    Good morning!

Connie is being put on an even more restrictive diet. She is not supposed to eat read meat, whole grains, pasta, whole wheat bread, dairy, oils, fried food, fatty food. This leaves a very narrow window of what she can eat. I'm not sure how to come up with menus right now. I am taking this on as a challenge. We did eat out last night, poor choices, added to her frustration. She is getting a full blood workup this morning. They keep ruling out things, but still have not found the root cause of the IBS and anemia issues on top of her diabetes. She's sort of falling apart.

We might see 50 degrees today! Woot! There is STILL snow on the ground. This is very unusual for us. Usually the snow melts off much more quickly.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Sorry about Connie's diet challenges, Steve. Hope you find a path forward.

Still chilly and dry here. This is really strange for us. Hardly any rain in the entire month of January. There is a slight chance of snow to start February off.

Still suffering a head cold. I start to feel better, then relapse. The usual cycle for a cold, I guess.

Oh Steve I can't even imagine what connie is dealing with. Sending lots of prayers her way.
Yesterday hit 52 degrees in PDX after a start around 25 deg. Today it's dropped to at least 24 degrees and was a nippy ride for me.
Yup as Dave says a slight chance of snow or snow mixed coming up around Monday-ish.
    Sorry about that head cold.
Will go to "urgent "-ish care with DW this PM . she did a nasty slice on her finger which we bandaged kinda tightly after cleaning with sterile saline spray. I put a pinch of Mupirocin mixed with sterile vaseline on the bandaid. Needs to be looked at though.
    Always something. riiiiight????

    Good Morning

Thanks for the guidance on the bikes Sam. I prayed that the DWs finger is easily resolved and quickly healed.

Steve, Connie's diet is not an easy one. It sounds like the one I was on quite a while after radiation when my stomach first went south. I was also limited to small salads. More fruit than veggies. Ultimately I lost interest in cooking so I understand. But chicken, lightly seasoned, soups (no beans), small salads, potato etc got me through. I probably should try going back on it but my symptoms come and go and I am not sure it is worth it to me to disrupt the family just I have started handling the cooking again. I do avoid spicy food, severely limit coffee and be careful with fried foods.

Yesterday we explored a hiking/bike path near our house that cuts through some a small woodsy area. Rather cool in there! It was good to get out. Went over a mile and a half. It wasn't too long ago 10+ minutes would tighten up my back. Today is Humphrey Bogart movie day at the cinema. "To Have and Have Not" is today's feature. Try for a walk afterward to stretch the legs. We have a few errands to take care of as well.

    Afternoon gents.

Visiting DB and DSIL in NH. Took a 20 minute walk around the block and nearly froze. Windchill 3°. Both have climbed all 48 of the 4,000 foot and higher mtns in NH and now are limping around the house. Getting old I guess. He’s getting back surgery in a few weeks, maybe will help.

We had steak and potatoes with a delicious salad last night. Pizza out tonight. They don’t eat a lunch.

Sam, keeping you in prayers. And Connie too, Steve.

Lee, your recipes always sound awesome.

    Be OP. Onward and downward.
