    Mornin' gents.

Both my interviews went well yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised with the VCA hospitals. My experience with VCA in CT has not been the best. I will interview at another hospital today and drop off my resume' at a couple of others.

M has a colonoscopy this am. Dropping her off at 6:30 Mountain time and hopefully she'll be done by 8 am.

Hearing aids started causing discomfort yesterday…very itchy. I had to take them out late morning. I seemed to be getting a bit of static off and on as well. I have a follow up with the audiologist at Sam's today. Hope he has a solution for both problems.

Great news about the low PSA, Bob.

We can only hope those 800 yr old trees will survive the fire, although I imagine a few will be lost.

Sam's DMIL is off the rails again. Hoo boy. My dad's widow is kinda the same way. She is 94 and will call and say she needs a favor or wants to give you something but to find out what it is, you need to go to her.

Tomorrow is DGS's 2nd birthday, but I will be flying home, so we'll have a small family celebration tonight for the birthday boy. Tomorrow they will have a kid's party that I will miss. Oh darn.

Had some pretty darn good BBQ yesterday in old Colorado Springs. It is rare that I get served more meat than I feel comfortable eating. Yesterday's BBQ experience was one of those times.

    Onward and downward ;-)

Rainy and actually chilly here, 57º, a huge swing from 101º nearby, three days ago.

Funeral yesterday for DSIL's father, Danny. I was okay through most of the service, till at the end the organist sang O Danny Boy… His wife is one of 11 children, so lot of support there I guess. The reception afterward was at a country club ballroom, where — with my tinnitus — the noise level from people talking was so loud I couldn't understand a conversation with anyone.

Lee, you mentioned the new hearing aids noticeably helped your tinnitus right away. I'd like to look into that more.

DS has bailed out on camping trip in N. Maine, now just me and DD. Not sure if we're going, but will try to get more to come along. We're in a group site and supposed to have more than 5 people.

    Good morning!

Dave, that is very sad about the fires. We are expecting poor air quality today from fires in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, Canada. I remember being in Oregon as a kid and seeing destruction from fires. They also had devastation from clear cutting back then. It seems like now, the fires are bigger, more often, and more destructive.

Bill, that is awesome news about your PT and health situation. 14 pounds is great! I pray that your progress continues and that you continue to feel better every day.

Lee, I'm glad that you had a couple of good interviews. Let's get you out there and get you to stop calling CT home. Home is now in Colorado.

I have a temporary crown now. I get the real one on the 19th. I have this taste in my mouth that I can't get rid of. I don't know if it is the glue from the temp crown or what. It is giving me a headache, and a bit of an upset stomach. I hope it fades soon.

Other than the forest fire smoke, we should have awesome weather today. Plans are to finally start painting the bathroom door. I have not painted it for several weeks because of the humidity. I also need to mow today, and hopefully weed whack if I have the energy.

    Have a great day!

    Good Morning,

    Tis Frydee!

Hospital called and cancelled DW's appointment because they heard breast was not healed, that means no appointments and nothing we have to do today.

    Safe travels Lee,

    Lower PSA's GREAT news.

Folks at personal care home says DMIL is behaving, and she will for about 4 days; I am convinced she knows what she is doing and just wants attention as does the ladies at the home.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Glad things are going well in Colorado.

There is nothing new under the sun when it comes to hearing aids. I am sure the audiologist will have some suggestions.

The Bear Gulch fire is now over 3,000 acres. Most of that is in the national park. Old growth Douglas fir has very thick bark that is fire resistant. The fire has taken runs through the crowns of the trees, though, and there is no coming back from that. Efforts are concentrated on protecting structures near the park entrance. There is no way to fight the fire in the terrain where it is burning, except to drop water on it from the air. This will burn until rain and snow hit it in the fall. Sigh.

    Good Morning

Lee, I am glad the visit to Colorado has gone so well. Enjoy your DGS birthday celebration tonight.

The fire situation seems to worsen as the years go by. The resiliency of the natural world in the aftermath has always amazed me. But the devastation in populated areas is heart breaking. Not much on the agenda today. I will go down and find some fresh fish for dinner tonight that doesn't require financing and pick up a bag of coffee beans. There is always garden stuff to do. I haven't done an actual walk in a week or so, and will try to entice DW to go with me around the hood. She prefers the beach which is still off limits for me but I gotta be getting close to being ready to walk the sand.

Indeed Lee have fun w DGS B-day. Sounds like some good job interviews by you too.

Gosh hoping for you to enjoy beach walks again soon Bill.

Yeah I had a co-worker that I had occasional tiffs with that would get on all our nerves. With a bit too much response on my part she would be all peaches and cream again for several weeks at least.

I just barely made weight at WW today to keep my no pay lifetime weight status.

    Cheers
