@donna25trinity you have some great habits outlined here! I like “be kind to yourself,” - so important. And how nice to come home to a dinner prepared by DH.

    • I fell off the tracking wagon. I walked over the weekend, had veggies daily and my water intake was spotty. The weights are hanging out in the living room wondering what’s up and the tracker is being neglected. Tomorrow I’m on vacation again and more than ready. At least I’m focused on something 😂

I have had a stressful week. Seems like Monday, everything went wrong that could go wrong. Tuesday I corrected everything that went wrong on Monday. Wednesday I did Wednesdays obligations so now I need to find time to get caught up from the craziness of Monday & Tuesday. Luckily I was on top of things to caught the mistakes before they could make major problems. I could tell it was a full moon. Everyone seemed to make major mistakes. Good news is it was all in one day. Lol.

and here we are. @77tes I honestly believe in connections and yesterday and the day before even not knowing of your loss my heart was heavy all day. Perhaps it was just all the news but I like to think that sometimes the vibe in the universe gives us sympathetic reactions.

And importantly even with this sadness. 11 days of walking done. Well one was actually tennis after work. Keep going! there is no way but thru.

@SummerSkier I appreciate your hopeful comments. Good job on 11 days of a walking.

Quick habit update: Over the last week I’ve had increasing hand pain and now my weak right thumb is a problem — the arthritis joint flare up was so bothersome I went to our Ortho walk in clinic yesterday for an updated X-ray. Started a nighttime med and using a hand splint for 5-10 days. That means my well intentioned whole body yoga paused yesterday, but I will look into other ‘handless’ practices including mindful stretching which luckily there are many.
    Stay well and strong. 🙏

@Michieb125 So sorry to hear about your thumb. Try chair yoga. That way you are following your yoga practice, just with a slight modification. Keep us updated.

@KacyCarpe Welcome to the group. That is a great small habit. It is so much easier to work on one habit. This is something that I struggle with. I always find by the end of the month, I have started adding other habits in which take away from my main focus. I have just recently started trying to add more protein. (Struggling with balance of all macros). Keep us posted how it is going.

I am a person who values the health and fitness of mind, body, and spirit.

    September Focus: Meditation.
I normally do a short meditation before I get out of bed in the morning. In September I am meditating first thing with DH. His yoga teacher is doing an early morning online group meditation Monday to Friday, and has extended the invitation to family members. We are joining her 4 mornings a week, as we go out early on Wed morning to do our weekly grocery shopping. I have reset my morning alarm so that I can join DH.

Habit: Morning meditation with DH 4 x a week.
    Cue: Phone Alarm.
⏰ Get up, get ready and join DH
Reward: I meet the day in a calm frame of mind.
Celebration: Early morning chat with DH + He Man salute. ⚔️ I HAVE THE POWER ⚔️

DH and I have meditated every day so far this month. Such a relaxing way to start the day!

Loving all the beautiful flowers being posted. This is one of our yuccas which has put up this magnificent flower spike this year. We planted it about Six years ago.

    IMG_0367.jpeg

It’s about 8 feet tall, and is right at the gate of our property. The tree beside it is a bay tree.

    @77tes

🙏 🙏 🙏 and 🤗 🤗 🤗 for you and your family as you navigate the days ahead, my dear girl 🥰 Having her at home and caring for her was a bittersweet gift for you both.

I hope the knowledge that she is at peace and no longer in pain brings you solace.

@Michieb125 I agree that the chair yoga would be a good option. I use YouTube to find practices.

@KacyCarpe Welcome to the group. Focusing on one habit at a time works for me.

that Yucca is beautiful Terri! And how you got the text to fit beside it is great!. Ours are not pink like that usually just white.

Well I am joining the ranks of Covid folks this week. I may not run but I might do some walks if I feel ok. No fever just stuffy head and slighty sore ish upper throat which was why I tested yesterday evening. Of course my HR now is elevated and fitbit thinks I have already worked out for 20 minutes. 😏😳🤷‍♀️ Fingers crossed that I did not expose my lash lady yesterday morning as I had no symptoms and went running and my HR was normal.

Thanks for the tip about chair yoga @Learningmoments — you reminded me this is still an excellent way to stretch and relax.

@SummerSkier I hope you feel better very soon!

Although it must be so difficult at times, I’m glad to hear you can still prioritize your healthy habits @77tes.

Wow, such a gorgeous flowering Yucca @TerriRichardson112.

I also enjoy gardening and will post a few photos this week.

I am an ACTIVE person ~ moving and eating for longevity!

New habit: Yoga 30 mins a day in September (started on 8/31). Stacking habit: walking for exercise 3 times a week to daily walks - 3-4 miles minimum.

    September 2 - 🚶‍♀️ 🧘‍♀️ 🍱 📖 🛌

September 3 - 🧘‍♀️ 🍱 📖 🛌 no walk; doctor appointment, chiropractor and therapeutic massage today

    September 4 - 🚶‍♀️ 🧘‍♀️ 🥘 📖

    September 5 - 🚶‍♀️ 🧘‍♀️ 🥘 🛌 good sleep, close to 9 hours

    September 6 - 🚶‍♀️ 🧘‍♀️ 🥘 📖 🛌

    September 7: 🧘‍♂️ 🍱 📖 🛌 - body suggested a recovery day

    September 8: 🧘‍♀️ 🍚 📖 🛌 - back to my long walk

    September 9: 🚶‍♀️🥗 📖 🛌- break from painful hand

    September 10: 🚶‍♀️🥗 📖 🛌

    September 11: 🚶‍♀️🥗 📖 🛌 x Ray; wrist brace while healing

September 12: day trip to see elderly mother and help; gone 9 hrs so no exercise

    September 13: 🚶‍♀️🥗 📖 🛌

    September 14: 🚶‍♀️ 🙆‍♀️ 🥗 📖 🛌

Almost half way thru the month! am feeling benefits of the increased physical activity like I hoped.

I’m getting through the new book Unbreakable and do recommend for a good read about women’s health and longevity. I purchased the book but I’m finding it personally a little redundant on how we need to eat right, exercise (aerobics and strength train) and get good sleep. There’s a lot of good info on menopause of which I am passed and didn’t have a huge problem with. I know a couple of you are thinking of borrowing it from your library - hope you enjoy it! A great author who has a lot of science based research statistics and insights to offer!

@SummerSkier Oh no! Get well soon.

@snowshoe072 Glad you could stop by. Hope all is well.

@77tes You are a wonderful mentor to us. I am so proud of you. Our prayers are with you as you adjust back to your life.

@Michieb125 That is great that you can tell a difference with your activities. You are doing great!

@takinitalloff I am proud of you for going out with friends. You needed that with the stress of family being in the hospital. You had a slip up, but you jumped back into systems again. You are doing wonderful!

Well I missed a day of walking in the afternoon and I might miss a few more depending on how this illness progresses but I think the Paxlovid altho it tastes awful for hours after taking it is working. My HR which was SO elevated the first 2 days was almost back to normal (maybe the virus is getting whacked by the meds!) and I did not have a fever this morning. My head is still stuffy like a head cold so I am not counting anything out and I have heard this virus likes to cycle good and bad and fool you in to thinking you are done and then come back so I am not going to push anything for the rest of the month.

I did walk yesterday evening! So only missed one day so far this month.
