HOW IT ALL WORKS: The May challenge runs for four weeks, from May 4th - May 31st.

Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!

We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leader board. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce or re-introduce yourselves right away, and let's get May on the road!

I am one of your Mission Slimpossibles captains along with the fabulous @Katmary71 ! Our motivator is the inspiring and supportive @micaroo4 !

    MY INTRODUCTION

Hi everyone. My name is Chris. I live in Southern California with my husband, cute one-eyed pirate pug named Daisy (9 yrs old) and pug pup name Violet who is 2 yrs old. Up until my mid-20s, I was a healthy weight but then the mid-20s hit and along with that came medications that made me gain weight as well as poor lifestyle choices. At my highest weight, I was 257 lbs. I just had gastric bypass surgery on Dec 20, 2024 to save my life. I had to do something fast as I was losing my mobility. I haven’t had to use a cane since my surgery! I hope to get down to around 165 lbs, or whatever is healthy for me. For exercise, I like to walk with my husband and friends. Up until my surgery, the arthritis in my knee limited me a lot. I am doing a lot better since surgery and a cortisone shot. Besides walking, I occasionally do water aerobics or hike. My husband and I love to cook, I've got 9,125 recipes saved but who's counting? LOL Seriously, I do and they are all organized, so if you need a recipe for ANYTHING, let me know! I've got everything from healthy foods to pet treats to recipes for cleaning supplies. My hobbies: reading, making artwork and crafts, photography, and cooking. I do straight-up calorie counting of healthy foods.

    Here's me:

    MY INTRODUCTION

Hi all! My name is Mica, and I live in Dover New Hampshire with my boyfriend Rich and my fabulous cat Earl. I'm 69 years old, and I work 3 days a week as a bookkeeper in a plastics factory. I plan to retire in July 2026. I'm at my goal weight (range 127-133). I lost the weight by tracking my food. Everyone hates doing it, but logging works. Did you know that studies have shown that people who log their food lose twice as much weight, on average, as those who don't? I lost the weight over 20 years ago, and I'm still tracking every Bite,Lick and Taste (BLT). I do a strength training workout every morning, and I walk at least 30 minutes every day. In nice weather and in the right season, I'm outside riding my bicycle. In poor weather/season, I have a stationary bike and an elliptical for cardio. My favorite craft is crochet. I love to cook.

    Introduction time

    Hi I’m Dave.

    Wait I’m not Dave.

    Let’s try this again.

    Hi I’m Dave.

    Ugh! I did it again.

    My name is not Dave.

    Say it slowly

    Hi

    My

    Name

    Is

    Dave

    Arggggg!!!!

My name is not Dave! Why do I keep doing that ?!?!?

Ok, calm down, breath in deep, exhale, inhale, exhale.

Now remember Luke your name is not Dave.

Wait what? My name’s not Luke either.

Ok listen just stick with what you know.

Hey everyone! My name is Lisa, but I go by Lis here—which is probably helpful, considering there’s another Lisa in the group, who, oddly enough, is also from Florida. Lol!

My highest weight was 373 lbs, and I’m currently at 274.6 lbs, meaning I’ve lost about 100 lbs so far! My next goal is to hit 270 lbs, then work my way down to 250 lbs. It’s been about 15 years since I was in the 270s, and dropping back into that range felt amazing.

Ultimately, I’d love to reach 225–220 lbs, but honestly, just getting to 250 lbs would be a huge win—it’s been around 20 to 21 years since I weighed that, and it would be incredible to see that number again.

    Lol… @19shmoo69 that intro was funny 😁

    Hi 👋

    I'm Anna,

I live with my hubby, Chris and my best buddy, Chipper. I have 4 adult kids and 11 grand beauties 😍. I have been struggling with my weight for about 20 years, which is hard because until about my 40's, I couldn't gain weight if I tried. I'm relatively, kind of lazy, but I am trying to be more active. With spring trying to make an entrance here in the great PNW, it's getting a little easier. I love to dance and crochet. Here is a picture of my latest project I'm working on for my MIL. I am in love with these colors

    My intro first…

Hello everyone! My name is Jennifer and I’m a single 51 year old. I have an American Blue rabbit (her name is Kismet). I have 3 children in their 20s and they have all blessed me…I went from zero to 5 grandchildren in 22 months! I go by Grammy since I consider them to be my Grammy Awards 😊

I love to rubber stamp (I’m a Stampin’ Up demo) and make cards. I'm an active member of my church, and also love horror movies. I have worked in Community Development at my County for over 20 years.

I have always been a yo-yo dieter, but mostly up. When I lose weight, I can never seem to keep it off for longer than a year. I have 54 more pounds to lose (goal is 155). I am, by nature, a Negative Nancy, but I am trying to stay focused and positive. I recently joined Whole Life Club, which is part of the Food Revolution Network. Hoping to learn lots and get connected with like-minded whole food, plant based peeps. I’m focusing on heart health right now, so lots of articles and interviews with experts to keep me busy and (hopefully) just sipping on tea (instead of oversnacking).

