DISCUSSION QUESTION: What type of movement or exercise brings you joy, and how did you discover it?
Bicycling! Discovered the joy of pedalling anywhere I want to go, using my own power, when I was a kid. And It still makes me feel like a kid when I'm riding … at least, when I'm riding downhill with the wind at my back…

We are home from the hospital, and we are exhausted! Joe is better but still fragile, and it will take a few days to get him back to his "normal." I read all your posts, but am just too drained to respond. 🙂
@Katmary71 can you please just use last week's weight for me? There is no way I'm taking this gain and plan to get back on track today. 🙂

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What type of movement or exercise brings you joy, and how did you discover it?
Lifting heavy things. I discovered this in 6th grade, when I loved my bedroom furniture down from an attic by myself. I am remninded that I need to build in more ways to lift!
Also walking, which I discovered in high school gym. I wasn't s speedy runner, but I could outlast all the sprinters.

Hi 👋
Not going on here. I got some stuff done that I've needed to do for awhile, listened to music and danced a little. I don't really know what the plan is for today, but I'll figure it out.
DISCUSSION QUESTION: What type of movement or exercise brings you joy, and how did you discover it?
Dancing, I discovered zumba years ago with my sister. It was the most fun ever. Now, with my knee and shoulder problems, I can't do it, but I still dance when I'm listening to music and do chores.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: What type of movement or exercise brings you joy, and how did you discover it?
Up to my mid-50s I used to love going to the clubs and dancing (yes, I was disco-child of the 1970s and 1980s, and loved Studio 54, et al !!!) Then later, it was going dancing on "Nostalgia Night" !!! LOL Oy veh, the start of feeling "old".
I also learned how to do Tai Chi back then and loved calmness, fluidity and strength it took to do at my weekly session! Now, with MS and my badly repaired left hip, I use a rollator and live in rural PA… boy, has my life changed <sigh>🤨 No, not feeling sorry for myself… I have it easy compared to many of my friends!!!
I've yet to find exercise a joy to do! I do 2 hours of it every day, 7 days a week. When I'm done for the day, I do feel a great sense of accomplishment, which makes me pleased with myself.😊

ICE BREAKER QUESTION: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, for as long as you'd like, where would you go and how long would you stay?
Ireland, and permanently !!! It's beautiful and progressive-politically. I'd love to live out the rest of my days in a peaceful and pretty place !!!

QUESTION: WHAT TYPE OF MOVEMENT OR EXERCISE BRINGS YOU JOY, AND HOW DID YOU DISCOVER IT? Biking as a teen, I was just about to start again when my CRPS came out of remission and it was so frustrating! I enjoy dancing too, both are hard to do with my CRPS though.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW, FOR AS LONG AS YOU LIKE, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND FOR HOW LONG WOULD YOU STAY? I’d go to Washington state to see relatives, one of my aunts is fighting cancer and hasn’t been doing too well and I miss her.
@TeresaW2024 SO glad you and Joe are back home, I hope Joe regains his strength fast.
@AustinRuadhain Lifting is such an awesome thing I feel ya there!
@bobboyardee Woohoo you have an awesome not eating after dinner streak, wtg!
@DrewsAnna I’m glad you still dance a little, I miss being able to do that more too.
@trooworld I thought a bunch of those recipes looked good plus I subscribed to him and discovered his Chicken Tinga so that’s something I need to make soon. I agree I need to get some stuff to make Thai recipes! Foster kittens I’m thinking in a week or two though I asked for ones old enough to sleep through the night so we’ll see. I haven’t had that skinnytaste recipe but I’m realizing when I was looking up recipes I was thinking tinga and tikka were the same and was confused about the ingredient differences! They BOTH sound good! I ended up just using a bottle marinade for tonight’s chicken dinner. I’ll add that chicken recipe to my “make soon” too! Once again I wish you lived here so we could make Thai food together (and silently read on the deck after too!).
@jessicakrall8 Book club sounds exciting!
@baodell17724 Great to see you back! Oh no I did that when I first started MFP too and it IS overwhelming having a bunch of challenges going at once! I’m glad you came back here, it’s honestly the only challenge-type group I’ve stuck with for the last 6+ years. TOPS seems like a great group I’m glad you have that support. You’re doing great with weight loss and getting back on track, you aren’t far from being in Onederland now!
Hi friends! I woke up and finished the book I was reading (Anna Quindlen Blessings) then managed to spill most my coffee in bed when Jasper jumped on me so I had to get everything in the washing machine and scrub down what I could in my room. I caught up on work and worked out, I’ve been doing the bare minimum workout-wise lately and it’s time to step it up again. I did a sterilized transfer of mycelium to grain to get some more going to take to the farm once it’s ready to be turned into a kit, currently have 3 that are almost ready and the four today will go in a couple weeks. Also finished the rough draft of our Mushroom guide for the farm and sent it out to the other two volunteers who are doing it with me. I used it to do the transfer and it’s so much easier using clear instructions than having a ton of notes to flip through. Next up is getting prescriptions but the cats do NOT want to come in from the catio! I have my nephew’s concert tonight so they’ll have to come in at some point unless my roommate comes home soon. Planning on a sheet pan meal of Trader Joe’s orange oriental sauce, broccoli, and sweet potatoes which should be great. I managed to stay on track with diet yesterday for the first time in awhile and plan to do it today too. Have a great Tuesday night and Wednesday!

