HOW IT ALL WORKS: The October challenge runs for five weeks, from September 28th - November 1st.

Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!

We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leader board. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce or re-introduce yourselves right away, and let's get October on the road! 😎

    Hi 👋

I'm Anna, I am a married housewife to my hubby of 14 yrs, (21 living together yrs) and we have 1 dog and 6 feral cats, atleast I think there is still 6. I don't really know, but I see them all over the place. I have 4 adult kids & 1 bonus adult kids, they have given me 11 grandkids. Their ages range from 20-4. Holidays are loud, crazy and chaotic, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have been on Wegovy since November and I have lost about 15 lbs. Im on 1.0, my health coach was going to increase it to 1.7, but I don't feel like I'm ready, so I declined for the time being. I would've lost more, but I'm a very stubborn person and I am not much into veggies.

I am going to put my habits that I need to work on in the habit tracker and post them here. They will be reasonable and challenging for me.

Today, I'm going to somewhat relax, which means laundry and football.

    Y'all have a great day 😀

just some more info about me. I had a liver transplant Dec 16 2024. Afterward I had a slow recovery. I got a herina about 20 cm long. So I had to have abdominal wall reconstruction surgery. Afterward I had very low blood pressure and ended up in ICU for 3 days but all is going well now and I am on the road to recovery. thanks for asking. Sometimes I forget to post things

    Hi Mission Slimpossibles!

My name is Nancy and I am one of the Motivators on the Shape Shifters team! I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself.

I am a native New Yorker who is now retired and living in Miami, Florida. I worked in human resources for many years, but switched careers mid-life to become a high school English teacher. I've lost 100 pounds since starting my journey, and have been able to help keep it off by living a more active lifestyle here in sunny Florida. I am addicted to Zumba, pickleball, tennis, and I teach aqua aerobics as well. I live with my husband, and our 23-year old daughter lives about an hour away in Boca Raton. We enjoy traveling, reading, and concerts (I took my daughter to Lady Gaga earlier this month, and I'm taking my husband to Vegas to see Duran Duran for New Year's). It's never boring lol.

Did you know that our Fat 2 Fit group has a book club? You can find the Page Turners & Portion Burners Book Club page under "Announcements." We read a different genre each month, and then we vote on the next month's selection from titles that are suggested by book club members. For October, we are reading a historical fiction novel, The First Witch of Boston by Andrea Catalano. And, we are also having a GIVEAWAY for our October read! Head on over to our page and check us out! We are a relaxed, fun group😊 Hope you'll be joining us!

    Hi,
My name is Valeta. I am 51 years old and live in a small rural town in Northwest Indiana. I live with my husband and our King Charles spaniel named Benny. I recently changed my strategy from maintaining my weight to losing again. I have roughly 10 pounds that I would like to lose then return to maintaining between 120 lbs. and 125 lbs. I enjoy listening to music, reading books and spending time with my 17 month old grandson.

    Veta2018Sunday, September 28

    SW(Starting Weight): 180 lbs.

    PW(Previous Weight): 134.8 lbs.

    CW(Current Weight): 129.4 lbs.

I was maintaining my weight at 1,500 daily calories. I lowered it to 1,200 and I see a big difference. I also have been watching my sodium. So it might be a lot of water loss too. And, I have been doing a workout 33 mornings in the past 35 days.

@Cornanda I get the worry thing . I am so grateful that the last few years I have been able to let go of that (mostly).  I think we will all miss the sleepovers, just moving into a different stage now, I am so lucky to have them so close :-). I remember living in a house like your son is moving into when I was either in my late teens or early 20s. That was back in the days when you had to replace fuses on the electric panel lol. I also remember that the water used to freeze up when it got too cold so we had no running water. Those are all part of our life stories lol. It is crazy that Christmas stuff is out in Home Depot, I know it is all over Costco!

