Good morning!

Bill, I hope that you are feeling better today. Bill, go with a battery powered drill. I only use my electric drill less than once a year when I need a little extra boost of power.

Hot and humid here again. Not much will be going on outside. Yesterday, I did a little outside. If you don't move, it feels maybe a little OK. I immediately started sweating with a little work that was done. I looked when I got back in and the dew point was 75. The NWS considers it oppressive when the dew point hits 70.

Not much going on today. Today is Sunday rest day. I do have to stop by Walmart for Kitty Litter and a couple of other small items.

Have a great day!

    Good Morning,

Pablo has been out for morning walk, DW's bandages and packing changed.

I have two screws in one of my tires, DS went to put donut on, and it is also flat.

No plans for day, will try and stay in air conditioning

Guess I need to think about breakfast.

Two flat tires, gad zooks. Bad way to start the day.

Weather has been gorgeous here last few days. Cool mornings, high around 80, sunny and scattered clouds. Tragedy in Texas floods almost seems impossible; what a heart wrenching disaster.

I’ll be packing up and heading home after walking Rosie. She’s a good dog although whines until you rub her head, all day long.

    My piano project—

    Good morning gentlemen.

We'll be 83 and sunny here, too. Plan to go to church this morning and run a few errands in the afternoon. I might mow the lawn.

I finished another walnut bowl yesterday. As part of the process, I wet sand, using walnut oil. The dark residue gets under my fingernails and is hard to get out. My hands look like the old days, when I was fighting wildland fires. Wish those hands still had the same strength.

The batteries on battery-powered tools always fail eventually, and replacements cost as much as the tool. I like battery powered drills and drivers, but don't buy expensive ones. I've had good luck with a 12-volt Rigid set from Home Depot. Harbor Freight is another option. I have a corded drill I bought from Sears 45 years ago that runs as well as when it was new.

Love the photos, Mike, but have little idea what I am looking at. Captions?

    Good Morning

Double flat including the donut? Is the donut even repairable?

I am Eugene bound this morning. There is a Dewaltcordless drill on sale at Lowes that looks good. My old one is an old Craftsman. Last time I had to replace the battery it took some work to find one. A print of a St Brigid’s home blessing is ready to be picked up at Michael’s as well. Then it is home to do some yard work until the drill is charged. With Heather gone and Wimbledon on I have to avoid the temptation to veg out on the couch streaming replays. Most of my favorites are already out.

    Piano pics top to bottom:

    1. Piano laid on its back with bass strings detached to work on bridge. Tools ready to inject epoxy in cracks. Bridge has masking tape along the top.
    2. Bridge with epoxy injected between wood and bridge pins. The toothpicks were shaved flat on one side to act as wedges to hold the pins in proper position while the watery, slow curing epoxy sets.
    3. Upper part of piano showing slackened bass strings, which stay attached at the top but were detached at the bottom.
    4. The keys which I removed to lighten the piano’s 600# weight to tip it over more easily. I also removed the action which probably weighs another 50 lbs. I bleached the ivory keys with sunlight and peroxide while they were out because some were stained brown with age.
