HOW IT ALL WORKS: The November challenge runs for four weeks, from November 2nd - November 29th.

Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win, and may everyone else get to work on next week!

We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every single week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leader board. In March we are aiming for every team to hit 50% green every week - let's do this!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you want a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or can be moved to the Support Team for as long as you need. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally. Don't worry! You can always come back even if you get dropped.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone. You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team.

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love Introduce or re-introduce yourselves right away, and let's get November on the road! 😎

Happy 1st November and to a new and improved version of our own beautiful self.

Im Lisa, been on MFP many years on and off. Lost the weight, gained it all back .

Hoping having a group to add my journey to will help me this time and that needing to check in each week will help.

I like you have 'to ask for a break' makes it (for me more accountable.)

    Captain @lauren_989

    Weigh In Day: saturdays

    PW (Previous Weight):October:26th weight:84.9kg .(187.1lbs

    CW (Current Weight):85.5kg (188.4lbs)

Ive had a week from work, so no routine and easy access to all foods.

    Back to it officially Monday.

    Everybody your weekend

    Welcome to November! 🍂

    I am Lauren, co-captain along with @ashleycarole86

I am 39 years old and from North Carolina, USA. I have been on a weight loss journey most of my adult life. I have done a lot of the yo-yo thing, losing a lot of weight in 2012 and then gaining it back. Over the last few years, I seem to be gaining and losing the same 10-15 pounds.

October was an interesting month, started off good, then life stressors hit and I ended up maintaining. I really want to be as close to my goal weight as possible for my 40th birthday next May. I have been slcaking on tracking which is my best way to hold myself accountable and at least see how much I'm eating. My goals for this month are to track every day (get back to it) and get 7,000 steps daily.

    Some helpful information/tools:

    Posting your daily updates

We know from experience that posting daily (or as often as you can!) makes a huge difference to your success. Use any format you like to let everyone know how you are doing on your daily goals and habits. You can report on food, exercise, water, sleep, or whatever you are tracking and trying to stick with. While you're there, talk about how you are, ask questions, and if you can answer someone else, please do! Congratulate others, commiserate, enjoy someone's rant, or go ahead and rant yourself. It all helps make the kind of community where we are in each others' heads when the hand is reaching for that off-plan snack, or the couch is feeling way too inviting...

    Weighing in

Please try to weigh in on time (but don't sweat it if you have to use a different day sometimes)! Put your weigh in at the TOP of a message, so it is clear and easy to find. If you cannot post your weight for whatever reason, you can request a week off, or if you need a longer break, you can be moved to the "Support Team" where you still participate but your weigh-ins will not be part of the weekly tally. This is where members who are ill, on vacation, or just needing a break can hang out for as long as needed.

    The F2F Habit Tracker

If you want a simple place to track your most important habits, give this a try:

    November Habit Tracker

So everyone, tell us a bit about you, your goals, what steps you are going to work on. It's fun to know your name and where you live (if you're willing to share that), what brought you here, how your weight loss journey has been, and where you are headed now. We all have information to share, things we can learn, and lean on each other as a team for a successful month!

Welcome to a November to remember where I can see us being winners again.

I live near the south coast in the UK. Hit 55 this year, after a few highs and lows with my weight this might be the last chance saloon to get into decent shape.

Running is my exercise of choice which is challenging in the current weather. Aiming for 54 miles running and 55 miles walking this month.

Welcome to the family @LisaMoxon155 . Bushy Park is lovely, the forgotten royal park of London unless you live there.

@Alatariel75 I'd give my right arm to weigh that little, I'd have to give a leg as well I think.

I have the solution to your wagon problem @strong_fit_ells , I ate 4 wagon wheels this week so my wagon has to be low and slow. Happy to take one for the team and eat another 4.

    20251101_160056.jpg

Started the week with a 5k at Parkrun. Hopeful for my Monday weigh in.

@TheMrWobbly thank you for the reminder that my "ugh" is someone else's yay! It's a good thing to keep in mind :) I need to focus on the fact that I have lost a LOT and have regained a LITTLE and that I have the power to take control again and get back on track.

Hello everyone! My name is Kristi and I'm 43. I live in Washington state in the US with my husband and 3 kids. We also have 3 dogs 4 guinea pigs and some ducks. I'm on the support team this month. I've been working with a weight loss coach for 6 months and lost 30lbs. I need a diet break so I will be slowly increasing my calories this month and most likely next month. I have new macros and calories to hit. I also have a new workout plan. I'm really excited for the calorie increase. I just finished a 6 week challenge. I was one of the top finishers and got some prize money!

@Alatariel75 Welcome back! I think a lot of us can relate to starting again. I know I can! Happy to have you back with us!

