@Deeder522 hope you enjoyed your visit with your BFF.
@Elfirose33 what a workout with your trainer!! So much in a short time. Definitely deserve that rest day.
@lclark04957 great job on your streak! And agree with manual labor as a natural gym.
In-laws just pulled out. I was able to get a walk in each morning as expected, a 3 mile, 2 mile and 3 mile. Also did quite a bit of outside work while they talked to a realtor. So fairly active weekend. Now getting all the laundry done and house cleaned!

I had a good time in Kalamazoo. I was there from 2 PM until about 8:30 PM. Got to see many different dogs. BFF was showing her Alaskan Klee Kai's for UKC but had her whole pack, which includes an old white fluffy rescue, a greyhound, and Basenjis. She started her Kennel with the Basenjis and added the AKK in the last couple of years. They will be up here, in Grand Rapids, for about 2 days before they hit the road to OK & TX for more shows. She and the whole team spend all of June on the road for dog shows/events.
Saturday I took as a recovery day. Today, being Father's Day, I'm letting Ryan take the lead on what happens. Maybe a walk later this evening, he says.0 -

It was Fatherβs Day so I pretty much chilled and enjoyed the day with hubby, but I must have moved more than I thought. The whole reason Iβm trying to get healthier is to do exactly that, enjoy life and family. Sometimes a goal needs a rest day.1 -
June Goals
Mileage Tacked: 41 / 75
Apple Challenge: Close my exercise ring 17 times. 12 /17Yesterday was very chill for us. We got Ry a DSLR camera, and he spent 90% of the day learning about it and testing it. π I already did my Park walk this morning and started laundry. I'm trying to get most things done so I can visit 1 ore time with the BFF before she leaves the state tomorrow.
Everyone has been making June THE best month. Strong πͺ and hitting goals!!

Took a rest day yesterday. We were exhausted by everything we got done over the weekend and our guests. Still got my steps in though, so on track for the 2 million by end of June.
@Deeder522 what a great father's day for you and Ryan.
Rest days are important @lclark04957 so glad you enjoyed yours.

Yesterday I walked Dottie 25 minutes. Update to my June goals: I have decided to stop doing personal lunges this month, as of yesterday, due to having a fantastic personal trainer in my life now. The lunges he's having me do (and everything else too) are so much harder than the ones I was doing on my own (even though mine were pretty tough too). This is so I can: 1) truly recover on the off days, and 2) do more stretching instead, which is what I think I really need right now. Also, he told me he's going to pick up the pace with me since I did so well at my first session last Friday. That's a compliment for sure, even though it does make me a little nervous about my immediate future π¬π More later.
@lclark04957 Great job!
@megd44 It truly was. Excellent job getting great walks in and outside work done while company was in town. Gold Star!! βοΈ I hope you can relax into the laundry and cleaning and have some fun! π
@Deeder522 Cool! Dogs are so fun, and hanging out with your BFF! Well done on your mileage and rings!

I'm taking a recovery day after a late night with the BFF.π€£ I had dogs in my lap for a good portion of the evening. πΆ Also, it's so dang hot today. The workouts will most likely be inside for the rest of the week.
1 -
I decided I'd Woman Up and take a walk around the farm this evening. It was dusty, and there was a bit of a breeze that helped, but it was a slower walk. π
1 -
Today I mowed for 30 minutes then walked Dottie for 25 minutes.
@megd44 I hope you can get some more rest 𧑠Wow, outstanding job being on track!!! I'm sure that was no easy feat, well done!
@Deeder522 Nice rest day. Oh that's fun with all the dogs! Good job walking in the dust and heat. I love slow walks the best.

It rained last night and looks like rain, on & off, today and tomorrow. YouTube workout for Improved Health this morning to the rescue. 45 sec of 1 movement, then 15 sec walk in place. 15 minutes later, I'm warm and done. A lot of arm movement today, too.
@Elfirose33 We haven't mowed in about a week. We knew that it was starting to warm up, and no rain forcasted for a while. So our yard is a bit long, but all the white clover has bloomed.
@lclark04957 Going stronger through the month!
@megd44 2 million steps by the end of the month!! Incredible!!! π€―
@zichab I hope you're staying hydrated and enjoying your time in Vegas!

Today I completed Personal Training Session #2 for 30 minutes and it went great! I couldn't believe how fast the 30 minutes flew by today, and all of it was so much fun! I did a circuit of rowing machine, box steps, and incline standing push-ups with a bar (using the bar in the same way that one might do push-ups at the kitchen counter). I'm going to have to work my way up to doing the plank push-ups on the floor again. I did not go to Tai Chi today because I took my dad to an appointment. Tonight I walked Dottie 20 minutes.
@Deeder522 Nice work! Your white clover blooming sounds lovely!

