GLP-1 Nausea 😒

Hi. New girl here. I’ve lost about 130lbs since 2017. And for the past two years or so I’ve been staying steady around 255-260. Had a baby last year, and I’ve put on 10lbs since she was born. I’m one week in on GLP-1 injections to help me hopefully kickstart my body and lose the rest of this weight. They weren’t joking about the 36 hour mark of nausea. It’s killer. I just took my second dose on Monday and the 36 hour mark hit this morning hard. But I’m also throwing up sometimes after I eat. Has anyone else experienced this? Currently feel like I’m dying from the nausea. 😭

Welcome to the group! Though my doctor has told me to lose weight, she hasn't out right told me to take medication. Honestly I haven't asked. I don't get 'hungry' and I've never had a problem losing weight. My problem is sticking to what I need to do long term.

I do however get motion sickness very easily. I don't like ginger but I have read that it can calm nausea. You can try dimenhydrinate tablets for motion sickness at any store. When you can have a fan blowing air on your face and maybe a cold rag on your forehead. I know the last two will be difficult with a baby.

I hope you feel better soon

Sorry, I don't have any experience with weight loss drugs. You may also want to ask your doctor for advice or an anti-nausea meds. Actually nurses have the best advice, but they can't prescribe unless it's a nurse practitioner.

Peppermint too... tea, or capsules, may help.

    Gingerale or ginger tea.

    Sip 7up.

I have not used glp-1s, moreso for nausea with flu.

I’m on ozempic and have had a few bouts of nausea. The first time it went away on its own and the second time it took ondansetron for it. It worked great. My doctor prescribed it.

Your doctor will prescribe you zofram to counteract the nausea. Injection site also makes a big difference on how your body reacts. You should try different locations each week and keep a log of the results. Arms legs stomach
