Good morning!
I am so glad that the 4th is over. I've never been in combat, or the military, but I have PTSD since the kids were killed, and the randomness and loudness of the fireworks make me almost manic with anxiety. Frankie too! Large crowds, or crowded stores can also trigger an unexpected panic attack if I am not watchful.
It is still hard for Connie and I to get used to the lower sodium. I'm not in practice enough yet to really get other spices right. Connie is somewhat picky about other spices too, like she does not like cumin, paprika, and thyme among others. I am happy she likes Mrs. Dash.
Bill, sounds like great progress is being made with the yard. Pictures are nice (hint). I have been more limited in my yardwork because of the heat and humidity. Oppressive humidity expected for next couple of days.
Prayers continue for Joanne and Sam. Sam, how are you doing with your shoulder?
Have a great day!

Mornin' gents.
67 degrees this morning. After purchasing a window AC unit for my bedroom and installing it yesterday. It took a couple of hours because it was a tiny unit that should have fit the window I put it in, but the insulating panels were not wide enough, so I had to manufacture wood panels for both sides and then cover the manufactured panels with black gorilla duct tape (instead of painting) and then set them into the window frame. It was kind of a fun project. It saved me from yard work. I have faith that the heat will come again.
I saw photo of Bill's yard on FB. Beautiful job.
Fireworks started around 7 PM and they were not too bad. I did wake up to a barrage at midnight. Sorry about the anxiousness you experience with fireworks, Steve. Have you ever tried the noise cancelling head phones?
Mike, that is very sad about DSIL's dad. So sorry for the family's loss.
Sam, our thoughts are with you every day. Joanne's and your situation is pretty overwhelming, and some would say that which doesn't kill you will make you stronger, but how much stronger do you need to be?
Onward and downward.

Good morning gentlemen.
That's tough to deal with Steve. I hope there aren't too many residual fireworks tonight.
I had to trim back some rhubarb, yesterday, so I made a cobbler. It was a comedy or errors, with me not following recipe directions, but ended up being pretty good. I also spent a couple hours in the shop and finished a nice walnut bowl.

Good Morning,
All is quiet around here this morning, did not see a sole on Pablo's morning walk.
Fireworks last night did not faze Pablo
Baby back ribs were good till about 2 this morning when burps tasted like smoke.
Plenty around here needs doing but may just get clothes washed meals and kitchen cleaned.
Hope all have a Great Holiday weekend.

Oh Mike so sorry to hear about DSIL's father and his bout with blood cancer and treatment.
So sorry about your PTSD and anxiety with fireworks.
Steve On my DW's morning walk there were lots of fireworks residues. I think pretty much all illegal. We went to a minor league baseball game nearby and had a nice firework show after the game. They shot off a lot of stuff nearby us until 1 a.m.
Prayers for Joanne and Sam.
Stay safe everyone.

Good Morning
Mike, sorry to hear about your DSIL's father passing.
Coaxed enough life out of my old cordless drill to be able to put in the hooks on the rafters for the hanging plants we bought for the front and did some watering where the sprinklers don't go. Finishing that up this morning. I didn't go down to the crowds by the river. I was tired and my stomach was off after partaking of the grilled strip stages, onions & mushrooms. I will blame the salad. Fireworks don't happen till 10pm here. Pretty peaceful overall last night. Off to the hardware store to look at drills and then grab some groceries. I may end up heading toward Eugene tomorrow where selection is better and sales tend to occur. Lots of little projects today. I didn't sleep well due to the stomach and am not up for too much.
