March 18th?! The year is flying by!

Well, lower activity, so that makes sense. Hubby had cataract surgery on his second eye yesterday . . continuing our conversation, he just can't seem to learn how to put eyedrops in his own eyes 🙄 lol. Playing nurse . .

Kelly, my new goals have been going pretty well. Looking back through my Apple Fitness, I have only missed 2 mornings of meditation, but I've only had one workout at the Rec. Center. Will try for another one this week. Also, my water intake is better.

Sorry about Shawn's foot issues. I hope he'll finally get some medical intervention. Life is too short. And, I don't think you got that flu, so that's great!

Sarah, I was so happy to read you're wanting to get back to your class. Sounds like you're feeling better, which is great!

Lois, looking forward to your post. Are you going to DL this weekend? How's the nutritionist search going?

Gotta run. Have a good day everyone.

Down a bit from yesterday (that was scary!), but still a couple of pounds up from where I've maintained for quite some time. I know it's mostly intake because I'm forcing myself to move despite the fatigue. But I used to eat a small brunch and then dinner and maybe a late snack. Lately, it's been earlier brunch, late lunch, dinner, and late snack. So of course my weight is moving up. And yes, I'm feeling better. The skin issues are healing well—not gone but doing much better. I do have soreness, but doc says that's normal, as is the fatigue that hits me mostly in the afternoon. (And gosh, I hate that!) It seems a little worse today because I did not get a good night's sleep. I got in bed late, had trouble falling asleep, and then hubby got foot cramps at 3 a.m.

I expect that tomorrow's appointment with the radiologist will be my last until June, when I'll see the doctor who is taking over for my radiologist who is retiring in April. I think she's going to continue with some of her research. but will not be working clinical. I'm so happy I was able to get in as one of her last patients. Every now and then, there's a doctor that just makes you feel immediately at ease, and she is one of those.

Sheesh, I chuckled about you and the eye drops. We had an eye thing here last night. I went to take my contacts out and could not feel the one in my right eye. I had fallen asleep on the sofa and my eye was dry, so everything was blurry anyway and I couldn't tell for sure if it was in or out. Hubby took a small flashlight and looked in my eye to see if was out of place, but said he saw nothing. We got a bigger flashlight and looked for it on the sofa and on the floor. No luck. And my eye was not feeling so hot, so I knew I could not just go to bed and had to figure this out. Finally, I put some saline in my eye and on my fingers and just went through the "take out" motion again, and lo and behold, it came out. Of course by that time, the adrenaline was pumping and I was no longer sleepy. Thus, the late to bed and trouble getting to sleep. LOL Hope your hubby's eye heals well and that you're off duty soon.

I am here to promise that I will take some positive steps this week to get this weight gain stopped. The next step is heading out to walk before sunset. Looking forward to hearing from everyone. I will post stats later or tomorrow. Just realized that I'm running out of time to get outside.

Sorry I missed posting yesterday. It was a little bit of a crazy day with work and I'm packing to go to San Diego with Rhea and her family - we leave this afternoon. Work until noon and then head to my son's to get everyone packed into the van and head out. I also made sure Seg has sustenance while I'm gone… haha. The things we do for our men. Laundry is done and so I'll just have some light loads to do when I get home Sunday. We're going to Sea World while in San Diego and visiting some family.

I have the meeting with the bariatric center on April 5. That will eventually lead me to a dietician with the help of insurance. But I have to follow their protocol to get there. So it will be a little bit of a journey.. one step at a time. I also reached out to my old trainer as the one I had signed up for just before achilles injury is no longer at that location. So I called my old friend. I told her I just want functional training. Not interested in exploring reiki, light therapy etc. Just simple exercises to get me moving again. She was very receptive so I'm scheduled for most Tuesdays/Thursday through the end of April (have some evening doc appts and travel that interfere with a few dates). I did not train on Tuesday, used it as a consultation to go over more details as I did not want to risk being sore for today's long drive. Just want to have an enjoyable weekend. I am looking forward to training again.

Sheesh - we just love our guys so much. They mean the world to us…what's adding some eye drops. 🤣 We do what we can for our guys. I'm not "meditating" but I did download Hallow. And I've been listening to that most days. I do find it calming and centering.

Sarah - glad you got to go back to your class - even as a participant.

Kelly - hopefully you can post soon and the home sells quickly.

    TTFN!!

Hi, all. Back to log my 7-day averages which continue to not be as good as they were prior to my treatments.

    Steps = 9,858
    Kcals burned = 1,665

Lois, easing back into physical activity sounds like a good plan. For me, the hard part always is getting started, and I think it's wise not to jump in so quickly that you end up being sore, because that can be discouraging.

