@nancyinmiami Hey Nancy…how are you feeling post surgery this week?!! I saw your one post where you were feeling a bit fuzzy…I bet that's annoying!!

Hope you get moving and sending me new "be jealous of Miami water and weather" pics soon! Love those! Was talking to a friend in my company's Miami office this week and I told him how you love it there…he's the guy who always translate Spanish/English for all of our meetings with the Caribbean and South American meetings…

Talk to ya soon I hope and continue to feel better!

Thank you everyone for your input re calories in and calories out! Think I will try not to eat back all my calories, but so far have not linked my watch with MFP, and just trying to eat my allocation. Didn't actually meet my allocation today for th first time , also didnt do a hard workout so hopefully things are balancing out...says she in perimenopause

    Daily step goal 10000

    4-4: 10268

Friday :  Strong Seniors and about 30 minutes of decluttering. Most importantly I actually loaded up my car and dropped off the donations. I have routinely skipped this step and just stash the stuff in a different area of the house or garage to take care of “later”, so happy to have completed at least one round of the project 😊

    Daily step goal: 10,000
    Fri 4/4: 10,054
    Sat 4/5: 14,660

Yesterday, I spent the day on Angel Island in the San Francisco Bay, participating in volunteer work put on jointly by the California Parks Foundation and the California State Parks agency. There were five groups to volunteer for, ranging in difficulty from hard to easy. Having done some hard work a couple years ago digging up small palm trees, I opted for the middle one which was described as raking up Eucalyptus bark and debris as a fire deterrent. That sounds a whole lot easier than digging up invasive plants, doesn't it? But I didn't imagine it would be on a slope and involve not just bark but small to large branches entangled in grass. It was hard work, but I got a free lunch out of it. 😂

Here's a couple photos on and from the island:
This first one is a view of Angel Island from the Tiburon ferry station.

This one is a view from Angel Island back toward the Tiburon ferry station, with Mount Tamalpais in the background. Mt Tamalpais is a great place to hike among coastal redwoods. To the right of the island, you can barely see Alcatraz with San Francisco behind it.

I took this next photo while returning the mile or so to Angel Island's harbor from the location of our work detail, for the ferry ride back to Tiburon.

@frankwbrown! - You had a very productive day! I appreciate all your clean up work and thanks for sharing the photos. Mount Tamalpais sounds like a beautiful place to hike with a background of coastal redwoods!

Great loss @Krysless2! And it’s motivating to see everyone posting such fantastic step numbers 🤩!

I had a busy workday on Friday, and I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork yesterday, so I ended up with some sedentary days. I had a good 30-minute session with the personal trainer so I’m glad the day wasn’t a total washout, but I need to move more! 🚶‍♀️🏋️‍♂️🏃‍♀️

@p8m6bwghh9 - You seem to be doing so well with your weight loss, exercise, and decluttering! I definitely understand the multi-step process of sorting, packing, and dropping off the items when downsizing. I often stack boxes in the mudroom and I have a carload of stuff that I need to get rid of right now — thanks for the inspiration!

@leanneosullivan4432 - As part of the CI/CO discussion about whether to eat back exercise calories, I should have mentioned a couple of other points:

    • I set my daily calorie limit to maintain my goal weight, rather than my current weight. So, my daily target is already set to a deficit.
    • When logging food and exercise, I try to over-estimate my calories in (CI) and under-estimate my exercise calories (CO) because it’s difficult to calculate exactly.

I should weigh and measure more than I do. So, I hope to improve in that area to achieve better results. Best wishes, everyone!

A little frustrated today. My weight was a good pound lower yesterday, but today is weigh-in day, so… I'm still very sick, so movement or even making my own meals isn't really happening still. I am trying to add produce back into my diet- our big freezer in the garage was accidentally left cracked, and everything thawed, taking out the majority of our vegetables as well 😥 . I'll need to clean the freezer and start replacing some things as I can.

@morenin I can relate. I was about a pound down on the day after my weigh in. A bit frustrating, but I try to keep my focus on the bigger picture. I know I am making progress, as my trend weight is going down.

I'm sorry you're still sick! I hope you start feeling better soon!

    Good morning,

    Monday steps: 6,519

@nancyinmiami I'm so jealous! It was 45 degrees, rainy and windy here yesterday and there's a freeze warning here today. That kept me inside so my step count really suffered and my plan to ride my road bike fell through. 😡

Who was it that said they figured out how to remove the extra line spaces? 🤷 And can you please share? Thanks in advance! 💐

  • frankwbrown

    @DaffyGirl88

On a windows computer, pasting text using ctrl+shift+V instead of just ctrl+V will "paste as plain text", omitting the extra lines and also removing any text formatting like bold, italic, etc.

I'm not sure what the key combo is that does "paste as plain text" on Android, iOS, Apple, Linux,…

    That’s a helpful tip @frankwbrown!

@DaffyGirl88- Typically, I use my phone instead of the computer so I put my cursor at the beginning of the new line and press the ‘backspace’ key, so the second lines moves up to the end of the first line. Then, I hit the ‘return’ key again. The second line moves back to the correct place without the extra space.

I’m sure there’s probably a better way to get rid of the space, but that’s my solution for now — 🕊️

    Monday’s (dismal! 😬) Steps
    Daily Goal: 7,000

My watch battery ran out of power so I needed to recharge it. So, my step count seems even lower than it was. I’ll do better today. It was too windy to row on the water today but we worked out inside the boathouse using the ergs. I hope everyone is having a good week so far!

Loving all the photos @frankwbrown & @nancyinmiami .We have had a couple of sunny days here in England.I spent time cleaning my front door & window. Also sweeping the path & tidying up the flower bed.I also had an ECG today & luckily it was normal. It was part of a pre op for an operation I'm having.Hopefully I can still fit in my usual holidays to Greece & recover in the sunshine.

It's no fun getting old ! It's my birthday this Thursday I will be 65.I am pleased to still be active. The nurse assessing my health history was impressed with all my activities.Hopefully all the tests dome will be OK.🤞
