    Good morning!

It looks like many of us have been busy outdoors hiking and camping. Awesome for you guys!

It continues very hot and humid here. We still won't see any rain until maybe Thursday night. We are in a full blown drought now.

I will do a little weed whacking early this morning finishing before 8:30. Otherwise, the plan is to get my weekly house cleaning chores done today, and start painting that bathroom door that I've been procrastinating on.

Prayers continue for Joanne. It is great to hear that she is on the road to healing.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Had a great hike yesterday. Started up a closed road for a few miles, then climbed through pretty forest, next to a glacial river, with towering cliffs across the canyon, finally up through beautiful meadows above timberline. A rugged climb with a fantastic payoff. Covered 16.1 miles, with 3,493 feet of climbing.

Back to the real world today. Have to get the lawn mowed before the 93-degree heat arrives.

    Mornin' gentlemen…

Awesome hike there, Dave. Is that Rainier? I think I heard there were earthquake tremors going on there? Looks like you had great weather.

More unpacking from the camping trip. Yesterday I crashed a bit, napping on and off every time I sat down. Making lists of things needed before next trip, which will probably be in late August.

My nuclear stress test is Thursday morning; no caffeine tomorrow. A bit nervous about it this time.

    Good Morning

Sam, I rejoice in Joanne’s news. It has been a rough post-surgery journey for you two. I give thanks and continue to pray for her full healing, your shoulder’s full recovery and a season of rest and recovery.

I am in Wimbledon withdrawl. I do love a good tennis match. Hopefully the high gusty winds will die down today as predicted. Around 3 days in it wears me down, like the high heat did back in California. We cancelled going out for a walk. It sure is amazing to watch and listen to the dancing trees. Not so amazing to be on OTC allergy medicine for the first time in my life. Heather and I walked around the yard yesterday to talk about what we might do with it now that it is clean and mulched. It is good to look forward especially sitting in our rockers in our little side yard which is shaping up. Today we have a few errands down in old town ending up at our little farmers market this afternoon. Seems appropriate to get a windsock or two and perhaps a whirl-a-gig.

Wow Dave that's great. My DS is getting ready to do the iconic Bailey Range traverse in the Olympic Mountains. sounds like quite the trek to me!!

Yup I mowed the big lawn yesterday and will do the smaller piece before it hits 90deg today and close to 100 degrees tomorrow.

Good to hear Joanne is doing better. An ordeal for sure.

Yea we had some gusty winds at times on the beach at Manzanita too but ok. It was a little dicey the last day on my bike.

We did see some magnificent Roosevelt ELK at the Oregon Coast one large Bull Elk with about 14 points in the antler rack I am guessing. He was with two female elk buddies at the time.

Nice to be home although it will probably hit 100deg tomorrow and low 90s today.

    Cheers.
