The second half of 2024 was no change. In the first half of 2025, it was a mix of on plan following WW, and a day or two per week that involved “car eating”. I seem to have gotten back under control in July, but my average daily weight is closer to 190 than my goal of 180. My gain is no longer a short term blip that will go away; it’s weight gain that is gonna take time and effort.

I have focused, and continue to do so, on a heart healthy approach more than a weight loss approach. Luckily, they seem to work hand-in-hand if done correctly.

I basically have been treading water for at least a year. Ranging 2-3 lbs one way or the other. However even before that for at least a couple of years and more doing the same thing. I get real breathy due to my heart and quads situation so walking and sweating is not an option at this point.

In my mind I'm constantly thinking and aware of the weight in currently carrying. I've got to concentrate on a lot less carbs and sweets as they seem to be the culprits.

My intention and plans are identical. Unfortunately, my execution has changed for the worse. I was in a really great spot a number of months ago, when I was sticking to my plan pretty well. Now I seem to have fallen into the valley of despair. I'm dramatizing, of course, but I am not following the critical part of my plan, and I now hover 10-15 pounds over my target weight (I assume—I am currently scaleless).

    Bleh.

Better since my last Cardiac Ablation in December, activity is up, and weight has started to come down, but I have been at a plateau for the last 2 months which is very frustrating, time for me to change something up in if I want to get back down to "fighting weight" but I have not committed to the change yet.

3 days without a cookie or piece of candy. Reworked breakfast to cut 10%. 20 minutes to snack time. Pacing the floor.

A good question! Looking back, my approach to weight management has not changed significantly in the past year. The only thing I've tried differently is time-restricted eating to a 10-hour window. Not much success with that for continued weight loss. I'm more aware of my health and mindful of how difficult it can be to maintain it. I bought an Oura ring a year ago, which helps in tracking sleep and activity. My blood pressure is creeping up toward elevated levels. Had lots of cardiac testing withing the past year, with know new problems other than atherosclerosis, which at this point is managed with medications.

Okay, I’ll open the can ‘o worms - any reason why you call it time restricted eating rather than intermittent fasting (other than how judgmental this group can be)?