QUESTION: WHAT TYPE OF MOVEMENT OR EXERCISE BRINGS YOU JOY, AND HOW DID YOU DISCOVER IT?
Running, when I decided to start losing weight, running was the only thing I didn’t need experience to start doing. In the beginning I couldn’t run the straight away on a football field. Then I got to wanting to do races.ICE BREAKER QUESTION: IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW, FOR AS LONG AS YOU LIKE, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND FOR HOW LONG WOULD YOU STAY?
There’s actually two places. Panama City Beach is one because I can just sit on the beach and listen to the waves crash. It literally makes it to where I don’t have to think about anything. Tokyo, Japan is the second place, because I was born there and have no memory of it. I would go on a Ramen tour with my family.4 -

CW: 137.0Ugh my new Trike just lost all power on the way home last week. I'm sad about that. We have contacted HJM Bike, and they have allowed us an exception of returning the Trike. I have lost all confidence in their brand. I typed up all the stuff we would be dropping off and asked them to calculate our refund I'm waiting on that information. They said if its not defective then they are keeping 20% of the purchase price. It's defective, a $3000 Bike should be able to handle a few hills without any problems. I miss my Trike it was perfect riding weather this weekend. My husband found another brand and we had our local Bike Shop contact them the see if they can buy it and then we but it from them that way if it has a problem they will work on it. I'm hoping Meet One say's yes. I need to go and dust my old Trike and take pictures of it.
I finally sprayed those weeds today; it took 5 gallons of weed killer. I used the one-year weed killer this time to see how it works.

@baodell17724 big disco fan here! been listening to Studio 54 Radio a lot recently!
QUESTION: WHAT TYPE OF MOVEMENT OR EXERCISE BRINGS YOU JOY, AND HOW DID YOU DISCOVER IT?
Gymnastics! Found a gym that offered adult gymnastics about 10 years ago and loved it. Haven't been in almost a year, but definitely want to return. Also met my coach there who has become one of my best friends.
ICE BREAKER QUESTION: IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW, FOR AS LONG AS YOU LIKE, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND FOR HOW LONG WOULD YOU STAY?
Would like to go to Japan for a few months! I've been once and had a terrific time.

