What a bummer way to start the day! But all I can do is log whatever the scales say and move on. I actually had a fairly decent week with kcals burned and steps taken. My 7-day averages were: Steps = 10,788; Kcals = 1,788. I can remember lamenting not that long ago that I just could not get that average burn above 1700. And yet, I'm doing that now. But something is going on and the scale tells the tale. Rather than how much I'm eating, I think it may be more what I'm eating. And for some reason, after I eat, I get very lethargic for a while. I think I need to mention that to my doc. Has to be blood sugar levels—but why?

Kelly, I so wish I could come up there and give you a real hug and some homemade soup or something. Or take a chore off your list. Hope another virtual big hug helps. As I've said, I do know the stress of allergic-type symptoms and belly issues. And with everything else you're juggling—you just need to get these physical worries off the list.

I have been dealing with some health stress of my own, but nothing to compare with yours. Mine has been centered on some discomfort in my left breast when I'm not wearing a well-fitting bra and some continued lower belly twinges. I finally screwed up my courage and felt that breast for anything that could be close to a new lump—and there's nothing. And although I've avoided reading too much online, last night I decided to search on post-radiation discomfort, and I was grateful to find that it's a common symptom that can last some time. And I say grateful because it's uncomfortable, but nothing I can't deal with as long as it's just a post-treatment symptom. I have my first follow-up mammogram in late May, followed by a followup visit with the surgeon. I'm both worried about those and looking forward to them. Then I'll see the new radiologist in June and the lower GI guy next week. So I guess answers are coming.

Lois, I'm sorry you were hit with that cold and I hope it passes quickly. Glad though that you had so much fun with your sister and that the new A/C is installed and working. Hope your work load lets up soon.

Kelly, you mentioned wind. We are getting hit with high wind, too. Yesterday the wind was gusting so much that even though the temps were not very cold, I could not deal with an outside walk. And we keep looking at a huge, old white pines around us. I know the HOA has tree specialists out every so often to assess the trees but some are beginning to lean a lot!

Sheesh, hope you had a safe trip back from your golf outing. Looking forward to hearing about it and how you're doing. When I look at the weather map, it appears that you're finally also getting some spring temps. Will you be hiding Easter eggs with the Utah grands? We were supposed to go out for Easter dinner with another couple, but they ended up with a much higher tax bill than they expected and decided they could not afford this splurge. It was going to be a pretty pricey dinner. So we told them not to worry, just cancel the reservations and come here. So I'll do the usual ham, potato salad, etc.

Well, time to move. Take care all. I'll circle back later. My goals for next week are (1) eat less sugar and more fruit and veggies, and (2) move when the post-meal lethargy hits (I have been caving in and taking a short nap or just sitting and reading for a while).

Sorry to hear about your discomfort, Sarah. That doesn't sound pleasant at all. I know you said your follow up isn't booked until late May, but is there a way for you to get in sooner or call to see if it's a symptom that you should be concerned about? Maybe it is what you found online, but having someone ease your mind, even if it is over the phone, may help you until your appointment, especially if you can't feel anything. Just a thought. Hugs to you too 💕

Well, more upward creep for me. I'll join you, Sarah, with your goals of less sugar and more veggies this week. I cannot blame you for looking up symptoms online, but I agree with Kelly that it's worth a phone call. Dr. Google isn't your personal doctor.

Kelly, wow, your physical symptoms are difficult. For some reason I think it's stress induced. Stress is more of a culprit than we think it is in so many physical issues. I break out in hives or get a cold sore when I'm extremely stressed, or get IBS symptoms. It's hard to diagnose too. I'll be praying for a housing solution for you guys. Send the same for my daughter here. They are renting a house still, and want to buy so much, but just can't find anything in their price range. I'm also sending you a virtual hug along with Sarahs.

Lois, your sister trip sounds like it was a big success. . other than a cold coming home with you. You were smart to have hubby come so he could drive you home. Feel better soon. And, hurray to getting the AC up and running ahead of the heat.

Speaking of heat, it was 95 degrees on the golf course one day on our little trip, and I thought I was going to die! I drank a ton of water, and beer lol, but I had to quit the last two holes that day. We had fun though, also enjoying dinners and the casino (thank goodness it was cool).

Monday my trainer worked me out quite hard, and the strangest thing happened yesterday afternoon. I was pretty sore from our workout, but we had done more core work than arms because I had played a lot of golf. Tuesday afternoon, I don't know what I did, but I started noticing that my rib right up by my breast hurt like crazy. When I took a deep breath it was so excruciating that I couldn't finish a full breath. It hurt so much that I didn't walk or do much of anything other than desk work. All evening I was complaining to my husband. Finally while in bed I decided I wasn't going to be able to sleep if I didn't get some deep breaths, so I determined that I would power through the excruciated part with a really deep breath while lying on my back. As I did it, I felt something inside move. I've never felt anything like it, and it hurt like he**! But afterward, the pain was gone! Today, it's just a little extra sore, but I got my walking done and I feel so much better. I looked up the symptoms, and it seems that I had a dislocated (or slipped) rib! I guess I have to be careful to not let it dislocate again because it happens more easily each time. Good grief.