@trooworld 9000 recipes !!!! That is crazy lol! I think I might spend two hours before each meal trying to go through and figure out what to eat.  I remember I had one Covid booster that bothered me, luckily the others did not. I just have this week left of overlapping Agility classes. I have to take advantage while I can of our long days. I am not good at driving at night and during the winter it gets dark here really early so my agility classes will be curtailed in a big way.  Just some little Christmas needle work projects for my kids is what I'm working on. I started it last Christmas and never got them finished lol! Thanks for the name of the author and the site, I will definitely check it out.  What an amazing way to start your birthday, with a Mani Pedi, pure heaven!  So hard not to over eat when the food is so delicious, I'm sorry you got so sick from it.  I love chili, I always have some meal prepped in my freezer, but I'm like you, I do not have a recipe for it and I'm sure I make it different every single time. Sounds like you have a busy day in front of you.

@micaroo4 love your picture ! The pictures of Rich and Earl of course are great as well :-).

I was going to get some meal prep done right after lunch today and got things on the go. When I pulled the ground meat out of my fridge, it looked not quite right and I realized it was out of date by two days, dang!! My dogs and I had a busy morning so we are all going to have a nap And then I will go get some more ground meat lol. I am trying to get some more comfort food in my freezer now that the cold weather is coming around. The dogs and I went out for a good run(they ran, I threw a frisbee) and then we ran over to my son and daughter-in-law's place. I am making some agility jumps for practice. Normally to buy Agility jumps, for a set as well over $200. I was able to find some instructions on Pinterest! I can make four sets, for the price of one! My son is going to cut up all the PVC and lattice for me and then I will just paint everything and assemble it, I will attach a picture :-).

Hope everybody is having a great Sunday!

    Hi All!

My name is Missy and I’m the motivator for Team Slimsons! I live with my 4 doggies (forever fur kids), work as a payroll accountant and currently in the last stretch of my MBA program 3.5 classes left-so looking forward to end of June! I’ve struggled with weight since I was 9/10 years old. Lost and gained, up and down like a rollercoaster. I’m currently at weight watchers again, I struggle with staying within points but seem to stay around 1500 to 2500 calories a day. Their new app this year doesn’t track just points they track macros too so no double logging.
I love to go to Zumba and water aerobics classes, just got back into golf and starting to take spin classes with a friend. also starting to draw and paint again when I find time.

looking forward to a wonderful October with you all!

    Thanks micaroo4 😊

    My introduction

I’m Ali, 39 from the south wales valleys in the uk. I live with my husband, my youngest son, his girlfriend and our almost 3 week old grandson with our 13 year old border collie, so it’s always busy in our house lol

I work as a sales manager full time and enjoy getting away on adventures as often as possible when we aren’t working!

Having a grandson has definitely re ignited my focus on weightloss, I definitely don’t want to be a ‘fat nana’ and want to be able to keep up with him when he starts causing chaos lol

I don’t comment much as life’s pretty hectic, but love reading people’s updates and find the weekly check in deffo keeps me accountable!

    Hi, I'm Lisa

I live in Florida with my DH of 33 years and our dog Gus. We have 2 adult children- a DD and a DS. I've struggled with weight gains since my early 20s and have tried multiple diets over the years. I've finally gotten the post menopause scale moving with the Mayo Clinic diet- I've lost 29.5 pounds since March. I've been in this group for 5 years and enjoy the support it provides. I enjoy reading and nature. For exercise I strength train, do step aerobics, indoor bike and a lot of walking.

@trooworld - DD loves her place and it is quite modern- she's my bougie one! Thank you for being an amazing team captain!

@laurelfit57 - that's cool that you can make the agility jumps yourself! I did not have any book ideas for what you like, but I will second in @trooworld in saying that I loved "None of this is True". I am trying hard to work on the worry thing- most of the time there's not a dang thing I can do and it just causes misery. DS may need to learn to change fuses and I'm sure that house has a few surprises to share yet….

@digger61 - glad to hear you are on the road to recovery- sounds like the road has been long for you

@Veta2018 - CONGRATS! You crushed it on the weight loss this week!

    @19shmoo69 - I eagerly await #2

@gemwolf110 - wishing you well on the new semester! Thank you for the cute inspirations that make me smile

@micaroo4 - Thank you for being an amazing team captain! July 2026 is not that far away- do you have any plans for when you retire?

@alimalli86 - How wonderful that your new grandson lives with you.

    Happy Monday!