@TeresaW2024 I'm glad to hear you are home now and Joe is better. Big hugs to you both! <3
@bobboyardee WOO HOO BOB! Way to go!
@baodell17724 I love disco! And I love dancing! I don't really go dancing anymore but I have fond memories of it.
@vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on the loss!
@littlebabekitty So nice to hear you are coming back! Welcome back!!!
@Katmary71 I'm glad you liked the video. Yeah he's pretty good! I hope you get ones that are like you requested. You have to try the tikka recipe, it is soooo good! Using a bottle of marinade is a nice short cut. That would be fun to make Thai food with you and then read after! Oh gosh about the coffee, that stinks! Everything is easier with clear instructions, that's great you made some for the mushrooms. Hopefully you got the cats to come in. Dinner sounds amazing and easy!
@FushiaKat I'm so sorry about your Trike. :(
DISCUSSION QUESTION: What type of movement or exercise brings you joy, and how did you discover it?
I really like a couple of things: hiking and weightlifting. I like hiking because I enjoy being out in the sun and in nature. There are so many places to hike here. I discovered hiking through one of my best friends who hikes all the time. Weightlifting, I enjoy because it makes me feel powerful and confident. I haven't done it for many years but I'm looking forward to getting back to it when we join the gym. I have lifted weights off and on since I was a teenager. I guess I discovered it while in high school, a friend and I joined a gym in our town and lifted.ICE BREAKER QUESTION: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, for as long as you'd like, where would you go and how long would you stay?
This is tough. There are so many places I would LIKE to go. I guess I would start off in Mexico City for two weeks. I am eventually going to get to Mexico City! I love all the culture there, the food sounds amazing, and there is a lot to do.Hi all. My husband has come down with a cold and feels awful so I don't know that we will go on Friday to sign up for the gym but, as long as I don't catch his cold, I will go sometime before Sunday evening. I am determined to sign up for the gym. Last night, there was a planned electrical outage all night so I didn't sleep with the air conditioner on like usual. Because of this, I only slept a little over 4 hours and am exhausted. I made a good recipe last night: Farro With Blistered Tomatoes, Pesto and Spinach. It's a NY Times recipe. I made homemade pesto for it. The recipe turned out really well.
Also...think about joining the F2F book club! The book we are going to read it Atomic Habits, a classic!
Tracked yesterday? Yes

@Katmary71 Oh that is awful that you spilled your coffee all over your bed. I hope you didn’t get burned! How smart to make a mushroom guide to make the work easier. Have fun at your nephew’s concert? Your dinner sounds so good! 🙂
@FushiaKat What a bummer that your Trike is having issues again! I hope you can get a full refund and find a more reliable brand. You need that wind in your face!! 😁
@trooworld, I am so sorry your husband came down with a cold. I hope you don’t catch it, and you can sign up for the gym. A planned power outage is crazy! 😬How often do you have to deal with that? I would have to move alone for that reason. I would join the book club, but I’ve learned that making a commitment to anything these days just doesn’t work. It is a great book! 🙂
Good morning! We had a good night’s sleep, and Joe is doing well so far. A plumber is coming out this morning to fix our wobbly toilets. I think the wax rings and maybe the bolts need to be replaced. Not thrilled to be out of money, but I figure we don’t want to wait until we have a bigger issue. The small treadmill walking pad arrived yesterday, and I will set that up today too, and see if Joe will like it. I hope so because he needs to move more or he is going to end up in a wheelchair for good. 😕
DISCUSSION QUESTION: What type of movement or exercise brings you joy, and how did you discover it? My rebounder brings me joy! I had heard about the benefits of rebounding for years and finally bought a cheap one. Then I found Earth & Owl on YouTube, and the rest is history. I now own a very nice rebounder and will jump forever! 😎

