Hi everyone Happy Monday,
I had to meet with the countertop guys this morning, so I will have countertops in like 2 weeks, then they measure for the back splash and do that, I thought they would do it all at once. So I am still quite a ways away from before and after pics, but it's nice that all of my decisions are made. Hardware is ordered, paint is purchased. I have nothing left to decide, oh wait rugs, I have to decide rugs. lol
This weekend was pretty good food wise, not exercise wise, but food is the main battle so I feel good.

I took some pictures on my Forest Walk this morning - especially for @Kali225 ! I am blessed to live incredibly close to the Forest of Wye. I can walk to it in about 10 minutes. This morning I went to the section of the forest that used to be an old decommissioned railway path. A 10 minute drive will take me to the Visitor Centre where there is a huge forest with clearly defined hiking paths and loads of activities for absolutely everyone to enjoy. It's something that I don't take advantage of nearly enough.
We're also on the river - the River Severn to be exact. And again, no more than 10 minutes' walk away. It is beautiful here.
So of my 5 planned workout routines. I like to have 3 strength workouts and 2 walks. This morning I walked 2.5 miles and surprised myself. I didn't think that my legs were up to it!
@energyseeker I absolutely adore the picture you shared of your grandsons under the rock. I am in completely in awe of the rocks in the picture. I admire you for completing the hike!
I hope everyone has a great week. I have a busy week ahead, although today (thankfkully) was home-based.

Hey Teamies! wishing you all a happy Monday 🙋♀️.
I got my PT knees/legs exercises done yesterday. Working on the tracker this weekend helped me get my head on straight again, re: Pt exercises. There are two that were recently added that are suuuper painful to do, that combined with recent repeated swelling from away trips/rest recovery weeks, have had me gun-shy about doing them. I just did the two dreaded ones first, and got them out of the way (took almost 9 mins to do two sets of 10 each exercise, each leg (so, 80 reps total), for forward step downs, and lateral step downs. My MedbridgeGo app says the 12-exercise routine is a 23 min routine - nope! 44 mins (about usual, for me). 🤨
Kali, cool, on the support team. Great concept/idea! Interesting, on the Marley Spoon! We tried EveryPlate last summer, for um, 5 or 6 wks, I think. It was fun, trying new things all the time. The boxes were never complete tho, there was something missing every box. They gave credit, ofc, but it was annoying to call every week, and to have to find last min substitutions, so I put it on 'skip' every week since then, lol. Not sure why I haven't cancelled …. maybe we'll try again sometime. Or, more likely, try another kit. (wtg on the spontaneous jogging!)
No wildfire smoke yet, up here in Maine, Joann/cleaneater. The low pressure/rain systems must be keeping it south of us. What a kind thought, for those displaced by the wildfires 🤲
Fun! on the tomatoes and zucc's, Lauren, and wtg on walk!
Congrats on your success last week, Zan/zankash, Pizzafruit (what name do you go by, Pizza?), and Jackie/jguldi11 🥳 🎈✨. Hugs on the lymphedema, that is no fun, for sure. Do you wear compression socks? My Mom had lymphedema, her feet, ankles, and legs would swell so much when she didn't put her compression socks on. And ohhhh, looks like you had another successful weigh-in, Jackie! Well Done!
What a great Sunday, Kim/energyseeker :). I think you've found the energy source 😉, what a busy and fun day!
Hello Yinka/yinxFed! hehe, enjoyed your message. ooo, that unwelcome guest, just drops in unannounced, and hangs around, doesn't that rude Snack Monster! :p OMG, love those photos SO much! That bench is absolutely beautiful. You're right, you are so blessed to live so close to beautiful natural spaces.
Heya, Vikki/gidgetgoescrzy, you sound fun-busy too, like Kim. GL with your reno, and yup, food is the main battle! You lose weight in the kitchen, and get fit in the gym, someone said, sometime recently. Stuck with me, bc it's so true, isn't it?

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Our dinner was beautiful and yummy. I went with the scallops. My coworker made cupcakes for me at work today that we shared with the kids. Very sweet of her. I did eat one but logged it.
We also had lunch provided by one of our families. Tomorrow is last day with kids. Wednesday is a luncheon. I told you I had lots of challenges. That’s ok. I’ll keep going. Someday I’ll get myself moving again. Today I’m wiped out. Not sure what I’m doing for dinner today.
Yinka, I love your woods!! So pretty.
Vikki you’re getting close with the kitchen. Hang in there.5 -
Congratulations team on coming in second this week! 😄

CW: 138I’m still struggling with my willpower during the summer. Not being very busy makes me want to eat more. I’m still keeping up with my walking and strength training- just enjoying my food too much. I want to get my weight back down.

@Gidgitgoescrzy that's frustrating it will be a little longer than you thought. But I'm sure it will look great in the end!
@YinxFed those pictures are beautiful! And I LOVE your pants!
@mkksemail great job doing your PT exercises today. I always like to get the hard ones out of the way first.
Busy Monday back at work and then went to body pump class. I'm tired and will be going to bed early tonight. It's amazing how I'm more likely to make poor food choices or skip exercising when I'm tired.

