fun when someone's bossing HIM around is it? I love the quote thanks for sharing it.
Hi team! Not much to report, I stayed on track and worked out, didn't have to work so I went to the greenhouse and the grocery store. My roommate and I are watching Yellowstone then it's bedtime. Tomorrow's a seed swap, I'm taking farm seeds but may go through mine as I have a lot I can share. Have a great Saturday!1 -

@TeresaW2024 Oh good. Thank you! Yes, I am very lucky that there are a lot of options around here for water aerobics. Yes, we do! I'm glad the POS got his stuff. Do you think that he could be dangerous? Like, seek retribution? It has seemed like a long month lol. I hope the doctor can help your wrist. Thank you for sharing that quote, it is REALLY good! I am going to share it on another thread!
@Cornanda Congrats on the loss!
@Katmary71 Yes, I'm very happy I have so many options! I haven't taken them in to trade YET but I hope to tomorrow. I can't believe I'm getting rid of so many books! The Y pools vary: some are indoor and some are outdoor. The one I was going to go to last night was outdoor but I didn't end up going (it was too cold and I couldn't talk myself into it lol). Thank you! How's the roommate situation going? Sounds like it's going well. I hope you have a great day.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What makes you "you"?
Loyalty (I've been going to the same therapist for 30+ years, hairdresser for 20 years, I've been at the same job for 11 years, same best friend for 45 years etc), creativity (both artistic-wise and creative thinking), honesty.
Hi all. I have a busy day ahead of me: at 8 am, we are going bird-watching with the Audubon Society. I don't know how long I will last, it's a 3-hour event and it's a lot of walking, some of it uphill. I don't know if my knee will last. I will bring my cane. We also have to go get groceries and then at 3, I have to take the car in for routine maintenance. We started watching a movie called "Thelma" last night: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt23778968/ It's a comedy about a 93-year-old woman who gets scammed so she seeks revenge. It's enjoyable so far. We will probably finish it tonight.

@trooworld, it’s hard to say if he could be dangerous. He does have two legal guns. I think what will help is that he has a good sense of self-preservation and hates the idea of going to jail, which will hopefully keep my niece and the kids safe. I hope you get some good bird pics and your knee holds up.
Hello, just a quick pop-in. I went to the ortho and paid the $600 for another Cortisol shot. Why it cost so much is a great mystery to me. Maybe it’s the nice office space they lease that is to blame. Anyway, he said I could get another shot if this one lasts six months or more. After that, we will need to talk about surgery. So, I’m praying that doesn’t happen!! The rest of my Saturday is housework, laundry, and Joe’s shower. I did a Body Groove workout, and now my quads are hurting. You wouldn’t think you could get such a good workout dancing, but believe me, you can!
ICE BREAKER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What makes you "you"?
Interesting question! My faith is the most critical piece of who I am and the main thing that I hope people see first. Other things that make me who I am are my humor, common sense, ability to see the big picture, optimism, and generosity.

@gemwolf110 Oh no feel better soon!
@micaroo4 You got this! Winter is definitely a challenging time but you've done so well staying in maintenance I have no doubt you'll reign it in.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What makes you “you”? Usual adjectives I hear are sweet, kind, determined, strong, friendly, a little hot-headed, stubborn, studious, and a good listener. I'm also always on time and conscous of other's time and preferences and very reliable. And nerdy!
@trooworld Swimming has to be the hardest exercise to talk ourselves into especially in winter! Roommate situation is going great, I'll post a little more about that. Have a wonderful time bird watching, I hope your knee does well but it's smart thinking to bring your cane. Movie sounds fun let us know if you enjoyed it.
@Digger61 How are you doing? Are you recovering well from your transplant? I hope so I think about you often. I can't even imagine how tough of a recovery that is.
@TeresaW2024 Prayers POS follows his self-preservation instincts! Shoot I'm sorry to hear how much the shot cost and hope it kicks in fast. This is one of the times I wish I could experiment with my micro current machine with you but you're too far away!
Hi team! I'm up over a pound so trying to do well but am going to my neighbor's for dinner tonight.. I went to a seed swap with my other neighbor and I won the raffle of garden stuff which is fun. There was a book sale at the library so I came home with good ones too. Have a great Sunday friends.1 -

@TeresaW2024 I will be thinking of you guys. I didn't take my camera, I don't have a long enough zoom lens, so I was just watching the birds (literally) yesterday! I hope the shot works and you don't need surgery.
@Katmary71 Yes! I'm glad your roommate situation is going great. We really enjoyed "Thelma". I would recommend it if you are into independent films.
Hi all. I am going to keep this pretty short. I am getting sick with something (there is a bad flu going around, I hope it's not that)...I have mild congestion and a sore throat, feeling tired/weak. Bird watching was fun but we only stayed an hour (I didn't want to overdo it with my knee).

Hi, I am still feeling awful, but I think I've figured out the problem. I take vitamin supplements because I have IBS bad enough I don't absorb all the vitamins from my food. My health improved when I started supplementing, and in particular, my previously low blood iron level rose to normal. Well, at least 2 weeks ago, I ran out of my iron supplement, and neglected to get around to replacing it in a timely manner... I gave myself iron deficiency, which is why I spent last week feeling awful. I've ordered all the vitamins I need to restock, and will try to get back on track fast. Even so, I expect it will take up to 2 weeks to fully recover. Until then I will continue watching my food intake (with the help of the phentermine pill), but will hold off on exercise until I can stand in the shower again! (Baths for me for a bit longer I guess.)3

@TeresaW2024 I’ve set a goal to just not have cookies at all for now. At least until I have been at goal/maintenance for a while and can try them again as a treat every once in a while only. Being at home with no kids makes it easy enough as they are not my husband’s go-to. When he does get them, he will get some with chocolate chips since I am allergic and he knows I won’t touch them.
I finished the 21 Day Fix workout plan this morning and I felt really accomplished. Last time I did it was 3 years ago. I am down a clothing size and very happy with the results. I will continue on to 21 Day Fix Extreme in February. I like that the workouts are short and effective, and the entire program can be completed in a month even when I take a few extra rest days.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: What makes you “you”?
I am versatile, liking a variety of all kinds of things in many different categories including music, books, exercises, foods, etc. so I can relate to or fit in with just about anyone. I am analytic and love challenges and all kinds of games and puzzles. I am "bouncy" according to my husband and kids - always moving/dancing/jumping around. I also have a pretty calm disposition and am smart, stable and dependable.
