5. What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. I live near New Bedford Massachusetts. Historically New Bedford was a wealthy whaling city, now it is an important working fishing port
6. What are your health/fitness goals for this season? Want to get my blood sugar under 5.7
7. Do you like Spring? Why or why not? I love spring so much after a long grey frozen winter

I’m generally happy with my fitness, but I want to get back down to the weight I was at ~4 years ago.7. Do you like Spring? Why or why not? I like spring because it’s “alive” and sunny but cool

5. What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. My house is an hour south east of Birmingham AL, Mom's is an hour north of Birmingham.

14. Anything else you would like to share? I spend most of my time at mom's since she had a stroke. She loves to work in her garden and is very sneaky about getting out of the house without me knowing. So I have my hands full.1 -

4. How many 5% Challenges have you completed? Please share some of the "Wins" that keep you coming back. I think I've done about three and what keeps me coming back is structure and meeting new people

6. What are your health/fitness goals for this season? I would like to drink less soda and more water
7. Do you like Spring? Why or why not? I love Spring because I hate cold, so the warm weather always makes me happy.

- How did you learn about the 5% Challenges? I joined the 5% Challenges with Sparks in 2010. I found out about them after they had already started their first round. I was put on a waitlist with a bunch of made friends with a particular lady and she told me about the 5% challenges. She eoncouraged me to join but I was not on her team the first time. I was with The Butterflies (or something like that). However, after that I was on the Teddy Bears until the end. I made lots of friends and came over to MFP when SP closed.
- How many 5% Challenges have you completed? Please share some of the "Wins" that keep you coming back. I have been on all the 5% since 2011 so about 60. The “wins” are achieving and being accountable for my goals and most important the friendship that I have made throughout the years.
- What major city do you live in or near? State? I just moved to Round Rock, Texas from Florida and I am literally getting to know the area.
- What are your health/fitness goals for this season? I want to be healthy, gain strength and reach my goal weight.
- Do you like Spring? I love Spring for various reasons. Things start to bloom, the weather is perfect, my birthday, my son’s and granddaughters.

- Anything else you would like to share? I am a retired teacher, mother of 2 adult sons and grandma to one beautiful almost 2 year old girl. I am also the oldest of 7 and have lived in 8 states including this new move to Texas.

4. How many 5% Challenges have you completed? Please share some of the "Wins" that keep you coming back. Quite a few. I was very successful in one challenge, and have mostly managed to just maintain on the others. I keep coming back for the community and accountability.

5. What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. Although I live in SC, I live very close to Charlotte, NC. I am originally from NY near West Point.
6. What are your health/fitness goals for this season? To stay at my weight and keep strong and stay active
7. Do you like Spring? Why or why not? I love Spring because of the beautiful weather
8. What are your favorite Spring activities? I walk all year long but in the spring it is much more pleasant! I play some pickleball and am considering taking up golf again after a break.
9. What is your favorite type of Spring exercise? Just being out with my husband and dogs walking or hiking.

- How did you learn about the 5% Challenges? I found it by browsing the MFP groups
- How many 5% Challenges have you completed? Please share some of the "Wins" that keep you coming back. I have only participated/completed one 5% challenge and was very successful in going from 142.8 to 128.8 in only eight weeks! This was a very supportive group. I hope to be more of an active participant this session. Sometimes, life gets in the way. 😉
- What major city do you live in or near? State? Tell us a bit about where you live. I live on a fishing lake halfway between Akron and Youngstown Ohio. There are only a handful of houses on my street and the smallest lot is around five acres. While we are only five miles north of Alliance it seems like we are totally isolated. It is very quiet and there is an abundance of wildlife—most of whom love to eat my flowers. In addition, since this is a quiet place, people feel free to drop off their unwanted cats/dogs. I do not know what they expect will happen to their old pets, but coyotes, owls, eagles, cars, and starvation seem to take most of them. We feed five feral cats and a beat-up looking opossum.
- What are your health/fitness goals for this season? This session I would like to learn how to maintain my weight loss so that I do not need to start all over again, and again, and again...
- Do you like Spring? Why or why not? Spring is great. It is always an opportunity to start anew.
- What are your favorite Spring activities? I enjoy gardening.
- What is your favorite type of Spring exercise? I do not have a favorite. Sometimes I am lucky just to get exercise (other than running my mouth).

- What always cheers you up? I enjoy watching animals. They can be so comical
- Do you have a diet or fitness tip to share? OMG, recording EVERYTHING that goes into my mouth. My highest weight was 222 and now I weigh 125—I credit it to logging all food/fluids consumed.
- Please share two fun things about you. Right now, I cannot think of two fun things—but it is spring and a new chapter is starting.
- Anything else you would like to share? I am a retired RN and the caregiver for my husband of 52 years and my mother. The 5% challenge was something I did for myself without compromising the needs of my family.
