Kelly, just reading about your allergy test made me itchy, lol. I hope you figure it all out. It's good information for the spring / summer to come. Good luck. Your anniversary at the cabin sounds wonderful.
Sarah, I'm hoping to see an update on your treatments. . been thinking about you. Going every day has got to be hard.
I'm still just not 100%. I had a golf lesson today though, but I felt a bit dizzy and weak. And, I still don't have as much appetite as I'm used to having. Seeing the doc tomorrow.
Sorry for the short post, gotta go with a busy day.

Never thought I'd be happy about a higher number, but I think this indicates that my gut is finally getting back to normal. Day 3 of radiation is now in the books. Hubby's back was hurting this morning and his work has been busy, so I went by myself for the treatment. Parking was a little dicier today, but the traffic was good for the third day in a row. So thankful for that. After the treatment I went to the mall to buy February birthday cards and walk a bit. The mall near my radiation site is really nice and it's fun to people watch while I walk. My TM is still making a noise, so I'm holding my breath for its demise. I know I have to get a new one, but you guys know how fond I am of this old Precor. Tomorrow I have both treatment and will meet with my radiation doc. I've been told they will also take photos tomorrow!
Kelly, I am glad they determined what was causing your eye to swell and I hope all those itchy patches reveal the reason for the eyelid symptoms. I went through all those allergy tests myself back when I had that "face thing." Unfortunately, I was allergic only to something called Bronopol and I didn't seem to have been exposed to anything with that. So the facial horrow is still a mystery and one I hope never recurrs. Glad to hear you were able to get away and relax on your anniversary.
Sheesh, it does seem like we get better just as soon as it's time for our medical appointment, but I've learned the hard way not to cancel one because I think I'm on the mend. Invariably, if I do, the feeling better lasts for only a day or two and then I'm back to having symptoms and waiting for yet another appointment. So keep that appointment tomorrow!
Lois, good news that you have the sister trip all nailed down. Hope the Friday PT brings you some relief.
And thank you everyone for all the good vibes you are sending my way.
Now before I go, here are my 7-day averages. I expect these to deteriorate as treatment progresses, but as everyone has urged me, I am going to do what I am able to do and feel well enough to do, knowing that this won't last forever. I am also learning that I have to let some of the things I do in the house go undone a little longer than usual because my day has that big break in the middle. But so far, House Beautiful has not shown up. LOL

Sarah - So glad to hear that the treatments aren't kicking your butt too much. You're such a trooper and it's lovely to hear how positive you are. And I love that you're getting back to the mall for some walking. Any little bit of movement helps our bodies in so many ways. I can't wait until our winter is done. I love walking outside but don't love it in winter.
Sheesh - Man, you just can't seem to get rid of whatever is pulling your energy away. Hopefully the Doc can help you with that. Hopefully it's something simple like a vitamin deficiency or something. Keep us posted.
Lois - I love how much you get to go to Disney. I hope your PT helps out with your back. Hugs
Yesterday they took the patches off and didn't see much. They said there were a couple that were potentially irritated but they won't know until today's appointment to be sure if it's an actual allergy. My guess is they find nothing. I'm just happy that I now know what is causing my eye swelling. I can handle the itchy and redness that happens on occasion.
Not being able to do any kind of workout or walking (or showering for that matter lol) for the past few days has been brutal. It's funny how once you are told not to do something, it's all you want to do. I just wanted to hop on that treadmill and walk and walk or pick up some weights, but nope.. I wasn't allowed to do anything physical cause it might get the patches wet. So after today's appointment, tonight I've promised myself to hop on that treadmill and do something. I did have to take my pup for a quick little walk around the block yesterday, cause he was going nutty, but that's it.
I am going to create myself some new goals this weekend and really try to stick to them. I'm tired (literally) of feeling so crappy and down all the time. I see pictures of myself and cringe. Something needs to be done.0 -
Sheesh - .8lb reduction!! WOW. I sure hope you get to feeling better soon and hopefully the doc will have some answers for you.
Sarah - so happy the radiation treatments are going well and you're finding an upside with the mall nearby. Smile for the pictures today!!! Also, what happened with Toni? Did you ever reconnect and possibly get back to walking with her? And remember, treadmills are best priced in January, so you may want to choose before you have to settle. Just a thought.
Kelly, your cabin life sounds marvelous!! I don't want your winters tho. And I really hope that they are able to find some sort of allergy that is causing your symptoms. It royally sucks when they don't have an answer. Hoping Ella's recovery is continuing at a rapid pace and she gets back to hockey soon. And I don't know how you went without showers. I dunno if I could've done it... And you're so right about wanting to do the things that you could've done yesterday, but because today they told you no, you really want to do it. I feel ya! And yes, Disney is our cabin.
Disneyland. We are leaving tomorrow night for a weekend visit...back Sunday afternoon. But we've both been missing it. But I am getting a little concerned...lol.... hubby keeps asking if we're in a position for HIM to retire! Uh NO!! And he can't until I can as well and that's not for another 4.5 years - MINIMUM!!! Yeah...he's not gonna do that without me! And I do love my job. And my job allows for Disneyland on a monthly basis...lol
I've been doing well for the past three days of logging my food. I'm using the last formula for my goals from years ago since I don't want to go "Premium" at the moment. This is my one goal for now. Just log my food and see where my bloodwork looks like in April. I'm going to schedule the bloodwork for April 4 and a follow up with the doc the week of the 14th. Since booking the sister's trip, I haven't had a chance to think about these two appointments, but I will get on it next. My back is still slightly twingey and I do still take one muscle relaxer at bedtime to ensure I get good rest. I might need two while at Disney, but hubby will be doing all of the driving because of the meds. I prefer to drive the city section, but since we won't get into Cali hotel room until 2am Friday night driving, I will not be able to drive at 7am on Saturday. We'll see how I feel Sunday afternoon when we leave if I'm up to driving us out to Palm Springs (about 2 hours) and then turn the driving over to him for the remainder. He's prepared to drive it all...I have to prepare for his frustration at the other city people (particularly the 93, 55, to the 5 is super duper congested) until the Disneyland exit. And we are staying onsite at the Disneyland Hotel this round. I'm excited about this. I love DLH!! Oh and in case I didn't tell you, it's also the Disney half marathon weekend. Boo that I wasn't able to register but yay I might see some cool merchandise as an inspiration. The next race is in September...and tix go on sale in March. I don't belong to rundisney and they have first choice, but maybe I can get in on the virtual if I can't get the on-site. 5k Friday/10k Saturday you have to run better than a 17 min mile to not get taken off by the balloon team. So not only do I need to get moving, I need to get faster (and I'm not sure I ever beat a 17 min mile).
Hope everyone does well the remainder of the week and I'll check back post Disney.