My Mantra: 2025 is MY year!

@trooworld – Finally got my pineapple yesterday! I’m sorry about your dinner issues and small kitchen. I think a double basket air frying is the smartest way to go so neither of you has to sacrifice for the other. I can’t wait to squeal with delight with you when you hit Onederland!

@19shmoo69 – So glad you were able to rotate smaller clothes to the front! I have always had an awful time with potlucks – what do I make, will it be enough, will it be too much, will people like what I make, it will be so embarrassing if no one eats it….and on and on my brain goes. Nice intro, BTDubs hahahaha

@DrewsAnna – Love the camping pictures…but pretty sure that’s a squirrel hahahaha Chipper is adorable 😊 and I see you had a delightful Smirnoff Ice! One of my favorite drinks! Nice job with the fruits and veggies on the trip. Gorgeous afghan!

@bobboyardee – So if I understand you correctly, you’re volunteering as tribute to take my place in the yearly Skip-Bo game with my mother, huh? Hahaha I’ll take an introduction in lieu of payment.

@AustinRuadhain – You can always share Scout stories with us!

@trooworld – Your lunch does sound delicious! I do so love all types of tea.

@TeresaW2024 – I didn’t realize Joe and my mom are the same age 😊 Ice cream and apple pie will be yummy! I bought A&W Root Beer and Soy ice cream to do floats for my mom, but everyone was too spent by the end of the night. I told her we’ll make them Sunday after lunch. That woman has been pouting about it 3 times a day cuz I won’t let her get into them. Hahaha. Oh no! I hope Joe starts feeling better soon. Hugs and prayers.

@Katmary71 – How awful about the geese. I’m so sorry.

@Cornanda – I’m with you on conferences. I used to enjoy them and I’d take Hunter with me and we’d fit in a couple extra days and make it into a mini-vacation. But now that she has littles, I would have to go alone and I really don’t want to. Glad to hear you’ll be taking a turn with some time off.

@micaroo4 – I love the BLT! I’m gonna have to use that to remind myself that it all counts! Earl is looking mighty cute 😊

Well, everyone, I was forced to do a refrigerator reset…it decided to go kaput, most likely Monday while I was out and about with my mom, but I noticed on Tuesday. The fridge portion stopped working, but thankfully the freezer was still working. I hadn’t budgeted for a new fridge since Wednesday I had a $400 car repair. But after I picked up my car, I headed right over to Lowe’s and in less than 10 minutes, had purchased a new one and it was delivered the next day. I thought back to a horror movie I have from 1976 called Squirm. In part of the movie, they have to go buy a large block of ice for their fridge since it wasn’t electric. I stopped at a gas station and grabbed a 20# bag of ice and divided it into 4 large containers and added some cold water. Put my stuff in those and most of my things were still good by the time the fridge was delivered yesterday! Of course, I lost most of my produce, tho, so I did some shopping last night. Anyway, long story short (too late), is that my fridge is so shiny and pretty now and I have glass shelves and drawers now so I can see what I have without opening anything. That’s exactly what I need!

    2025 is MY year!

@Katmary71 I’m glad your interview with the nurse case manager went well, and I really hope you can get the help you need. It’s frustrating that you can’t get an appointment when needed!  😕

@trooworld I have never heard of Kevin’s meal kits, and they look really good! My Walmart sells a few of them, so I have the Korean BBQ and Roasted Garlic Chicken in my cart. I could buy them at Thrive, which I have a membership to, but they cost almost $2 more. However, it will be worth it if I want to try the other flavors. Congrats on your loss this week!  🙂

@vegan4lyfe2012 Root beer floats are the best, so no wonder your mom is pouting to get one. Joe recently said he would like a root beer float, so I might have to make that happen for him, too. Ugh, on having to buy a new refrigerator. I just bought my niece a new dishwasher when the one in her new house decided to die. That girl will be paying me back long after I’m dead! 🤣

Good morning! Sorry, I’ve been MIA. I called for an ambulance on Thursday morning, thinking Joe had another UTI, but he didn’t. They then thought he had a minor stroke because he was complaining about his right fingers being numb and had trouble using that hand. So they admitted him and ran all the tests. No stroke, thank God, but they did say he has spinal stenosis, which is a narrowing of the spinal canal, which can be the cause of his numb fingers. They asked if I wanted to talk to the surgery team, and I said heck NO!! If this isn’t something life-threatening, we are not doing a surgery where he has to go under anesthesia, which is not suitable for people with dementia. So, I’m still at a loss as to what was wrong with him on Wednesday, when he acted like it was a UTI. We finally came home yesterday at 5 pm exhausted from sitting for two days in the hospital. I fed him and put him to bed. Yesterday was also my sister's birthday, and we had plans to party, so we drank a little and had cake and ice cream. We were both tired and went to bed at 10 pm. My weight is wayyyyyy up, and today, I will work out and try to get back on track.  😕

@DrewsAnna Cleaning counts as exercise! Great colors in your project.