@YinxFed I wish you could have seen how my face lit up at that carved bench!! gorgeous area, I am pea green.
@micki48 happy belated!! I have a challenge this week as well, our quarterly office event is on wednesday. It is actually at an indoor pickleball place, but with food and a bar. I don't really do hand-eye coordination so I doubt I'll get a lot of gametime in.
@mkksemail thank you! Meal kit was delicious again tonight - grilled chicken with red pepper relish, and a feta/orzo/zucchini salad. YUM. But totally with you on that kit you tried - absurd to constantly have missing ingredients!!
@lauren_989 haha I was looking at the % green table and thought… that can't be right
@energyseeker wow you are your grandkids are living up to your username! that's "energy" in a photo right there. I would freakin love to bounce around on one of those haha
My lower body workout tonight killlllled my left hamstring. I need to stretch it a lot before I fall asleep or I will be in bad shape tomorrow. But, got it done. In worse news, I can't find my wallet!! I am 99% sure it is in my apartment somewhere, but it eludes me. And I keep it pretty ship-shape around here. I'm going to call a store I was at on Thursday where I am sure I had it, and cross my fingers that maybe it got left behind. wish me luck!!

@cleaneater80 we've had some of the Canadian wildfire smoke here in Michigan off and on the last week. I hope it's not like this all summer again. I can only imagine how terrible it is for those who are directly affected.
@YinxFed what a beautiful place to stroll, and how fortunate to have it within walking distance! My neighborhood is mostly farm fields.
@Kali225 oh how stressful, I hope you find it! I lost my wallet once and it was a pain to replace my ID and bank cards.
I was in the middle of typing out a summary of the last few days and accidentally turned my phone sideways, which wiped the whole thing 😫😤
To sum it up, it's been busy and a little stressful the last few days. I made a poor choice for lunch yesterday, surprisingly was only about 100cal over my goal for the day. Today will be better.
I'm excited to be in the top 3 for our group last week, I don't think I've ever done that before! I'm hoping the downward trend continues.

YinxFed Love the pics. What a beautiful way to get your exercise in.
jguldi11 Fantastic loss. Your work is paying off.
babyw8gone What are some of the things you do when willpower is not enough? summer is a tough time to keep routine and healthy habits. Your steps seem to be higher.
Kali225 Hope you were able to find your wallet- that's the worst feeling.

Although a small loss it's nice to see and even more I'm feeling great about my food choices. I haven't read the book 'Let Them' by Mel Robins but it's something I'm using for stress and thoughts that are outside my control.

Kim/energyseeker, that bounce pillow looks like a blast!! I couldn't do it now with my bum knees, but I remember the joy of bursting up into the air :D.
Jackie/jguldi11, WOOOHOOOO congrats on your 1st ever Top Three showing! 💪
"Let Them". I didn't know that was a book, Joann/cleaneater. I recently read an article about the concept, sometime in the last month, I think. What a powerful release that little phrase is!
Heya, Lauren! Heya, Kali!
Happy Tuesdays, all around 🙋♀️
Cheers!

Well yesterday was not great, wasn't horrible, but wasn't great.
Today, I made a commitment to go to a party on July 5th, and there will be a couple of people who haven't seen me in a few years when I was 40lbs heavier, so I am excited for that, and hopefully that will kick me in the butt to try to get 5lbs off in the next 3 weeks, it would be nice to be back to my original goal of under 145.
I just have to keep that in my head for 3 weeks… lol

Hi @lauren_989 thank you for checking in! We had a long weekend here and my mum came to stay with me, and now I'm interstate for work for the first time since the Horrors, so that's a whole new thing. I'm doing ok, eating has been off track because of guests and travel, and I actually got less steps than usual because my mum isn't super mobile.

More nature hikes and air pillow jogging with grandsons. We head back home tomorrow. I’m looking forward to sleeping in my comfy bed again. Last night was not pleasant. 7 y/o must of ate too much and maybe swallowed pool water. He 🤮 in the bed in middle of night and guess who had too clean it up. Not much sleep after that , he’s feeling normal today.

@lauren_989 I really like the Yoga with Adrienne videos on YouTube, she has a variety of different types (beginners, advanced, fast, slow, etc.), but they all offer a great stretch!
@energyseeker oh no! I'm glad your grandson is feeling better. While vacation is nice, there's nothing quite like sleeping in your own bed after a time away.
Yesterday went well, I got a walk in the morning with one of my clients that helped us both feel more energized. In the evening I was soooo hungry, I don't think I ate enough carbs, but I had a lot of protein. My body does best when I have a balanced amount of protein and carbs, and if one is lacking then I'm hungry. I had a Fiber One bar and that helped some.
Today I have a short day at work, I have someone coming out to our house to give us an estimate for minisplit a/c (we have a boiler so the house isn't setup for central air), and this evening I have a funeral showing to go to. Not looking forward to that. It will be nice to snuggle my babies today.

