Hi 👋
I didn't get much of anything accomplished yesterday. Hubby and I were out all all day looking at motorhomes. We are looking to downsize because the 5th wheel is just way to big for the two of us and Chipper. We may have something, but I'm not going into detail because it's not a for sure thing yet.
I'm hoping to get out with Chipper today, for a short walk and starting repotting my corn plant and setting up the grow lights I bought for it.
DISCUSSION QUESTION: Do you prefer working out alone, with a buddy, or in a group setting — and why?
I used to go to zumba and kickboxing classes., and I loved them. It was fun to go to class and workout with "like-minded" people. I used to jog, which I preferred to do by myself because I listened to music and I liked getting into my "zone". These days, working out is hard because of my feet and knee. Also, I have to stick with low impact exercise, so I just prefer to exercise alone, when I actually do a "workout".

CW: 138.8Just got home from a Bike Ride, it's the perfect weather here for it. It was awesome. On my Game they have Antique shopping a few times a year. It started at 5:30 and they drop items to buy every 5 minutes, but I have to be fast because it sells out in a few seconds. This year was a 3-day event, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I planned my entire day around it.
I woke up sick on Sunday morning with shivers and hurting all over, it only lasted a couple of days. It could have been worse. I missed a couple of drops because my head was all fuzzy feeling, but I managed to trade for what I didn't get so it was a good day. I had a lot of fun, it's stressful but fun stressful.
I still need to finish my contest room.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: Do you prefer working out alone, with a buddy, or in a group setting — and why? I prefer to workout alone. I used to belong to a gym, but once I bought this home and moved out of the apartment, I quickly purchased some exercise equipment and began doing my workouts at home. I really don't even like a workout that involves a video. I like to go at my own pace. My pace is slow and deliberate for strength training, and my cardio workouts are HIIT using a stopwatch to time the intervals. Now that Rich is living here with me, I realize just how much I prefer to have the house to myself for working out. I don't like being watched/judged, and I loathe being interrupted.

I successfully did not eat after dinner last night!
I prefer working out in a group setting and I haven't been in a group in years 😭I want to either sign up for Karate or join some sort of recreational sport

@trooworld I’m glad the gallery visit went well and you were able to talk to her. Good idea to enter a few shows before joining that gives you a chance to see how it goes. I always want to go hang out at coffee shops with you after reading your posts! I can’t stand people like that at the gym! Go right before him and DON’T wipe up your sweat! Way to go on only having 1.5 slices of pizza that’s some great self-control you’ve developed!

@TeresaW2024 I’m so glad the service went well and so many came to celebrate Joe. I know you did a wonderful job and I’m so glad you have such supportive friends, family, and church. I’m not surprised so many came you’re both such beautiful people (feel like I know him after going on 7 years in this group with you). His urn is beautiful and the flower arrangement is gorgeous, he has great taste in flowers!
@DrewsAnna I love you’re doing your goals similar to @AustinRuadhain , I’m tempted to try that too! I’d love to see how you’re setting up your grow lights I just have my monstera near a window that gets indirect light. Good luck learning the sewing machine!
@bobboyardee You’re doing great don’t sweat a small slip! Thinking of you not snacking at night is helping me not snack too. You should sign up for the recreational sport!
DO YOU PREFER WORKING OUT ALONE, WITH A BUDDY, OR IN A GROUP SETTING AND WHY? I’m not super competitive with others and mostly prefer being alone for weights and cardio. If I’m walking or hiking I like to be with others and enjoy group workout classes. When I was working out two hours a day (when my CRPS was in remission) I’d go with my uncle to the gym on vacation and we’d do a class then I’d do a bit more cardio, weights, and stretching by myself. Seriously think rocking out and sweating is so good for my mental health and facing each day with a stronger attitude.
@19shmoo69 I love your goal of running a marathon! My goal’s only changed as far as being in remission wanting to be stronger and lift a certain amount to wanting to keep my mobility as long as I can. I love how running has inspired you!
@FushiaKat Glad you enjoyed your bike ride! The weather here is beautiful today too. Glad you beat being sick in a few days. How is your contest room going? Looking forward to seeing it!
Hi friends! Not much to report, lost a pound so far and doing good staying on track. I’m trying to get my yard done and got all the seedlings in I started but have a lot of cleanup left, I currently have lemongrass drying in the oven and more herbs waiting to be harvested. Having a slow, mellow week and am working on getting my three kittens adopted soon. Not much else to report, take care everyone!

