Weight has been very up and down this week so not convinced that loss will stay. We'll see. It's been lovely weather here for a change so walked home from work today the 'scenic route' which is mostly along a river and then a canal. Nice to feel a bit of nature in the middle of the city. Helped my steps too as have def not been getting enough in this week!

I have had a very strange week, we have a trainee cook in our kitchen at work, so everything has to be spotless and perfect at all time… it is a bit stressful . My daughter's ankles are getting worse and the hospital doesn't seem to have much of a plan to help except a surgery that might or might not help. She hasn't been allowed to jump or run for over a year already. Now she has to stop ballet completely but can keep skating for now. I find it really sad that she has to be so careful with what she does at only 13 years old. She has done amazingly well for her 3 skating tests so that's a good news. My son only has a few weeks left in primary school then will go to secondary school in September, it is a strange feeling that they are both growing up too quick. I have 1 more week in work before it's school half term here and I am looking forward to having the time off

I crossed my fingers and hoped I wouldn't be back in the 220's! Thankfully it didn't quite get there! I really hope to get further and further away from it! Here's for a good weigh In next week!

Weigh in day: Monday
CW: 268.7
PW: 267I had a weird week last week. I struggled with sticking to my calorie goals because I felt extra hungry and sort of stressed. I did my strength training though, drank my water, and kept up with reading. I do need to be more consistent with my diet, but I don't want to overly restrict myself because then I just get into binge territory. There's a balance there, and I know I can get there it just takes time. This week I'm trying to include some lower calorie and high protein snacks to get me through, and limiting my sweets a bit.
Steps also struggled because my foot hurts (plantar fasciitis) and my dog is not keen on walking much in all the rain we've been having. But I'm going to try to walk more during breaks at work to reach my goal. I have an office walking buddy so sometimes we walk outside at lunch.

So close to the 219s! Feel like I've been stuck in the 220s forever lol.
Been an okay week foodwise, I'm trying to allow myself little treats and hopefully it'll stop me turning to binging. I find it helps a lot if I have something quite rich but small - so I feel like I've had that 'fix' but in a small package and not a full pack of biccies 🤣
I was hoping to start a new hand-weights routine this week but one of my wrists has been really painful since weekend. I'm on the computor a lot, both work and home, so maybe a bit of carpal tunnel? My friend is bringing me a wrist support to try tonight so hopefully that may help.

Day: Tuesdays
PW: 182.9 (5/13/25)
CW: 182.3 (5/20/25)
I was less than 180 over the weekend, but my gut has not been happy the last few days. I ate a lot more sugar than I usually do, and I'm noticing that it doesn't seem to agree with my body. So I sent the second pie and coffee cake to work with my partner. I'm sure others will enjoy them, and my body will be happier!
Still a bit rough around the edges on the meal planning, but I like what you suggested @minstrelofsarcasm - have 2 proteins and 2 starches for the week and plenty of veg to keep things interesting. That piecemeal approach might work really well for me rather than trying to plan each meal.
Goal 1: Plan food for each day before the day begins and enter the food in MFP (bonus if I enter it a week or more at a time). (Didn't do great, but I did enter my meals about half the time in MFP. 3/7)
Goal 2: Eat based on the plan and note where I deviate from the plan. Update in MFP. —> Goal change for 1 & 2: Make 2 proteins (marinated tofu and lima beans) and 2 starches (roasted sweet potato and cilantro lime rice) available and eat from those along with the veg I have (chard, dandelion greens, arugula, spinach/kale blend, carrots, cabbage, tomato, avocado, mini bell pepper, leek, cauliflower, celery, onion). Geez, no wonder I have menu paralysis - I have too many options! Note to self - Buy fewer items next week!
Goal 3: Get 6000 steps at least 5 times per week and an average of 7000+ steps per week not counting steps over 10k. (This week I had a knee injury and a 10k race, so it was hit or miss. I took good care of myself and my knee didn't get worse because of the race on Saturday.)
Goal 4: Read and post in this thread twice or more weekly. (I think I forgot this week)
Goal 5: Add my weight to my hacker daily - Hacker weight log (goal achieved!)
Steps
U 5/11 = 18803 (10k for average)
M 5/12 = 5266
T 5/13 = 6433
W 5/14 = 2333
R 5/15 = 4991
F 5/16 = 6739
S 5/17 = 19058 (10k for average)
U 5/11 to S 5/17 average: 6537 (not including steps over 10k) & exceeded 6k 4 times this week!

Sorry I am late! It’s been a struggle to track lately. I think I am going to get a new scale this weekend because the daily fluctuations are making me think something is up with my scale. Can I be excused from weigh in this Sunday? We are heading out to a family reunion this weekend and I am going to try really hard to track and exercise and get my motivation going again!!

I was surprised for the loss but I will take it. I typed something up the other day to post and I must not have pushed the post button, lol. I’m waiting to see the back surgeon. I’m hoping for something good but we will see. I’m dog sitting my son’s dogs this week while they are in Florida. They are big dogs and always in the way. They knocked me out the back door the other day. I’m always worried about getting hurt around these 2.

I'm trying to increase my steps but now my dog tore her ACL and is rehabbing from surgery. 🙁 That means no walks for a bit, but then I'll get some extra activity in while carrying her up and down stairs, right? I'm gonna do my best to still get some solo walks in because I need it, for my mental health lol.
I am still struggling with feeling hungry so I upped my calorie goal a bit, because I think sometimes the stress about the "number" is what's triggering it. I'm hoping if I feel like I have a tiny bit of extra room it will lessen the mental load of it and so far it seems to be helping. It feels more manageable. Why is my brain like this? Just wanted to share and vent.

@kkay2345 - Absolutely, consider yourself excused. Have a great weekend! If you don't drop back in at any point next week, we'll catch you in the June (!) Team Weight No More chat.

@jennyell85 - It's always a struggle when you're hitting your calorie goals but it doesn't feel like enough food, I can 100% relate. It's hard to remember that the number is just a number and doesn't actually represent all of the things our bodies do and need. Do you think the struggle comes from eating a lot of non-satiating foods to meet the lower number, or do you think that calorie value is just too gosh-darn low for what your body needs?
0 -
@minstrelofsarcasm That's the reason for the experiment, trying to figure that out. It could just be that my body needs a little more, and I'm trying to honor my hunger cues. I've always known that I have a big appetite compared to others. I definitely try to eat a balanced diet overall, enough fruit & veg, protein, fiber, and healthy fats, but I still allow myself to eat dessert or salty snacks in small portions if I'm feeling like it. I would rather lose weight a bit more slowly and not drive myself crazy in the attempt. I'm also strength training and I want to maintain muscle mass so I know I need to eat enough.
My other assumption is that I'm still not sleeping enough, and I read that can throw your hunger and satiety hormones out of whack, so I'm working on that too.0 -

Given how much strenuous weight-lifting I've been doing this week, and my absolute disregard for my diet when working from home… this maintain was surprising. I would have expected a bloat at the very least, but I'll absolutely take this pleasant number to represent my week!