Now that my treatment is over, I have a list of things that we need to do here at the house. With so much going on last year (the big pipe break, family deaths and illness, my medical issues, and hubby's back), we have just let things go—and I have a tendency to procrastinate anyway! With the stock market going down and the possibility of another recession, I'm kind of reluctant to spend a lot of money, but it's just time to do so. First on the list is putting down new grass sod and planting back some of the shrubs and trees that were sacrificed during the pipe replacement. The landscaping company came out last week to measure and we accepted their bid, so at least that's in the works. Now I need to screw up my courage to address painting, new drapes, new sofa—the list goes on and on. Thinking about the sofa makes me recognize how slow I can be with these things. We actually special ordered a new sofa several years ago and the company who handled this went out of business before the sofa came in from the manufacturer. Thankfully, I had rethought my first inclination to write them a check, and instead put it on a credit card, so my bank was able to recoup my money (close to $4K if I remember correctly). What saved us was that the store claimed that since it was taking several months to get this order they did not know at the time that they would definitely close. And they said they sent us a text message and an email when they did find out, but they could not provide our bank with a copy of either message. (Trust me—we heard nothing until we got an email the day they closed their doors.) And for some reason (because I hate shopping?) we just keep putting that purchase off. So I do have to stop all this procastinating. Is there a solution for this? (Which reminds me that I have also been procrastinating about the new treadmill, and boy was mine noisy last night! 😮)

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you ladies! I'm part Irish (aren't we all, especially on St. Patty's Day ? 😁) so we celebrate. I started my day with a meditation, and my trainer, so that's done. Getting some things done around the house before we go out for an Irish supper, and green beer.

Sarah, I can tell you're feeling better by how you're focusing on your house and yard. And, as far as procrastinating, it's what I do with projects that are time consuming and cost money. And, the older I get, the more I just don't want the hassle. There are so many things I would rather be doing. But, when it gets past time, you just have to do it, lol. I've got several of my own I can think of right now . . . Glad you were able to get your money back with the last sofa purchase. With the coming recession (I agree we are going to have one) there will likely be more businesses closing their doors, so be aware before you buy. Maybe a store with plenty of floor inventory.

I could relate to your contact lens story . . I wear dailies, and had a night that I went to sleep with them still in my eyes, which has happened before, but this particular time I got up the next morning and put in another pair of lenses, as usual. Of course, it felt so weird and uncomfortable, but I struggled until I took them out and realized there were two in each eye! 😅

Lois, I'm wondering if you're home from San Diego today, or if it's an extended trip to see family. Sounds so nice. I'm itching to get away again soon. I smiled at your eyedrops comment. . and of course I don't mind doing it for my hubby. (Which, it's still ongoing . . will be for 4 weeks) It's a whole thing . . he has to lay down on the bed and try to not squeeze them out. Also, I have to remember and remind him 4 times a day, He's younger than me, but forgets. But, it's just one of those things we do for our guys . . I don't mind.

Kelly, I hope all is well with you. Looking forward to your post on Wednesday.

Happy St. Paddy's Day everyone!!! Hoping you're all having a fabulous day. I truly am part Irish (Italian, Irish, English and Portuguese). But not really doing anything to celebrate. Hubby isn't a fan of corned beef and cabbage so I'm not making it this year.

Back from our San Diego trip. It was a whirlwind of a trip. I was a passenger for almost 1,000 miles of travel (70 of it back/forth to Rhea's house …lol). Visited our family, had Tepinyaki dinner with my daughter and her in-laws. Rhea's first time - and it was amazing and hilarious watching her interaction and reactions to our chef. Not only was the food fantastic, but the chef's performance was above and beyond. I even came home 1lb lighter than I left on Thursday…LOL. I still have to unpack tonight and do laundry. And I'm exhausted. LOL

I have therapy tomorrow at 1:30 and trainer at 5:45. But it needs to be done. I said I'd start training this year and I'm going to. I leave for sister's trip three weeks from today. I need to be ready.

Sarah - I'm feeling ya…. Goodluck finding a treadmill. We're still watching our downstairs HVAC and replacement. I don't want to part with my $9k, so watching it limp along…lol. Actually hubby seems to have to deal with it as it acts up more when I'm not here. Hubby still has to clear room in the garage for the technicians to be able to remove/install. Right now, not quite enough elbow room. And I'll be out of town a few more weeks without him, so who knows when I'll have to pull that trigger. We also were trying to buy another new car…thinking of trading in our current Highlander for a hybrid Highland, but the only colors that are available this year will be black with either black or grey interior. Our guy offered us a $100 discount if we took a blue one…no thank you. Maybe for $10k….nah. Not even then. So we're waiting for the color/package combination is available. Unsure if the price variable will be too high for me to want to pull the trigger. I've put a ceiling on the amount I'm willing to put back out there. Our current one is a 2022 and only has 7,500 miles so far. The poor van takes all of the trips to cali as it is the hybrid and saves us about $40 min on gas each way.

Sheesh - I remember a few times when I'd add a lens to an eye when I'd failed to remember to take out the lens the night before. And had them go up under the eyelid where hubby had to help retrieve it/them.

Truth be told, with the trips coming up, I'm actually beginning to feel a little overwhelmed (probably because of my back, but still a bit overwhelmed). I know they will be tons of fun, but still a bit overwhelmed.
