sorry my steps sucked last week. Sunday I forgot to wear my watch and then I didn’t know it had died for mon and Tues. My back has been bothering so much I have been wearing a brace and added on more meds. I really didn’t want to but I’m in so much and I have a pretty high tolerance. We booked our 30th anniversary trip to Aruba in April. Not sure how I’m going to do much but as long as I’m away it’s ok. I would love to be able to start walking again but that will have to wait a bit. I do yoga twice a week. I am easing myself into because I don’t like it.

I am so annoyed with myself! I had a very stressful week and wasn't tracking anything.

My daughter had her hospital appointment on Thursday, I have been worried over it for weeks and work has been awkward giving me a couple of hours off to take her to the hospital. My daughter is 13, has done ballet and ice skating for years and absolutely love both, we thought she might be told she would have to stop. It actually was a much better news than we were expecting, she doesn't need surgery and can keep being active within reason (still no jump, pointe shoes or running) although the trauma doctor said it might take another 18month before her ankles are back to normal.

sorry I’m a day late but I waited a day because I knew it wouldn’t be accurate. I want out to dinner on Thursday with my Granddaughters. We had burgers, fries & ice cream. No regrets. We had so much fun! 💕

@JenSamuel94 - Better late than never! As for struggling with weight, you are not alone. Is there anything in particular that you struggle with? Food? Self control? Exercise? Sleep? Lots of different variables are involved.

Honestly I’m unsure. I haven’t been working consistently (PRN) so I don’t get enough steps. I could be more active- I’m striving for 5000 steps a day but sometimes that’s hard for me. As for food, I eat pretty healthy but I think I have issues with portion control? Or eat too many snacks esp when coming home from work or when I’m stressed. I also have PCOS so maybe my metabolism is a little slow from that…. Ugh.

    Weigh in day: Monday

    PW: 268.3
    CW: 267.6

This week was a step in the right direction. I did better with meal planning and making better choices.

    Goals for the week:

    • Strength train 3x
    • Mobility 2x
    • Drink 2L of water daily, minimum
    • Read for 10 minutes daily
    • Stay within calorie range (2000-2400 calories)

@JenSamuel94 - I mean, you only had a gain of 0.2 pounds, which is really just a maintain for the week. It could be that your body is holding onto water for a million potential reasons.

    @jennyell85 - Great loss!

    Weigh In Day: Tuesday

    Start Weight: 154.6

    Current Weight: 153.6

Up just a bit, but I was overly ambitious when I hit that 2+ pounds last week. This feels more realistic.

    Steps this week:

    Tues: 12,429

    Wed: 14,091

    Thurs: 14,532

    Fri: 7,244

    Sat: 15,279

    Sun: 16,877

    Mon: 10,285

    Total: 90,737

    204,421 left for the month

    March Goals:

    187,579/392,000 steps

[ ] Shave my legs - I know, seems easy, but not really. :)

[ ] Spring clean the kitchen and bath.

    [X] Build dog kennel

[ ] organize the feed barn

    Other goals were:

    [X] Go to work

[ ] Tackle the rest of the feed barn

[ ] Make some flowers for the cemetery

[X] Meet a customer for some custom vinyl work

    [/] Vacuum and mop floors.

I did vacuum, and I swiffered the floors. It keeps raining, so I'll deep mop when we have at least 2 dry days.

    Update on Me…

I accidentally ate something I shouldn't have on Sunday, and food poisoning followed. Upset stomach, inability to stay sleep, dizziness, all that fun stuff. About 18 hours after consuming the hazardous lunch, I found myself waking up from sleep to… erm… evacuate the way it came in. The next day was rough, my body temperature fluctuated wildly and I was wary to eat anything with flavor, so I ended up eating a handful of crackers, some pasta, and shredded chicken. So, two days straight of not consuming nearly enough food.

This morning, I'm feeling mostly better, although there have been a few concerning dizzy spells that led me to skipping my workout - I am hoping my body stabilizes before I have to coach two classes this evening.

One unfortunate thought that ran through my head was "At least I'll lose some weight this way". When I weighed myself this morning, that was proven to be true. Not that I expect the loss to stick around, especially since I anticipate quite a bit of water retention while my body attempts to rehydrate.

But yeah, fun times. Drink your water, folks. And pay attention to how long you've held onto leftovers.

@minstrelofsarcasm - hope you're feeling better. I have to admit, when I do get ill like that I can't help but think of Emily in the Devil Wears Prada film, saying, "I'm just one stomach flu away from my ideal weight." Terrible thing to focus on, but hey sometimes you need to try and think of a silver lining 😆

I had a blip on Sunday and Monday morning scales shot up 3 pounds overnight. Which I know is not accurate but still wasn't nice to see. Hence I'm a bit late with weigh in as hoping it has balanced itself out by tomorrow! I will take a gain if I have to, but I know it shouldn't be that much.

@podperson1 - That quote has stuck with me for so long! I remember seeing that movie (maybe as a pre-teen or early teen?) and using it to see a "bright side" to getting sick. Those were the days when my parents were trying to bribe me to get on the treadmill, rather than talk to me about portion control or suggest any active family activities to do toghether - I am amazed by how far my mindset has come in the past almost 20 years. At least now I can recognize how unhealthy it is to hyperfixate on that number on the scale.

I've recovered a full pound of water in the past day, and I still feel dehydrated, so I expect a small loss for this week, but not nearly as large as the 2+ pounds I saw missing as of yesterday morning.

I was so hoping for a better number. I am still stuck at 191. I have been moving more, drinking more water, eating more careful. But I am stuck! I had a thought this morning (and through the day so far) that I might as well eat what I want since the scale has not budged. But I also know that every time that this happens, I binge and then I go backwards. So, instead, I am coming on here and ranting instead of eating. I am choosing change. If I want to see change, I need to change. I do know that this morning I am feeling very inflamed. So maybe that has something to do with it. Yesterday, I went on two walks and a bike ride on top of a body weight workout.

@blessedgrandma5 - With that level of activity yesterday, your body is absolutely holding onto water, no doubt about it! Inflamation is a sign of body reparation processes, which is almost always an indication that typically excess water will be held onto until your body reaches a state of stability. Do you use any other methods to keep track of your progress? (Photos, measurements, etc.)

my steps are awful because my back ad leg hurt so bad. We are going to Aruba the end of April so when we get back I see the surgeon the next day. I’m going to tell him I want the back surgery. I’m terrified of having it but I’m in so much pain it’s going to have to be done. I’m going to get a shot in my back tonight and I sit don’t think they are really helping put I take meds every day and nothing is working. Today I had to do training in an infant classroom and I thought I would die by the end of day. Right now I’m sitting on a heating pad until my appointment.

My granddaughters cheer competitions start this weekend. I’m so excited to go watch. She’s only 5 and she’s very good at gymnastics and doing flips and hand stands. She has 4 weeks of competitions and then my other granddaughter who is also 5 not sisters, her sports will start. I have very busy weekends coming up. I can’t wait. I love going to watch them. I’m waiting for my grandson to sign up for things, he will be 3 end of month. I also think I forgot to weigh in last week. Sorry about that. I’ll remember tomorrow.