    @LisaMoxon155 Welcome to the team.

Thanks @conleywoods - congrats on the win!! Enjoy the diet break :)

Intro for me - I'm Al, I'm 46 and live in Australia. I lost around 92lbs/42kg between August 2024 and August 2025, and have since regained about 10lbs. I lost my husband in April this year, and have been struggling quite a bit finding my feet and my place in the world, to be honest. I'm currently taking some time away from work to figure out what I'm doing and intended to focus on wellness, and have somehow ended up not looking after myself very well at all!

But that stops now - I'm doing No-Vember. I'm saying No to things that drain my energy, and don't benefit me in positive ways. This includes drinking for anything other than social occasions, binge eating things that just make me sick and sad, and putting other people before myself and agreeing to do things that suck the life out of me for others' benefit.

So here I am, back again. Looking for support and some accountability :)

    Sending Support. And postive

I'll read the post to see what I need to do.

@TheMrWobbly yes bushy park is beautiful . We live in Somerset so took us a coupem of hours to her there so worth it . Normally we go to Somerset levels , 15mins drive from us

    @conleywoods thanks for the welcome.

So nice to see where everyone is from.

Apologies for everyone names not being highlighted like some are on here.im still figuring how the font etc works on this chat.

    @Alatariel75

Sorry font in bold. Didn't know how to change it.

I Have family members who are negative in my life so I keep in touch via whatsapp but rarely visit. Its a sad fact.

It's always 'oh I've forgotten who you are " "oh you never visit" ( well you never visit me!!!!) "Oh it's alright for because of, . ......this that and the other" took me a long time to realise this and the effect on my mental health.

I Love them dearly always will but some of the stuff that goes on Facebook is unbelievable. This is why I don't have Facebook I don't want to see what is put. Only reason I know is because I have a true friend who will tell me straight and has my back. And I get told by my family 'cant help how I feel' no but you can help by not putting on Facebook.

And yes i can have facebook but not add them but basically id rather not have that option because I wouldn't be able to help myself buy seeing what is said.

Anyway enough of my rant , my point im makinh us

Sometimes I think it has to be "Me ,myself and I"

    Happy November, Friends!

This is the first time I've put my re-introduction at the beginning of the thread.

My name is Yinka and I'm from Bewdley in Worcestershire, UK. I'm 62, married to Ben who just turned 60 on Halloween (yes, he's my toy boy!) We have an adult son who lives in Virginia, USA, with his wife. They were planning on visiting us for Christmas, but we've just found out that it won't be possible after all (boo!)

I work as a Digital Skills Tutor for my local council, delivering classes to the local community in a variety of different libraries. I am also a Creative Skills Tutor, and I create classes on how to make cushion covers, blinds and now, Christmas projects. And when I'm not doing that, I consult on AI.

I'm on MFP - and this group, specifically - because I really need the community support to help me reach my fitness goals. I have been slowly gaining weight and have decided that I have got to use all the skills at my disposal to halt the rise. I am 5 foot tall and there's really not anywhere for me to comfortably go! So I have to do this. Finally!

I have no problems with working out; I recently started following a chap on YouTube called Groove Club and try to do one of his dance workouts each week. I also do about 3 curated YouTube workouts each week. My go-to YT trainers are Heather Robertson and Caroline Girvan. This week, I will be starting Caroline's Advent Workout series. And walking - I need to do more of it. However, snacking is my kryptonite. And I need to drink more water. That's what I'm going to be focusing on this week.

@LisaMoxon155 I've never been to Bushey Park - even when I lived in London. It looks beautiful. I feel ashamed that you travelled all the way from Somerset to get there. We're definitely closer in Worcestershire! @Gidgitgoescrzy I meant to respond to you earlier, about the slow cooker recipe that I used, but my posts kept disappearing. So, I had a hissy fit and abandoned ship! Anyway, it was lamb that I cooked. Lamb pieces, potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, bell peppers, stock, cornflour and white wine. 8 hours and - bosh! - dinner is served. I have another slow cooker recipe planned for dinner this week - chicken with tarragon. @Alatariel75 Welcome back!

@YinxFed Welcome fellow MFP friend. You got this.

Yes Bushy park is beautiful. Although I forgot how busy it got in london🤪

    @gidgetgoescrzy

I have a beef slow cooker meal on at the moment. Lean steak, lots of veg.

I bulk cook, so two now for our tea and then two in the freezer. Easy, tasty and healthy.

Great for those busy days.throw in, turn on ,leave and then enjoy.

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to November! My name is Ashley and as of yesterday I am 39 years old @lauren_989 I see this means we were born in the same year!