@TeresaW2024 - I am glad to hear you guys had a good night. Joe's lucky to have such a great partner.
@FushiaKat - How maddening about the defective trike. I hope the search for a good replacement goes well.
@trooworld - Yum. Blistered tomatoes and spinach dounds delicious!
@jessicakrall - Oooh, a review of Atomic Habits. I will take a look at the schedule! My old book group disbanded after two of the five moved to Canada. A new one, and one focused on health, would be fun.
@Katmary71 - I hope the coffee came out in the wash. The work on mushrooms sounds fascinating!
Good morning, all!
I had a good day yesterday, though my sleep last night was disturbed by a huge thunderstorm. I have been doing yard work this week, and am a little sad today because trask pikcup is today and I can't put out the five big bags of weeds and such. Yard things go in paper bags so that all the materials can compost, and it's still super wet out. So right now, my front porch is filled with bags of yard waste.
Extra excitement - my husband is getting in on the cleanup action. He cleaned out and rearranged things in the shed so that we no longer have kayaks lying out in the back yard. I am very excited. We now have a pile of things to take to the dump. We need to hunt for the reflective vests and helmets we bought last time we did this, so we don't have to buy a new set.
I had fun with meals yesterday. I tried two new recipes: navy bean hummus and a ginger-tahini sauce to go on steamed vegetables. Both were tasty.

Wednesdays
PW: 276.4 lbs
CW: 280.0 lbs
Some weight gain is due to salt retention from what I ate last night, but I have been binging/eating more lately. I haven’t been exercising as much as I’ve been busy looking at dogs, as my family is planning to get one, and we just had a holiday weekend, which sidetracked me as well. Lol. I didn’t want to get back to 280, but here I am. Ugh!

@19shmoo69 Are you still running?
@FushiaKat I’m so sorry to hear about your trike! I hope you have a new one soon, I agree with you that expensive of a bike should be able to handle hills.
@bobboyardee I love disco too I missed where this came up! Thanks for the music while I’m replying to comments!
@trooworld Thanks! I’m excited for you to join the gym! Oh shoot hope your husband is feeling better fast and you don’t catch it. The recipe sounds delicious! Oh fun I’m sure @AustinRuadhain will be into that book choice! I’ll see if I can get it from the library in time.
@TeresaW2024 Fixing the toilets now is the right call even though I know paying for it sucks. I really hope Joe likes the walking pad, definitely get him listening to some fun music or watching a good TV show while doing it!
@AustinRuadhain I knew you’d be excited about the book club reading one of your favorites! I’m sorry to hear about the storm keeping you up. It will be nice to get rid of all the extra stuff (and the weeds), great job getting cleanup done to both you and your husband! Oh yummy sauce!
@lislisa123 You’re only at 280 temporarily you got this! What kind of dog are you looking into getting?
Hi team! Last night’s concert went well, my nephew did great in his advanced band and jazz performances and solos. I stopped at my community garden last night and some turd cut most of my sunflowers that had bloomed! I can’t believe someone would do that WTH? I was planning to leave them on for seeds but when I saw someone had cut five and cut the last two and brought them home. Really disappointed I’m seriously thinking of bringing everything home but would rather beat the heck out of this person. Got in pok choy and lettuce in the high tunnel at the farm and did weeding. When I got home the rescue group called and I’m getting a litter of four 4-week old kittens Sunday, really excited to meet them! Fosters buy the food and litter and vet visits are covered so money is going to be even more tight but I think it’s worth it. Have a great rest of Wed and Thursday!

Hi 👋
I went to PT for my knee this morning. The twisted and turned and pushed and pulled, tested for strength, etc… they decided, I need to build up the muscle all around it and gave me exercises to do. I'll be going back next week.
I came home and did a little bit of stuff, but my knee is hurting all ready lol...
Now, I'm just sitting here getting ready to catch up on my shows. I think maybe I'm going to check out some chair yoga or some kind of exercise that I can do sitting down.
My bleed is definitely gone and Friday I'm going to see my regular dr to make sure the anemia is getting back to normal.
Y'all have a good day 😊

I just got a call from Cory, one of the guys that I work with. Kathy is a woman I have worked with for 15 years; she was the company shipper. She just retired 2 months ago. Cory got a text from Kathy's daughter Lindsay. Kathy had a heart attack. She didn't make it. I'm in shock and disbelief. I'm trying to figure out how to honor her life and our friendship, and not dwelling on her passing.
