This week's challenge will give us daily opportunities to discuss new discoveries under various categories. I will post the topics daily and your daily post will be to share things you have discovered to help your wellness journey under those topics. I recently found a few new things and it made me wonder if others had to, so this will be the time to share those. We always need new ideas. I hope you'll put your thinking cap on and bring your creativity. Every time we share, others get new inspiration.

My new food obsession is Gochujang!

It's a fermented Korean chilli paste, it's so umami and not overly spicy and I just love it. I made a dressing with equal amounts gochujang, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, and add garlic, ginger, and some toasted sesame oil and have it tossed with slices cucumber and wombok. I throw through some steamed chicken or a can of tuna for lunch. It's so fresh and delicious, and great for using my glut of cucumbers from the garden and battling the heat.

Last night I used the same dressing for a stir fry with tofu, and added some coconut aminos. Delicious!

I bought a tub for the first time last week and I think I've had it every day.

Oh, I was looking at gochujang in a Korean shop last week. I'll buy some on Monday now that you've given it such a good thumbs up 👍 I bought green chilli hemp oil, which is really nice too. I had it with gyoza dumplings 😋

New food, well there is two. The first is beef heart prepared in a slow cooker. The second is hard boiled egg mayo. Both are so very yummmmy!

    Quesadillas
My son found a recipe in one of his reading books and really wanted to try it. All 3 of us enjoyed it, we might try it again with a different filling inside

    Cavalo Nero
From the kale family. We just boiled it and had it as a side veg, very nice and full of vitamins and iron

I had dim sum last week. I've had various dumplings but these were little open parcels filled with with pork, so that was different. I steamed them and ate them with potato noodles and miso paste soup with vegetables. I drizzled some chilli hemp oil over then. Very nice!

I also had Korean fried fish snack strips. Weird but tasty.

@Emilienewme I like quesadillas. I filled it with haggis, mashed potato and chilli baked beans a couple of weeks ago. Mix it up with whatever you have and enjoy.

I am not as adventurous when it comes to foods 😂

For me it's trying new recipes with ingredients I like.

Last week, the delivery person who delivered my groceries from The Fresh Market and I got to talking...we're both on a health journey and starting sharing information, experiences and tips for healthier eating. She asked if she could give me something after I shared with her that I had recently discovered lentils and she brought me a whole box of Tasty Bite Madras Lentils...they're only 150 calories per serving and only take 1 minute to heat in the microwave...they are smooth, have great flavor, are not too spicy for me and are not grainy...taste very nice and make a quick side dish with baked chicken!! I was very impressed with the flavor. She and I exchanged emails and I sent her a link to our support team...perhaps she will join us one day. I'm enjoying keeping in touch and was very blessed by her gift. So, that's my discovery and since that time, I've also ordered Tasty Bite Protein bowls...one that has a Mexican flavor and one with an Indian flavor. Cannot wait to try these plant-based protein bowls!!

New food for me is kimchi. I never liked the smell but decided to try it and I love it. Also, trying different whole grains such as barley which I like but need a flavorful dish to go with it.

I do the same but have also been switching to products with fewer ingredients. Like going from using Jif to Natural peanut butter.

I received a box of these and a box of Seeds of Change quinoa and brown rice with garlic from a neighbor who was moving. Used them as sides for halibut.

I have also been using more seasonings like everything but the salt, Italian, cinnamon and cocoa baking powder.

Also lindt 70% extra dark truffles and chocolate teddy graham 🤷‍♀️

    Garlic Parm chicken.
Which I find I don't like! Way to much garlic for me.

Monday - I started doing 20-30 minutes of yoga in the mornings now that the puppy gets me up super early. I'm hooked. It's a great way to stretch out and feel bendy for the rest of the day!

Sunday - My new food is kind of weird, it's liquid egg whites. I found out you can add some to oatmeal at the last minute or two of cooking and it will add protein and make the oatmeal sort of creamy and fluffy. Also I add extra egg whites to my scrambled or fried whole eggs to increase the protein.

Monday - I've started doing some specific skills training in yoga like middle splits and backbends and I hope to eventually build up to doing arm balances or even handstands. It's been helping my mobility and makes my body feel more capable because my upper back is normally hopelessly tight and sore.

Monday-I do yogaburn DVDs which are a higher intensity yoga. Helps me stretch out, focus on specific muscles, move with every breath, and sweat all at once. It's a love/hate relationship right now.

Monday-what new exercise am I liking? It is a toss-up between the rowing machine and the exercise ball for Pilates. Both are new to me. I like both really well. I feel awkward with the ball. I keep falling off of it lol.

    I recently discovered rucking

My daughter is ice skating, so we are at the rink quite a few hours every weeks. A year or so ago I started walking around the top of the rink, sometimes with some other mums. No I bring my backpack, put some dumbbells in and walk with added weights. It is meant to be good for bone density

Newest exercise, although not completely new, is body pump class! I love it! I haven't been in the last 3 weeks and I can't go for at least 3 more, when hopefully my 10 pound lift restriction will be over.

I tried my friend's vibration plate. My brain was vibrating in my skull and I was afraid I might get a concussion!
I bought myself a walking pad, a type of under-desk treadmill. It's ok, but limited. Can't walk too fast and have to pay strict attention because the tread is narrow and short compared to a traditional treadmill.

My newest workout routine is evening yoga practice. I'm hoping it will help my sleep, but no luck so far.

2lnhkd0qyrix.jpg I don't have a new exercise and haven't been doing much lately. I found this and thought it would be fun to do and spell out other words on different days.

I like my hula-hoop and hand weights but they're not new.

What's the newest exercise you're liking?

Well, it isn't new, but I haven't been riding a bike much since I broke my old one. But this afternoon, with a clear sky and mild temperature, I went on a 10⅓ mile ride on my new bike.

Today, I was trying to encourage a young student to use English and let his imagination run, with little prompts from me. It started with him talking about a satellite falling to earth and destroying him, through 'what would he do if he only had a week left?', becoming fertiliser, glue, jelly and ending up as spare rocket fuel for Elon's Mars trip.

It may be an odd topic, but he talked and we laughed.

It's been a rough few weeks, but my puppy makes me genuinely smile. He's such a fool, and a silly baby, and I just adore him.

Tuesday-my kids will always make me smile. Recently my 16 month old had one of my exercise bands around both arms and was doing squats while I was working out and he was laughing the entire time. I'm glad he enjoys exercising, lol. Me and my older kids were laughing with him, made my workout more enjoyable too.