I live in British Columbia, Canada with my lovely husband Brad, our Maltese Morgan, and three cats. We moved here in May.. I left my home in Alberta of 25 years, so needless to say lots of adjustment. We live in a beautiful place and this is where we'll eventually retire so it's great to be here early while we can still meet people at work and such.

Anyway, speaking of starting over… in 2021 I was at a similar weight to now and got focused and lost 120+ pounds and was in the healthy BMI range for my first time in adulthood. It was amazing and I felt great but unfortunately I have major issues with food, self-control, binging.. etc.. and here I am again. Honestly if I linger on the thought it makes me incredibly depressed but I'm here and hoping someday I find the motivation to do it again. I will say after going through the incredible hard work it took to lose 120 pounds and to gain it all back and think of having to do it again, well it's daunting to say the least.

I co-captain the team and run the step report so for anyone interested, post on Sunday your daily steps and exercise minutes from the week before (Sunday to Saturday) and I'll produce a report for those participating. I also need participants to give me their daily step goal as part of the stats. For those who participated in October, I'll automatically have you on November with the same goal unless you state otherwise.

Last week's steps (I had COVID last week so it was a light week):

    Oct 26 - 6684 steps
    Oct 27 - 6925 steps
Oct 28 - 976 steps (this was the day I stayed home sick)
    Oct 29 - 5457 steps
    Oct 30 - 5104 steps
    Oct 31 - 5785 steps
    Nov 1 - 3139 steps

@LisaMoxon155 thank you, it's been a really horrible time, and I honestly can't say whether or not I'm coming out of it any time soon, but I'm trying to be mindful and kind to myself. I am lucky that my family is generally lovely but they're just kind of useless haha. I've always been the family planner and organiser and do-er and I just don't have the energy, but they're all so used it it. There's actually a bit of shock that I don't plan to do anything to celebrate Christmas this year, I think everyone still expected me to. Facebook can be a blessing and a curse, these days it's all just advertising and scams anyway, it seems.

@ ashleycarole86 Happy birthday!!!! I feel you on the losing it then regaining, I did the same with the same amount and it always seems much harder to climb the same mountain the second time, there's so much more baggage I find, because I feel telling myself I shouldn't have to be doing it again. Very unheplful self talk!!
Can I please hop back into the step challenge for November?

I got up and went for a bushwalk with the pup this morning, before the rain set in (though I had my raincoat on anyway) and then came home and audited my spice cupboard so I'd have a list in my phone of what I have so I stop buying doubles, and will be able to check the list at the store and decide what I'm making. I'm a bit of a foody and… well, I have 107 different items in the spice cupboard. I have 11 different types of salt for goodness sake.

I have done Whole30 in the past with great success in working out food intolerances, and I'm not doing it this month, but I'm implementing a lot of the teachings from it - concentrating on whole foods, very meat and veg forward, no processed stuff, no alcohol.

Well, yesterday ended up being a write off in the end, pizza, wine and ice cream. I was doing all the right things, popped to the shop to get the missing ingredients for dinner and a lady ran a give way sign and crashed into me. She was apologetic and upset and I gave her a hug and we exchanged details, but it really deflated me - I feel like life just keeps kicking me at the moment. I have a feeling that the insurance company will write my car off because it's old, and the last thing I want is to have to shop for a new car - UGH.

Anyway, back at it today, if I keep letting these hiccups be excuses to treat myself badly, I'll be back where I started before I can blink.

So tonight I will have the chicken curry I was out to fetch ingredients for, and I've got the physio at 11:30 to get my back issue under control so I can get back to the gym.

    Happy November!

I'm Jackie, 35F, and I live in Michigan, USA. I'm married with 2 kids, a 4yo son and a 1.5yo daughter, and I also work part time as a mental health counselor. My kids keep me active, but my job typically involves a lot of sitting. I do have a few clients who enjoy walk and talk therapy, so when the weather allows I like to take advantage of this opportunity to move. It's been a little tricky lately convincing people to walk in the cold! I have been slacking some in the workout side of things, I want to get back to strength training.
I gained quite a bit of weight during my last pregnancy and while breastfeeding, and now that I'm done with that phase of life I'm ready to put my weight loss goals toward the top of my priority list.
I have PCOS which can make weight loss a bit tricky, but I have the tools I need to be successful. I resumed my weight loss journey in May 2025 and I've been making slow and steady progress ever since! I appreciate all of the support and encouragement this group provides, it really makes a difference in my motivation and staying accountable.

    My goals for November are:
•Stay in the green each week except maybe Thanksgiving week... we'll see
•Meet my step goal of 6000 at least 5 days/week
    •Stop eating Halloween candy 🤣
•Engage in physical activity 5 days per week, with 1-2 of those being strength training