@vegan4lyfe2012 I hope it's a sweet one! We made the mistake of getting a pre-cut up pineapple from Sam's Club and it was bitter and horrible! Today, I am getting a fresh pineapple from Sam's so that will be better. Thanks, I agree, now if I can convince him of that lol. Thank you, I'm hoping it will be next week! I'm sorry about your fridge...we had to get a new one unexpectedly a few years ago and it was pretty expensive. AND car trouble? You are getting hit hard, that stinks. Sorry you lost your produce. I'm glad you like your new fridge!

@TeresaW2024 I hope you like them! Thank you! It sounds like you've had a stressful couple of days. Decompressing with your sister was perfect!

Hi all. I went to the dietitian yesterday and it went well. She was pleased with my progress. Her only notes for me were to increase my strength training (from zero to two to three days). I asked about the calorie range. I told her I have been eating about 700-1100 calories a day and she said that is just perfect. I decided to join the paid version of Leslie Sansone's Walk At Home program. It's only $6.99 a month, so it's not a huge investment. I did 15 minutes of a 45-minute video yesterday before I left for the dietitian. Then, when I was in the kitchen making dinner, I did a 500-step video that is free for everyone on YouTube...that one only takes 5 minutes to do so you can squeeze it in at any time. Today, I hope to do another video. I also have to go grocery shopping and then later today, I am going hiking with a friend. Here's the 500-step/5-minute video, in case anyone wants to try it while they are cooking lol:

    Tracked yesterday? Yes!

ICE BREAKER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: How do you relieve the stress of your daily life?

I meditate every day when I get home from work, and I review my day in my journal at the end of each day. Sometimes I do some yoga if I'm feeling physical kinks in my muscles from the built-up stress of the day. Sometimes I sit down with a cup of hot herbal tea, a purring cat, and some relaxing music.

@trooworld I'm super curious what you think of the paid Leslie Sansone program! I actually have VHS tapes she sold on QVC ages ago.

I need to do my intro and catch up, been a busy day I had the garden club then a plant sale in other town (came home with a goji berry plant Squeee! I got my friend a pumpkin on a stick plant for her birthday too it's an ornamental eggplant that in fall the leaves die and the sticks are dark with these pumpkin-shaped eggplants:

    image.png

). I won tickets in the garden club raffle to a Permaculture fundraiser that's happening tonight for a group that's raising money for a food forest they'll be making on Big Day of Service and am headed out the door but wanted to say hi to everyone and let you know I didn't disappear! I got rid of some plants I donated to the garden club then had taken 2 dozen egg muffins and they were gone before the break, I'm shocked they went so fast but they were the only savory thing. The ministry store had a couple of nice wigs donated and the owner posted about giving them away, I asked for them for my roommate as she has alopecia totalis and they're actually real nice and will look great on her and came with accessories and a head to put them on.

For the Challenge that starts Monday can everyone do the brain dump tomorrow or Monday so we can write what we're doing for the categories? I'm saving to choose with the brain dump. Have a great Sunday friends!

    Hi,

I'm the other Lisa from FL. Hi @lislisa123 !

My family consists of DH, DD, DS and DD (dear dog). I've been struggling with weight for a long time, but finally making progress with Mayo Clinic diet. We also got our garage exercise room up and running and I've been enjoying working out in it.

Keeping it short and sweet today as I leave for the conference at 12 today and lots to do.

    @19shmoo69 - Hi Dave!

@Katmary71 That pumpkin stick plant is so cool! What does that mean you are raising money for a food forest? Your egg muffins must have been delicious! How nice of you to get those wigs for your roommate. I need to finish Mel Robbins’ podcast today and get my download printed. I’m a little scared to do a brain dump and discover what is inside my head.  🤔

Good morning! I decided to keep us home from church today and will watch it on YouTube. Joe was still weak yesterday, as always after a hospital stay. Today, I plan to get him moving around more. This morning, I will help my sister drag out all of my niece's Christmas stuff and containers she has stored in my spare closet. Then I will move all my Christmas stuff into the closet from the garage and give my niece the two big shelves for her garage. My sister and I have SUVs, so having extra space in the garage will be nice. Have a good day! 🙂

ICE BREAKER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: How do you relieve the stress of your daily life? It’s a daily challenge, for sure! First, I spend time in prayer and Bible reading. I just got a new Spiral Bible, which is amazing!! I also get a lot of stress relief from my workouts and my puzzle time.