    Lisa

    MY INTRODUCTION

Hi everyone. My name is Chris. I live in Southern California with my husband, cute one-eyed pirate pug named Daisy (9 yrs old) and pug pup name Violet who is 3 yrs old. Up until my mid-20s, I was a healthy weight but then the mid-20s hit and along with that came medications that made me gain weight as well as poor lifestyle choices. At my highest weight, I was 257 lbs. I had gastric bypass surgery on Dec 20, 2024 to save my life. I had to do something fast as I was losing my mobility. I haven’t had to use a cane (except at Comic-Con) since my surgery! I hope to get down to around 150 lbs, or whatever is healthy for me. That's about 30 more pounds. For exercise, I lift weights at the gym, walk with my husband at the zoo and other places, and most recently I started inline skating after 30 years! Up until my surgery, the arthritis in my knee limited me a lot. I am doing a lot better since surgery and a cortisone shot. My goal is to age gracefully and be able to get up off the floor if I fall. I want to remain independent as long and as much as possible. My husband and I love to cook, I've got 9,313 recipes saved but who's counting? LOL Seriously, I do and they are all organized, so if you need a recipe for ANYTHING, let me know! I've got everything from healthy foods to pet treats to recipes for cleaning supplies. My hobbies: reading, making artwork and crafts, photography, and cooking. I do straight-up calorie counting of healthy foods and tend to eat high protein/low carb.

Here are some pics for you…

Congrats to the WHOLE TEAM on achieving 1st place for week 4 and 1st place by pounds lost! A special shout-out goes to @Digger61 and @alimalli86 for leading the way (I am glad you are feeling better, Digger61!). An additional shout-out goes to @vegan4lyfe2012 @alimalli86 and @gemwolf110 for making it onto the leaderboard . Way to go!

    @txcritter69 @sleepygirl79 @Veta2018 Congrats on the losses !

@laurelfit57 Yes , it has taken me years to collect all of them and it is a LOT. If they weren't so organized, I would not be able to deal with them lol. Oh gosh, that's a lot of time to spend trying to figure out what to eat! Ah I see, I don't blame you for taking advantage of the light days then. Needle work is beautiful! I've never done that. I hope you get them finished. You are welcome! Yes, it was fun to do the mani pedi. Thank you, yeah, I need to do better with eating. The chili is one of my faves. I did have a busy day! Too bad about the ground beef. I hate when that happens. Comfort food is perfect for this time of year. Good luck with the agility jumps, that was a good idea to look on Pinterest!

@gemwolf110 I also love Snoopy . But I love Winnie the Pooh and his gang, too!

@Cornanda Oh I'm glad she loves it ! LOL Awww, you are welcome, my friend! Please give that cutey pie Gus a pet for me!

Hi all. The gym was not busy yesterday morning, which was nice. I only had to switch my routine up once yesterday. I came home from there and made my chili in the Instant Pot. It came out delicious. Later, we went for coffee and read, as planned. Today, we have a professional development day at work and I will be in workshops all day. I am not looking forward to it, I just want to do my work.

    Tracked yesterday? YES!

    MY INTRODUCTION

Hi all! Austin here. I live in Austin, Texas, with my husband, Eric, plus a small menagerie that includes indoor cats Piku and Habibi and 5 backyard chickens. My hobbies include managing a Scout troop's parent committee, working on a sci-fi/fantasy conference, and working on a science enrichment program for middle and high schoolers. The SF conference is a maybe going forward, as getting people to cough up receipts for the one that just happened is being painful.

My main physical activity is walking, but I have the aim of getting in more cycling this month. I need to go to San Antonio for a bike ride this week, actually, for the Scout troop. That will likely be on Tuesday. Mostly, this month, I just need to do MORE!

My weigh-in day is Monday. I was at 197.2 today, down from 206.4 at the start of August. I am headed in the right direction, but have been super busy the last month, and not as focused on fitness as I would like. And, yay, it's a new month!

Thanks for being here! I am looking forward to a great October!

Here are my two cats, Habibi and Piku watching "bird TV" on the cedar in front of my office window.

@Cornanda - I don't really have any big retirement plans. I'd like to travel, but not by myself. Rich is younger than me and not ready to retire. He keeps saying he will cut back on his hours, but then he changes the date. Now he's saying maybe in April. I'm nervous about retiring and losing my sense of purpose if I'm no longer part of the workforce. But I still want to retire. I hope that I figure out my next chapter by the time I get there.

    @trooworld - you look gorgeous!