I am having the Utah grands here but on Saturday so that the other grandma and cousins can have them on Sunday. I got some of those eggs you can open, and I'm going to fill them with candy and stickers, etc. Also, some chocolate because the 3 yo is just like her mama and grandma with loving chocolate. I'm hoping the weather holds because I want to hide some outside. We put out all our patio furniture, and the ducks are coming by, so we'll get some corn out to feed to them. She loves doing that. I'm making pork loin and scalloped potatoes.

Have a nice Easter everyone. I'll try to check back before then.

Happy Thursday ladies. The crud is still here and settling into my throat and lungs (at least my head seems to be clearing up a bit - not quite as tight). Still a lot of pressure and drainage and my glands are super swollen. Very low grade fever comes and goes. We were supposed to leave tomorrow night back to California for my friend's funeral. It's too late for me to cancel tomorrow's hotel reservation, but I did cancel Saturday's. I'm doing all things I should be doing to get this cold or whatever on it's way. I let her daughter know we're not coming and her family's been sick this past week as well. I jus want to go and give her a big hug! New AC is working beautifully. NOw to feel better.

Not going to see Rhea this weekend either. They'll be up north and I don't want them to stop and see us and possibly get this crud either. We'll see them next weekend.

I'm feeling very drained today. I may crawl back into bed at lunch for a nap.

Omigoodness Sheesh! Slipped rib. That was crazy painful I'm sure. I believe my Mom had that happen before too and I remember her being in such pain. Glad it popped itself back into place!

Lois, sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. Good idea with staying home and just resting up. No sense in passing it on. Keep on napping!!

And yes, I do believe that it was actually stress/anxiety that have been causing my symptoms. I think I was going into full panic attacks without even realizing it and its all because of my allergic reactions and being scared to eat. The house stuff is stressful too and so is a bunch of other stuff in my life, so it just all piled up on me. My bloodwork came back normal, my blood pressure is fine, my blood sugar is fine with the glucose monitor, so it has to be anxiety. I have been doing what I can the last couple days to try calm myself. A few times a day I'll do breathing exercises, plus my walks and I have cut down to 1 or 2 cups a coffee a day, instead of 2-4 cups, I have cut back a lot on how much I'm eating/portion sizes and I have been drinking WAY more water. All of these things should end up helping me in the end anyway, even if I didn't have this triggered anxiety. What crazy things anxiety can do to your mind and body.

Happy Easter to all of you!🐰

Oh Sheesh - I just re read about the slipped rib. I think I've had that a couple of times. I got it when twisting trying to reach something just beyond and then stand up because it hurts and you can't catch your breath and then you FEEL it slip back in place!!! SO SO painful. Hopefully it doesn't happen more often.

Kelly - I think you were meditating before…maybe increase those to help? I don't really have an answer as I don't handle stress very well most days. Hugs that all the bloodwork etc are in normal ranges. That's a very positive result. There is an old saying take time to take care of you or your body will make it happen - something like that. Ie rest or take care of yourself before you're resting due to being sick. And yes, stress and anxiety are great contributors to that end result.

Sarah hoping you were able to get a doctor appt to go over your side effects. Sadly Dr. Google or Dr. WebMD can be misleading…. I agree with you and what you've found to be potential side effects, but it still best to confirm that is the case and not something else. Peace of mind with the confirmations. Can you call your nurse coordinator possibly?

Spent the entire weekend resting. I finally unpacked my suitcases yesterday. Well, I took the clothes out of the suitcases and they're still stacked on the table, but they are "unpacked". Gave hubby the goodies I got for him and showed the new Star Wars stuff I acquired (again, not really a star wars fan but the special even shirts/sweatshirt were too cute to pass up) lol. I did make a pasta salad to go with the lunchmeat I ordered on Saturday. Easter was super mellow. I cancelled our trip to California for the funeral and I'm glad I did. I feel like it helped. Hubby and I just rested. Nothing special at all. We watched Mass on livestream from our recliners with hot water and hot tea. I did a few things and would stop and rest. Still have a bit of congestion and cough, but on the mend. I cancelled my training sessions for this week. I am skipping May as well since I'm only home one week. I've scheduled Tues/Thurs in June to resume. I leave next Thursday to take care of my daughter post op and I need to ensure I am clear of this crud before I leave. I'll see Rhea this weekend before I leave for two weeks. And then I have to repack to head to my daughter's in California. I'll be working part time while there.

Hubby now has my crud. How does that happen? He can be around sniffling snotty kids teaching TKD every day and then I get sick from something and he gets it at the end? We do keep our distance when one of us is ill. He even sleeps in the other room or on the couch. UGH. Ad he's not one to take meds so instead of taking the cough syrup that will quell some of the coughing and aid in general relief to the miserableness. Men. I tell ya. I've got all sorts of options splayed out on the counter.

I ate almost nothing of what the chef made last week. Nor did I freeze it. UGH! I did attempt to give the veggie stuff to a neighbor but she had just gone shopping and made dinner. Ah well. I just wasn't very hungry. I ate to ensure my body was fueled, but more soup and toast/bagels. Ate some of the steak but the veggies and my palate did not agree.

My DIL posted a video of Rhea Easter egg hunting with her grandfather up north. So cute. She's growing so fast. They do grow way too quickly. I'd already given her her Minnie Mouse bunny the week before I left for my sister's trip. But gosh I do miss her. Kelsie has school soccer games tonight and tomorrow but I'm not sure I'd be able to make it before the games are over. Hoping work is slow and I can slip out a wee bit early to attend.
