Active April 2025 Challenge

Since Bacon Slave has not posted, I am going to go out on a limb, and post this, as even though I didn't participate in the last month, I think these challenges are a good way to keep this group active. This is a cut and paste of 2024.
It's Active April, folks.
The word "active" is a loaded word.
Not only can it apply to exercise, but it can also mean "characterized by action rather than by contemplation or speculation."
Time to get fit or act on your goals, whatever they may be.
Increase your NEAT, do one of the bazillion YouTube vids and workout streaming services, hit the gym, enjoy the weather and walk or hike (whenever it's actually nice in the Spring, easier said than done!) And for non-exercise goals, start actively pursuing them as best you can with what you have to work with. Don't let "perfect" be the enemy of "better". Improvements, even if they're slight or baby steps, are still progress.
We can do this!
No need to make your "heart gargle in your throat." Unless that's what you're into. Or to win all the life trophies.
Active April is about making your goal an improvement in your fitness or life. As Elizabeth Benton always says, "Whatever constitutes an improvement for YOU. Do that."
So whether you want to train for a 5k or 10k, sleep better, get more serious about logging, start HIITing your head off, or just start exercising, period, it's all good.
If your exercise is already on-point, but you'd like to increase your daily NEAT burn, that's a great target as well. (What is NEAT, consult this thread from which I have been inspired:
Go ahead and post your goals.
Update us daily and receive encouragement, workout suggestions, and support from your compatriots in the challenge.
Go get it! Make change

Thanks for posting! I need to get back on track this month.
My weight bounced back up 3-4 lbs and I'm trying to see if I can reverse that. :/
Am on track with exercise.
Logged food today.Hydration and electrolytes on point.

Yes, thanks!
I ended last month a pound higher. I have to be way more active and cut out my dark chocolate for the month. Food and exercise have both been better this week. Water is great during the week but I slack on weekends. Will put some reminders in my phone.

I have been doing well weight wise last month, although we had a nasty virus go through our house which basically knocked me off my exercise schedule for a week and a half or so. My goal is to get back to my regular workout schedule, and to add 20 minute walks every morning for at least 5 days each week.

Today is a rest day from my workout plan, so I just had my 20 minute walk this morning. Even though I was more tired than I like from having to stay up until later than usual waiting for something my wife (who is ill and went to bed early) was cooking to finish, I dragged myself out of bed, and I went for my walk. It was a good walk, and I felt much more energetic after taking it. I do wish that the sun was coming up earlier, as I it is still dark when I am out. Soon enough that should change.

Hey, thanks! Things have been bananas round my house. Sick kids and family drama. I really appreciate you taking the initiative! I'll try to do better next month.

I have been sticking with my goals this week. I have followed my workout schedule, and have walked every day, usually first thing in the morning. The exception for the first thing in the morning plan was Tuesday. I had a very stressful first day at my new job on Monday followed by a really bad sleep that night (my brain wouldn't stop and I was either too hot or too cold.) After that I didn't get out to walk until my lunch break on Tuesday. Not only was the walk very theraputic, but my second day went much better. I got in my walk this morning though.

Did strength and yoga Monday as usual, Tue was squats, modified pushups & lunges, a wall sit and a plank. Working up to do doing more of those every day. Yesterday was a bit chaotic and only got in a little walk. If the rain holds off, will get in a longer walk today.

Started back on my low carb/keto journey Nov 4. Happy to report success again! Took me years to get back. I'm down about 2 sizes now with two more to go, and feel so motivated. This time, I'm much less fanatic about it all…haven't even got on the scale, but it's working for me: I feel great, smaller clothes, skin cleared up, etc. So, yay!!
I'm grateful to have this group here even when I'm not successful... I know it's here when I can grab on to it and everyone's stories keep me in the game.

@elize7 nice to see you again!
Def getting my protein in these past few days. Usual Monday double workout, not sure what I'm in the mood for activity-wise today. It poured last night and everything is soaked so needs to be indoors LOL.

I am doing really well sticking to my goals. The best part is my weight has dropped below my original goal weight by almost 2 pounds. I have been playing with losing another 5 or so pounds, but this was not intentional at all. I need to get in the walking because my new job has me sitting at a computer for 8 hours a day, and the stress has my energy way down when home.

Got in some weights Tue and Wed. Will be walking tonight. Ate too much last night but have less planned for today and tomorrow. I don't mid going over once in a while especially on family dinner nights with our sons and their wives.

Still going well with sticking to my goals. After Easter, my weight it up a bit, but still in my maintenance range. I did pretty much stick with Keto eating for Easter. I did give in on several hot cross buns after church on Easter Sunday since I expected it to be a spluge day. However, I stuck pretty much to keto at our meal, and didn't even have any cherry cheese cake. I did enjoy the keto pumpkin mousse I made, and likely had more than I should have, but overall, I am guessing other than the hot cross buns, I kept my carbs quite low. I followed the meal with a good 45 minute walk as well, and still had good breath ketones this morning.
