Ugh, was doing good a few days ago, so this is hopefully just water weight.

@lauren_989 I hate when your weight is doing good and then you have a little blip for weigh in day.
Today was a good day. Checked off all the boxes and hit my nutrition and exercise goals for the day. Fingers crossed for a good weigh in tomorrow.

Back in Feb I had a scan, and there was a spot on my lung (they weren't even looking at my lungs), well I went to a pulmonologist and he was like no big deal. We will rescan in 6 months, well I just had the scan on monday, it hasn't changed, which in lung stuff is good, and it even said recommend rescanning in 1 year. BUT when I looked up the term the tech used, it made it seem really bad, so of course, I freaked out, and got super worried, stressed, anxious, etc… Well I finally talked to my pulmonologist yesterday, even though my appt isn't till next week, and he explained that the term he used doesn't mean what I think it means, and to not stress, because it is a finding that is common on lots of people, and now they can keep an eye on it, and if I quit smoking it would probably go away. So, I guess I am quitting smoking for real this time. I can't take that again…
Then I had my mammogram and got a call back for that, so I had to do that on Monday too. But it's all fine too. I usually get a call back on those every other year, so I wasn't as worried, but it didn't help.
Getting old is stressful !

That would be stressful @Gidgitgoescrzy ! It's great your doctor was able to put your mind at ease. I've also experienced panic after Googling medical stuff before, I know better than to trust "Dr. Google" but it doesn't stop me from doing it 🙃
Great job checking off the boxes @conleywoods !
@lauren_989 oh that is so frustrating, I'm sure it is water weight. I've noticed if I weigh in the day after a heavy workout my weight is up, yay DOMS. And thanks for the comment on the lowering carbs, I'm reminding myself to take it day by day and that feeling a little hungry won't kill me.
I feel really good about the last 2 days, I've been a lot better with having a moderate - low level of carbs and I've gone for walks the last 2 days. Yesterday I only had time for a couple of short 10 minute walks and still didn't meet my step goal but I'm glad I at least got out for a little while.
I think I would like to lower my step goal to 6000 for a bit, it's been a while since I've been able to consistently reach 7000 and I find myself giving up. On my days off it's usually feasible but the days I work I usually spend so much time sitting unfortunately.
Alright I'm off to have another good day, I hope you all make it a great day too 😄

@Gidgitgoescrzy That sounds super stressful!!! It's definitely hard when you get a result or hear medical staff say something and Google makes it sound so scary. Especially when you haven't had a conversation with your doctor. I'm glad you called instead of waiting for your appointment a week later. Quitting smoking will give you huge benefits.

Yay! Back on track. It felt like it took forever to get going again. I have 10 days left I my challenge and I want to end strong. My goal was to loose 4 lbs of body fat during my challenge. I've lost faster this time around and lost 7.1 lbs of body fat. The extra will be helpful because the weigh out day is right when my TOM is. The extra water weight tends to skew the scale a little.

I would like to say this was well earned, but it wasn't. I have had gastrointestinal issues since Sunday morning. With those issues, I've barely been eating. The more I eat, the more time I spend in the bathroom. I'm choosing not to worry about it unless it lasts over a week, or I get worsening symptoms.

Whoaaaa …. I'm sorry for missing last week, Teamies! I got home from a lovely week+ away, and boom, all my energy was zapped. Like really drained. Having a hard time plugging back into MFP, but making a concerted effort the last two days. Not caught up on the thread, but I'll try to do that tomorrow or Saturday. (Thank goodness my scale reckoning upon returning home was not a disaster!)
Weird week here. Other than just slowly feeling my energy returning, we received a Raw Generation juice & smoothie subscription on Saturday, that I'd lost track of. No room in the freezer, so hubby and I are currently on Day 6 of a completely unplanned mostly liquid juice & smoothie diet week :p. Super weird, bc my calories have been way, WAY over every day of this freggie cleanse, but I've not gained weight. And I'm talking like, up to 1000 cals over some of the days! I do not understand …. 🤷♀️

Crazy, busy day at work today. So glad to be home. I ended up taking an hour nap, so I hope I can sleep later.
@MaddawgMadsen I hope your stomach feels better!
@Gidgitgoescrzy wow that's stressful! Glad the dr messaged you back so you don't have to worry.

