    Team:

I will do my best to watch out for any special requests, needs, posts this week, but we're down to just me this week and you know my wacky schedule. Please be patient and tag me if you need me to see something specifically. Thanks!

@frankwbrown Enjoy your trip and on that highway stretch, I can see you playing lots of the license plate or alphabet game with the road signs and billboards. Be safe!

Have a great and fun challenge this week…would love to see some of you pop in and participate…Spooky fun! 🎃 🧛‍♀️ 👻

@frankwbrown enjoy your trip & time with family.I had a weekend in London with my friend Christine.I ticked something off my bucket list & went to the Royal Opera House to see the dancers of the Royal Ballet perform. It was expensive for the ticket but well worth it.I thought of my dear Mum as she visited a few times. My sisters & I inherited her love of dance & ballet. It was an emotional experience. We also walked alot around London & climbed the 323 steps up & down again of the Monument Tower which marks the spot of the the start of the Great Fire of London in 1666.

Hello Shape Shifters. It was another boring walk on the pad while watching a cool hiking video. I couldn't be bothered to do much, so only 45 minutes today. Lots of rain and wind still, somehow I made it dry to and from the gym. I had the place to myself again which usually happens on Sunday and my workout went really well, but I did experience something creepy! Just after getting changed and putting on my coat to leave, one of the showers randomly turned on. I peeked around the corner, but obviously nobody was there. I quickly left after that, lol. Fitting since it is almost Halloween I guess. Not much else going on besides the usual; cuddling Tinus and gaming. Good night everyone 💜

Hello Shape Shifters. I had a nice day with Tinus and decided to have a lazy morning for a change instead of starting with a walk. I got some groceries in the hour window it was actually dry out. Picked up two boxes of my favourite cookies because they were on sale; one for treat day on Wednesday and I will save the other one for when my mom visits in the middle of November. I did some cleaning and some laundry. Walked on the pad in the afternoon to music. For some reason the time went a lot faster with music compared to watching a video. So maybe I need to make some more playlists so I don't get bored of the same one, but I also hope I can just walk outside again soon. I recently got new bird food, so there have been a lot of visitors. I tried to take some pictures but the birds didn't really feel like posing in good spots. Good night everyone 💜

Good morning! Since we have so many walkers in our group, I thought many of you would find this article of interest: “Which is better: one long walk or many short walks.”

Thanks for sharing the interesting article, @nancyinmiami. My sister also told me about some research on step counts that said the optimal step count for walking is around 7,000 steps per day for maximum health benefits. That article also mentioned the Japanese pedometer advertisement promoting 10,000 steps per day. The study found that more steps are beneficial, but the gains level off after 7,000 steps for most outcomes like reducing the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, and early death. For those with fewer steps, each additional 1,000-step increment is associated with significant benefits. I need to walk more the next few days to get rid of the lingering muscle cramps in my legs after the marathon. Happy walking everyone! 🚶🚶‍♂️

@Zaxa2021 — Congratulations on breaking through your wall of depression to complete the half marathon and way to go on meeting your finish time goal! — Great work!! 👍🏼

@Pupowl — Thanks for helping with the group management. I appreciate you, @jessicakrall8, @frankwbrown, @nancyinmiami, and @LaurieWrobo for keeping the Shape Shifters team running so smoothly! I hope you enjoy your trip @frankwbrown. Have fun with your siblings!

Thanks to everyone who shared photos, cartoons, and updates!

@p8m6bwghh9 — I’ve been cold in San Diego these past couple of days so I can’t imagine waking up to snow so early in the season. I grew up in Boston so I remember trying to figure out Halloween costumes when it was cold enough for our winter coats 🥶.

I like a good snowfall and, oddly, I enjoy shoveling, but I get tired of the cold weather when it lingers late into the Spring season. I think I miss the sunlight most of all so I mourn the end of Fall. As long as I dress for it (which is my problem while visiting San Diego — I didn’t pack well enough), I don’t mind the cold too much, but I have much more energy on light-filled days.

Hello Shape Shifters. Another indoor walk, BUT it looks like tomorrow is finally dry. Can't wait to walk in the forest again. I went to the gym before lunch for my strength workout; it went alright. My left leg was really painful during the single leg deadlift for some reason so that was a little annoying. Still got everything done. I got a package delivered with my bags of meal shake powder which is nice so no more cooking! I got a free jar with 30 servings of pre workout stuff with my order. I don't use that and I am pretty sensitive to caffeine so not going to try either. I will give it to one of the trainers at the gym. Maybe one of them will be happy to use it. Good night everyone 💜

@Pupowl Thank you so much for pitching in on the updates…I'm just coming straight home from work and checking in on this and the group challenge first thing before I start my evening routine around the house. I appreciate your help. Before I saw your note, I thought, "is Frank working on vacation or what?" LOL Glad you let me know.