Hi team - I am struggling. This was possibly noticed by my lack of participation for the last… two weeks? My husband and I are doing better. He is getting the help he needs and I'm getting the time away from him that I need. My second job is starting to kick my butt. But, I have four days off next week to go rafting in Moab. So, that will be fun. It's just been a lot of gluten free PB&J sandwiches for meals because of the second job.
My main job is a little better. The raise request I made a couple of months ago is finally going to be addressed (or so I have been told) tomorrow. Also, I came out of a meeting a little frustrated today, and expressed a piece of that frustration to my boss. He said that they have plans to fix the main issue that is frustrating me, I just need to give them a little time.
I did actually weigh in last week. I believe I was 181.2. I just never logged in to record it. I will weigh myself tomorrow and try to make sure it is recorded here. I don't think I've lost anything and I know that I need to turn some of these poor eating (and drinking) habits back around.
Oh! One last piece of info. I went to the orthopedic specialist and found out that I do have a tear in my meniscus. It is small, and does not need surgery. I was encouraged to get back to spin class, take it easy at pickleball, and listen to my body as I both train for the Hood to Coast and do CrossFit.

Quick ci, tho! ~
Big achievement milestone on my weights circuits! The trainer at PF put together an Upper Body/Core circuit, and a Lower Body circuit for me, back in February. They all started at 40 lbs, except for the Hamstring Curl machine, which I could only do at 30 lbs without the pulldown of the weights with my legs causing my booty to scoot all the way forward on the seat of the machine :p. WELL, I've been intermittently drifting between 40lbs and 50lbs for almost all them, for the last couple mos, but yesterday I noticed, hey, these are really easy to do! I moved up to 60 lbs on all of them (and could have gone higher on a couple!), except for the Hamstring Curl (I maaaybe could have gone up to 40 lbs, but wasn't sure, so stuck with 30 lbs), and the Seated Leg Press, on which I started at 60 lbs, but after only 1 rep moved up to 80 lbs ! Look at that, my legs ARE getting stronger, even if my knees feel no different :).
It was cold yesterday, and rainy/overcast Sat, Sun, and Mon. Sun is out again today, and it's about 10F warmer, so … yay !
Cheers~!

And, PS copy/paste :D ~
Re: my PT exercises - I just made this post in another group:
So-so week, in terms of checkboxes and weigh-ins, but feeling super uplifted, positive, and motivated, and feeling like my results aren't the full picture. They'll catch up with me, I'm sure! :D
Not sure why I never downloaded the MedBridgeGo app for my PT exercises (been doing them since Feb), but for whatever reason I downloaded it this rainy weekend, for my phone, and also logged in on my laptop. On my phone, all my exercises (12 of them) show up on 1 screen, as a playlist, so I took a screenshot of the playlist, and now I have an easier-to-glance at snapshot of the exercises, instead of flipping 8x11 page printouts. I like it better that way. The playlist is short vids for all the exercises. It says 23-min routine - hah! I never finish in under 45 minutes, now that the exercises are up to 12. I think the play list time is for just one leg, but other than squats, and the supine bridge, all of them have to be done 2 sets each, on each leg. Double legs, double time, that's the only thing I can figure :p.
I also, this rainy weekend, made a separate exercise tracker for the first time, instead of just having the exercise sesh's & daily step counts on my fitbit, or tracking Quidditch minutes at Hogwarts. Having a dedicated tracker really helped me with my freggie intake, I think having a dedicated tracker will also help me with my exercises - especially adding in flex and strength, which has been a 'goal' for 3 yrs now, but more like a notion of an idea of a possibility of an aspirational kind of sort of goal, rather than an actual achievable goal ;-). I guess I really just like geek trackers! 🤣
Anyway! feeling super positive, tho my Week 5 results don't actually support that ;-). On to Week 6 !!
Cheers, ~ mk :)

That is such a slap in the face, it was 147.8 on Saturday morning - I have got to get it together.
My son is leaving on saturday to go to his dads in SC for a few weeks, so I am going to make a concentrated effort to be more mobile, I have some ideas. I think I am going to subscribe to starz and watch the most recent season of Outlander, but like previous shows, I will only watch it while on the treadmill, which I haven't used in forever. Ya see the treadmill is in the basement where my son moved into, and I feel like it's invading his space to go use it, which is completely stupid because , it's not in his bedroom, it's in the hallway outside the laundry room, but it faces his little living area where the TVs are, that he doesn't use anyway. and it's my house !
I am also going to build a garden area in the front of my house, I already have one section, but I've been wanting to do the other section. Also I have an idea I saw to build a walkway in front of my back garden , so I can expand it. Luckily I think my husband is at a point where he can take a morning off, and go to the garden/ stone center with me.
I walked into my office this morning and it made me smile, I love my office I think it's so cozy, I'mma share a pic but it's on my phone, so it will be in the next post.
MK - Congrats on the weights increase, you are really kicking butt, feel free to kick mine, I need a swift one. LOL
Jolene - I feel ya , glad you and the husband, and 1st job are doing better. Rafting sounds fun.
Have a great day !