    Hi!👋

I'm Sandy from Central TX. I live with my hubby John along with our cat Tigger and dog Diesel. We have 2 children DD and DS who are grown with families of their own.

My weight loss journey started back in 2013 when I had a heart attack and quit smoking. I gained over 50 lbs. At 186 I decided to do something about it. I started trying all the fad diets and managed to lose 11 lbs. The scale was stuck. I joined this group 2.5 yrs ago and the scale is moving again.

I don't post much but I read everyone's posts every morning while drinking my morning coffee. I have a routine life, which is not exciting to anyone. So my post are a few here and there. I love reading everyone's post for motivation. It helps me start my day. I do want to thank @DrewsAnna for mentioning the Wegovy in one of her posts. It has been a game changer for me. I do finally see myself reaching my goal weight. The sad part 2 yrs ago when I started decluttering one of the things I got rid of was all my size smaller clothes. Mostly my jeans. I am looking forward to buying new clothes but was hoping not to have to until I lost all the weight. 😁

    Sunday Weigh In: May 4

    SW 175

    PW 164

    CW 164

I was down to 163 all week until we went out with friends to dinner last night. Tonight is my 3 dose of 0.5mg of Wegovy. This week will be much better.

@DrewsAnna I hope you feel better soon.

@Katmary71 I like it! I wish it were easier to narrow down the videos by weights/bands etc but it's fine as it is. The videos run from less than 10 minutes to over 61 minutes and you can narrow down by time, instructor, type of video (e.g. 3 Mega Miles), or exercise type (walk/cardio, stretch/yoga, upper body strength, full body strength, lower body strength, abs/core, mindfulness, warm up or cool down) or you can search for a particular video. You can "favorite" videos for later. There are monthly plan playlists, for instance the May one has 27 different videos to try. If you have an Amazon Firestick, you can play the app on your TV (that's what I do). There is a free trial you can try: https://www.walkathome.com/ I love those pumpkin on a sticks! I didn't realize they were eggplants. I hope you had fun at the fundraiser. That was nice of you to think of your roommate for the wigs. I will do the brain dump today.

@TeresaW2024 I hope all goes well today.

ICE BREAKER QUESTION OF THE WEEK: How do you relieve the stress of your daily life?
I usually do something to distract myself: I watch some funny TV show, I do some crafts, if I am at work I will go for a quick walk. Something to get out of my head. Sometimes I will listen to calming music. There is a genre of music called Glitch Hop that I find very soothing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xULpcrQ2qdk

Hi all. Yesterday didn't go as planned: I did a 30-minute aerobic/walking video and my knee was hurting throughout it. It's been 3 months since I got the cortisone shot and I think it's starting to wear off. I am going to make an appointment with the orthopedic doctor for another one. So, instead of hiking, my friend and I went for a 45-minute walk and then sat on a bench and talked. It was nice. I did a total of over 2 hours of exercise between a couple of aerobic/walking videos and walking. It is supposed to rain today, which is a bummer because we are supposed to go to my art opening and then to an animal-centered event at a nature sanctuary, which is outdoors. We'll definitely go to my art opening but I'm not sure about the animal event if it rains. For dinner last night, I made Tacos Al Pastor (pork tacos in red sauce) + refried beans + my husband made elote (corn stuff). It was delicious but I could only eat a taco and a small amount of elote and beans.

    Tracked yesterday? Yes!

Can’t say I have been doing very well with tracking. I’d like to try for at least today. Small steps. May not be every day, but perhaps as I do here and there it will become more consistent. I’d previously talked about Wegovy for weight loss. Still haven’t heard about any approval. Joined a fb group and honestly on the fence. The results look amazing, but not sure the potential side effects are worth it-makes me nervous. Will take more thinking. Maybe the old fashioned way will help. Still trying to resolve plantar fasciitis but still do walk and bike. Will try to keep posting.

    Hi 👋

I'm feeling a bit better today. I'm going to go outside for a bit since the sun is out.

I have a "jungle" out there as hubby calls it, that I need to pay attention to.

@txcritter69 I started .25 in Nov., I was supposed to be started with weight mgmt clinic at the same time. They couldn't get me in until May 7th, yes, this coming Wednesday. My heart dr was the referring physician. In January, I asked to be bumped up to .5, that was a fiasco because they didn't understand what I was talking about. In February I finally started the .5 increase. I'm so glad that as of Wednesday, I'll finally be working with the weight mgmt clinic instead of winging it on my own. I should be on much higher dose by now.

Now, I have lost about 10 lbs, ranging between 156 & 157, and that is around 10 lbs, I am very thankful for that

A little unknown fact about me. I have custom made pillow that weighs 8+ pounds. It is the pillow I use to sleep on at night. Every now and again it has to be adjusted. The best way to adjust it is to have little feet jump up and down on it.