Standing Arm & Abs with weights workout this morning from Fit by Mik. It was my 1st time with this video and I really liked it.
We did have rain through the day and night yesterday, but it looks like we'll be in the clear by late morning. My contractor is coming back to install new vents for the bathroom and kitchen. We also added an inline filter on the fresh air intake for the house. OMG!!! That has made a dramatic difference in the way the basement smells, and we've seen a little improvement in his daily levels. The amount of air filtration we have going on in the place is something else.@Elfirose33 I loved to use the rowing machine when I went to the YMCA. Both the cardio version and the weighted version.
1 -
Great job @Elfirose33 with the trainer. Sounds like a challenging circuit and you rocked it!!
So glad we got the rain @Deeder522! YouTube definitely comes in handy on days like that. I am trying to convince hubby to plant clover around our fruit trees after hearing about yours.
Did Burn to the Beat this morning since it still looks like it wants to rain. Should be clearing today so hopefully can get outside walks in before the crazy heat coming Sunday/Monday.

Apparently I need to go to HOT Las Vegas more often as my plank was amazing when I got home! I could not believe it and I could have held it longer, but I was not sure I was holding form, so I dropped it. Rest days matter to strength -lesson learned!!!!
Las Vegas was a really nice rest for me. I walked 5 minutes outside every time my watch prompted me and it was nice. Obviously, at 109+F I could not be out for more than 5 minutes, but it was nice walking in the heat, which I normally hate. I did not go into the pool or do any walking in the sun, but it was still wonderful. We flew home at midnight and that is the last time we do that!!! I was beat Wednesday!
@Elfirose33 it sounds like your new trainer is going to whip you into shape "right quick!" π I think it makes sense to drop your personal lunges and do what your trainer is asking. No point in overdoing it right?
@lclark04957 You are burning up the miles and steps!!! Food is always the bane of our existence isn't it! You have done so well with your workout goals and I have great confidence that you will meet the food challenge as well!!!
@megd44 Our kids both workout at 6:00AM because of the heat in Las Vegas and we sleep until 8:00. You cracked me up when you said your in-laws sleep late so you can walk in the AM because I am sure my daughter-in-law probably has said the same thing!!! π€£
@Deeder522 Thanks for worrying, and I did stay very hydrated and enjoyed the dry heat of Las Vegas. I am not looking forward to the heat wave coming our way though. It is supposed to be 93F on Monday and up here that means a steamy 93 UGH!!!!! I am so glad you have an air filtration system that is working so well. Hopefully, it will help Ryan and then all of you when the smoke is around.
Tomorrow is another plank day so we shall see how it goes! π

I woke up to some achy feet. I pampered them this morning with the massage gun, & gave them a rest for most of the day. Tonight, they let me walk in the park for 1.5 miles. I came back and treated myself to a popsicle.
We're under a Heat Advisory until at least Tuesday. Temps in the 90s and heat index in the 100s. This is when I enjoy having the office in the basement. π
@zichab I'm glad you had a good visit with the family.

Today I completed my personal training session #3 where the main work, aside from the wonderful warm-up and cool down, was an AMRAP for 15 minutes (AMRAP means As Many Rounds As Possible). The circuit for the AMRAP included: stationary bicycle to reach a specific marker at a manageable pace for the entire duration + 10 reps of squats while lifting and lowering a weighted disc + 10 ring rows. The stationary bicycle was the hardest one⦠so tiring, seemingly unending and relentless! It took me approximately 60-90 seconds or so to accomplish this each round, whew! In the end, I finished 5 complete rounds of that circuit in the 15 minutes. After that I was dripping sweat and completely tuckered out!!
I'm trying to savor every moment in these sessions because this is all going by way too fast! It has been very hard work but also so much fun and quite empowering! And everything I do now is easier because I am now moving better in every way after just three 30-minute sessions so far, and I can't believe it! Feeling sad to see this all draw to a close soon in the next week and a half, but at least I have whatever it is that's next to look forward to because these personal training sessions are only the beginning!
Later this afternoon I mowed for 60 minutes in the heat (99 degrees) and tonight I walked Dottie for 30 minutes.
@Deeder522 Wow, that's great news that the addition of the filter is bringing improvement for Ry! The rowing machine is fairly new to me. I've used one before at the Y, but with next to no understanding about it, but that's all changing now. Oh no, sorry to hear about achy feet, that's no fun! Good job giving them a spa day π Nice walk! Oh, YUM, popsicles! Perfect:)
@megd44 Thank you so much:) Good job! I need to check out that Burn to the Beat sometime, sounds fun! Will keep you posted:)
@lclark04957 Way to go exercising! Yeah, food is a real challenge. I have to eat better now, too, so that I can do these training sessions.
@zichab Welcome back!! I've missed you too! Bummer you lost 2 responses, so sorry to hear. There's a "Save Draft" button on here, which I use all the time, but you probably already know about that. Anyway, thought I'd mention it just in case. Very handy! Excellent job on your plank! So glad you had a nice rest in Las Vegas, sounds wonderful! Good job walking in the heat 𧑠I love the summer heat, and the hotter the better! (I guess I enjoy extreme weather because you all know I love winter, too π). Yes, for sure, my trainer is amazing! Cool, glad you agree about my personal lunges. I figure I can add them back in when I get a stronger.

I need to edit this sentence to clarify, as the little window of time for making corrections closed before I could fix this:
"It took me approximately 60-90 seconds or so to accomplish this each roundβ¦" (meaning the stationary bicycle part).
Thanks! I feel better now having clarified this π