@MaddawgMadsen get well soon!
@mkksemail welcome back 😊 how interesting that your calories are up but weight is down. I'm sure there's science to explain it, it does seem like liquid would burn off easier than solid foods...?
@lauren_989 I hope you were able to sleep well, naps are glorious while they're happening but can really mess with sleep schedules. It's usually still worth it though 😆
Nice weigh in @conleywoods !
Today was mostly good, I did have a fast food cheeseburger and a few fries for lunch 🫣 I watched my portion size though and was relatively active today. I ordered my CGM and it should be delivered next week. I'm really excited to see what I can learn from it, and thankful that this technology is available.

Wow…super stressful weekend that hasn't gone as planned. My hubby and I had an intervention with one of his friends on Friday evening. It sucks when they don't want to be helped. He is definitely depressed and basically giving up on everything. He states he just wants to work, come home (well to a new home as his is being foreclosed upon) and play video games. I have offered to set him up for appointments at my office and recommend he get therapy, however he doesn't want to. @jguldi11 how do you help someone who doesn't want help? 🤔

CW 217.9 yay green!
I was busy today exercising my 1st Amendment Rights and got 9,500+ steps.@gigitgoescrzy Your kitchen looks amazing! Love it. Especially the chevron top. Love the wood. Getting older is definitely not for the faint of heart. Glad everything is fine and being monitored. I, too, have a let’s wait and see gyn issue unless there are changes.
It was a super busy week at school. Time just gets away from me. Then, we had to get a new dryer. The tricky part is our stairs to the basement are really narrow because our house is 100 years old so we had to get a brand that they can take apart and reassemble downstairs. Speed Queens are made to do that but are pricey.
It gets delivered on Wednesday.
One change I can make is check in here more often like everyday. Also need to get back to consistent logging.5 -
@ashleycarole86 I brought my step goal down to 6000 for now.

Sorry I'm late again.
Feeling much better thank goodness. Still anaemic but I'm taking 3 Spatone sachets a day which seems to help.
@jguldi11 I've been wearing a CGM for a year now since my surprise T1 diagnosis and they are amazing! Aside from the fact that I no longer need to fingerprint, you gain so much useful information about yourself that no Dr can possibly tell you. Good luck with it.

@lauren_989 that is so tough, it's really hard to motivate someone to change if they don't think they need to change anything.
As a friend I would offer support by reminding the person I'm willing to help, and model healthy behavior. It can also be helpful to invite him to get out of the house, even if he says no, try another time. With depression comes a desire to isolate, which often makes depression worse.
Some of the best ways to counter depression are physical activity, getting out of the house, eating a balanced diet, and doing something kind for others (even in small ways like opening a door for someone or complimenting them). If therapy or talking to a doctor are too intimidating for now, then maybe a self-help book or online support group would be a better starting place.

@lauren_989 - What a beautiful family! Those are fantastic pictures!
I am finally able to eat without immediately regretting it. I think my stomach shrunk a little, because I am really not that hungry and am getting full quickly. I know with dieting, this is one of the goals, but right now, I am struggling to make sure I eat enough to keep up with all of my activities.
I know those who have been part of this group since I joined have heard about my work woes in the past. A little catch up for those who are newer: In March, I asked my bosses (who live in Germany) for a raise. The basis of the raise is that I am an officer of the company, yet my wage was most comparable to our middle management, not that of the other officer of the company. In Colorado, we have an Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, so based on this law, my education, experience, and position would dictate that my wage would be close to that of the other officer. My bosses took some time, but said they had an offer for me when they visited in July.
The offer wasn't so much of an offer, but an expectation. I am now expected to add sales to my already full plate and with the sales I should start earning commission, and therefore more money. So, instead of getting a raise that I deserve, I get more work and the possibility of earning more money if I am good at sales. Also, since July, our top earning manager got a raise that puts him earning almost exactly what I earn.
Tending bar is still fun. These issues with my other job almost make me want to quit and go full time as a bartender. Almost.
On top of all of this, my husband ended up in some trouble with his work. He made a dumb comment on social media while exhausted. The tone behind it was sarcastic; definitely not malicious. However, it was taken the wrong way and led to a very long review and punishment process at his work. Two months after the post (which he removed within hours of publishing, and then deleted his Facebook), he finally got his punishment - a one week suspension without pay the first week of December, and a demotion.
So… I've been dealing with a lot of stuff which is why I haven't been on here as much.