Hi all. One more thing about the discussion question about working out alone vs roup vs with a partner: I do like the accountability that working out with someone provides...even though I workout alone, I still get the accountability at my gym because if I don't show up on one of my usual days, the guy at the counter says, "I didn't see you yesterday. Where were you?" or something like that. I feel accountable to HIM lol. Work was busy again yesterday. I've been wearing my Halloween jewelry, which everyone has been enjoying. Yesterday, I wore a huge black crystal spider brooch with hanging black crystal spider earrings. Today, I will wear something else. Today is like my Thursday as I am off on Friday...my BFF is coming from out of state to hang out for Halloween. I had leftover protein spaghetti for dinner.

@Katmary71 You are so very sweet! People always talk so badly about the internet and social media, and it certainly can be terrible, but it also can be great! I met Joe online, and on MFP, I’ve truly met some great friends. 🙂 So, have you kept any kittens yet? I know you were considering that one little baby. 😍
@trooworld It is currently windy, rainy, and 46 degrees!! My heat has been on for a week now! God forgot to give us our Autumn and needs to bring it back!!! 🙄 HaHa, I love that you are now accountable to some random gym guy. That is awesome! 😀
Good morning! My happy news for the day is that the giant tree that was between me and my neighbor is now gone!! It took four guys less than three hours to grind that big nuisance down, and now I will have no tiny leaves all over my yard for the next several months. It was the neighbor's tree, but I had told him that I would split the cost because I hated it that much. 😣 I’ve decided that I’m going to change our church accounting software and have finally landed on the one I want. Now the fun begins in figuring out how to move all our stuff over to it. I want it done before the new year so that it will consume most of my time for the next couple of months. It will be good for me to have a project. 🙂1 -

@TeresaW2024 Wow ! It was hot here, in the 80s-90s. He forgot to give us our Autumn, too, he's stuck on Summer here lol. That's great that tree is gone. OH man, I hope the move of software goes well. That sounds like it will be complicated. Good luck!

Hi all. Today is like my Friday as I am off tomorrow. I have a lot to do today at home to get ready for my friend's visit (she's arriving tomorrow morning), and hopefully I can get it all done. I also have to enter a piece in an art show. I don't think it will be accepted, but you never know. We had to take Daisy, our oldest pug, to the vet yesterday: she's been having a hard time walking...her hind legs have been dragging a bit. They did an X-ray and she has IVDD, which is a problem with her spine and the cushioning between vertebrae. She is now on a once-a-month shot for that; hopefully, it helps. Otherwise, it may be surgery. We stopped and picked up Panda Express for dinner. I got a combo with string bean chicken, eggplant tofu, and half fried rice, half super greens. I have leftovers for 2 more meals. It was really hot here yesterday: 90F at 5 pm!

I was up in the night; insomnia again. I was doing really well for a while, but this week has been difficult for sleep. Earl is not pleased about it, as I always disturb him when I'm up in the night.
This morning Rich says "Too bad you don't have today off; we could go out for breakfast." Well, no problem, I knew I had nothing pressing going on this morning, so I just decided to come in to work a bit later. We went out to breakfast, and then we took a walk. I still got to work at 8:30am.

@Katmary71 my beautiful monstera is quite a bit smaller now, but it's coming back nicely. I have I think 8 starts from this plant that have nice root balls now. I haven't decided if I'm going to plant them back in with the mother plant or put them all in their own pot.
Lol… all of these baby leaves were all trying to touch the window. The grow lights have them starting to stand tall instead of leaning all the way over.

Yesterday was a super busy day. I worked outside about half the day. I weeded almost all of one of my gardens. Today, I want to get some spring bulbs planted and I have a couple pots of summer bulbs I'm going to plant in the garden. I'm hoping hubby will dig a hole for my crepe myrtle because our rainy season is definitely here. Tomorrow is going to be a nasty , rainy day.

Hi all. There was a lot of excitement at work: staff and students getting ready for Halloween, the students have a big project, I'm getting ready for my friend. The day went by quickly (thankfully!). I have to get the car washed this morning before I get my friend, the interior is covered in dog hair lol, and the outside (since it is white) shows so much dirt. I'm not sure what we will do once she arrives, probably go to breakfast. I'm sure it will be a fun day. I lost 0.2 lbs this week, I am not surprised: I had pizza earlier in the week, and then Panda Express yesterday for lunch and Wednesday for dinner. Hopefully, next week will be a nice loss!

Happy Halloween! 👻 Well, after two days of doing nothing but researching church accounting software, I’ve decided to stick to the one I have. The one I wanted would be great for many church management tasks, but not for payroll or other complex functions, such as monthly taxes. The program I have is complicated and dated, but I know it well enough to do my job. The next admin can switch, but I’m staying put! Plus, I have other, more important things to do, like start going through my niece's Christmas stuff. I’m giving her my big tree and most of the ornaments. I ordered a slim tree for my dining room, which will work better and let me keep the living room furniture where it is. I’m not really wanting to decorate for Christmas, but I will. Joe would be disappointed in me if I didn’t at least try to enjoy my favorite holiday. 😕
