Yikes. I'm not even sure why I'm up that much, other than my trainer was out of town on Monday and I didn't get a workout. She's coming today, so I'll have to get going soon.
Sarah, I hope you're feeling a little better. It worries me that you haven't started the posts yet. I had a day yesterday at a "fairy festival" with granddaughters, and was too exhausted to start one when I got back. I'm thinking about you. Check in when you can to let us know, and when you'll be getting surgery.💗
Lois, wow, that is a beautiful car. I'm sure you're really going to enjoy driving it. And your veggies looked so yummy. I hope you get rested up and feeling more energy. I know it's getting hot there because it's getting hot here. For outdoor activity, morning is the only good option.
Kelly, I'm sure you're soooo busy with the new home and all else in your life. Hopefully you'll soon be able to add self care into your regular schedule.
Sorry to be brief. I'll check back after my workout. Take care.

Sheesh - oh my goodness!! your picture is cuteness overload!! The grands are adorable and you look fantastic!!! I don't care what your scale says - you look fabulous! Keep it up.
I believe I stated that I resume with my trainer next Tuesday. I'm actually looking forward to starting again. And in the same morning, I have my first meeting with the bariatric doctor. We'll see where we end up after that appointment. And yes, it is warming up over here….we had rain during the firs part of the week, and now our pool is green. Hopefully the pool guy's magic will turn it blue before Rhea comes on Sunday. The weather is warm enough for her to jump in, but the water is still far too chilly for Grammy to participate. Hubby is enjoying the new car. I have eaten most of my veggies with hummus before they'd turned. I did cook a couple of meals but last night I was so exhausted and ordered yellow chicken curry and pad thai. So that will be dinner for tonight as well. Tomorrow who knows.
Sarah - hoping all is better for you this week.
Kelly - You're in my thoughts and prayers as you prep and pack for your new home moves.

And so the boucing around goes on. I hit 127 something one day and realized that because I'm terrified of irritating my colon, I was just not getting enough nutrients. So I added some drinks that are high in protein and include a lot of the vitamins and minereals, but that add 400 kcals per small bottle. That, plus still not being able to eat the healthy goods (raw veggies, lean red meat, etc.) that was the core of my diet has taken it's toll.
And I'm sorry I didn't get here yesterday. I did weigh yesterday norming, but it has been quite the week. Sunday night, I did not sleep hardly at all. I had discomfort across my lower belly. So at 4 a.m., I decided that I could not do what I did in December/early January (just keep riding it out) and I woke hubby up and said "Lets go to the ER." Thankfully at 4:30 on a Monday morning things were slow at the ER and I was taken right in, given a CT with contrast (I'm going to get cancer from just so many of these!!), a urine test, a blood test, etc. And the good news is that the diverticulitis had cleared up and all the tests came out normal. So why the pain? They discharged me with a diagnosis of cystitis, but when I followed up with my PCP on Tuesday, she wasn't convinced. She said that since I was on Cipro, that of course, my urine would not have bacteria, and that the only symptom they noted other than pain, was a slight thickening of the bladder wall, which she said was very minimal and not something she'd be inclined to send me to a urologist about. So I really have no idea. I just want to get beyond having my lower belly uncomfortable and being afraid to eat like a normal, healthy person.
As you can imagine, after no sleep Sunday night and getting up at 4 a.m. on Monday, the rest of that day was just a blur. I did make it to class on Tuesday, and felt pretty good, but was then tired in the afternoon, and yesterday I seemed to just drag, too. After unseasonable cool temps and 40 days and 40 nights of rain, the heat and humidity has moved in. Between wetness and heat and belly issues, my steps were way down (7-day average = 8,854) and my average burn was not so hot either (1,631). Hope I can do a little better this week and that my weight will settle down. But like I said, I'm more concerned about health than the scale right now.
Meantime, my great niece died after holding on longer than anyone anticipated. Services are Saturday, but we are not going to be able to make the trip. You know, better times just have to be coming.
Sheesh, you do look fabulous and your grands are super cute. I love the tiara!Lois, good luck with the trainer and let us know what the doc says. Your pics of the veggies reminds me of the old days when you were prepping and packing food all the time. I neve knew how you were able to do that much.
Kelly, I know moving is a pain in the behind, and I hope it goes well. I was thinking, if I moved, I might finally get all my cabinets and closets cleaned out! Yesterday, I did take two big boxes full of clothing and household items to donate to a thrift shop that directs its proceeds to the animal shelter. That included a number of items with the tags still on them and several pairs of shoes that I wore maybe two times. And I know I'm still hanging on to some things that really need to go to someone who will use them. A little at a time, I guess. Hope you can share some pics of the new house once you're settled. Hope the kids are doing well, your work is calming down, and that Shawn's foot is still doing better.
Well, time to get busy. I made it to class again this morning, came home for lunch, and then ran errands, so now I need focus on a couple of things that I've been putting off but that I really need to get done before my surgery.0 -
Lois, thanks for the compliment, but I am getting older (we can't escape that I guess) so I can feel that my energy has declined, while my waist had increased, lol. As you said, I will keep with doing what I do (trainer) and I'm going to add more walking to see if that increases energy. I believe you mentioned you are not traveling until after July, and that you're starting back with your trainer, etc. Glad you're doing that, and please share what their recommendations are.
Sarah, I was so relieved that your tests at the ER were negative. I'm so sorry about the pain you have though, and I'm perplexed (as I know you are) as to what the cause of it might be. Does your doctor still plan surgery if they aren't able to find the problem on the tests? I looked up cystitis, and it had a definition having to do with the bladder or a UTI. I'm guessing they had to wait for the diverticulitis infection to clear up before the surgery? But then, do you still need the surgery? Anyway, I'm sure you've had all the same questions, and that you have answers. I'm amazed at your ability to still get good step averages, and attend your classes in spite of pain.
Today, I'm still sore from my trainer Thursday and gardening yesterday. I'm trying to get motivated to do a cardio workout. It's a nice day, so I think I'll get outside for a walk.
Have a good weekend.
