DISCUSSION QUESTION: If you could only choose one type of workout for the next month, what would it be and why? Bicycling, but it would have to be someplace warmer than here. I'm not an ice-cyclist. Runner up is walking, which is what I'll be doing daily. I also do a strength training workout every day. I would have a very hard time choosing only ONE type of workout. Thankfully, I don't have to choose!

    Good morning Slims,

    Congrats @Katmary71, @trooworld and @DrewsAnna WTG!

@DrewsAnna your day out looks like so much fun.

@19shmoo69  I love the picture of you and your wife.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: If you could only choose one type of workout for the next month, what would it be and why? Resistance Training. Since losing weight I have lost some muscle. Resistance training would help with that.

Not much going on today. Going to get some cleaning done in doors while waiting for my hubby to get my Christmas decor out of the attic. Going to buy a new tree this yr. I already found one I like.

We went yesterday to Home depot and bought a new washer and dryer set. That gets delivered Friday. I can't wait. The set I have now is ok, I am just ready for a new one. I have decided that instead of buying every thing as we remodel the house that I would start replacing as they are needed. I have replaced our stand up freezer, dishwasher and now the washer/dryer set. Next is the fridge then the stove. I will then have all new appliances.

    Have a blessed day!

Walking outside and Walk @ Home with the resistance bands.

    Hi 👋

I stayed quite busy yesterday and I got a lot accomplished. It felt good.

Today, im going to break out the old resistance bands and do a one mile workout with Leslie Sansone. That's only 15 minutes, so I should be able to do that. @txcritter69 I forgot about my resistance bands. That's been one of my favorites for a long time.

That's about all I have for now, y'all have a great day 😀

I really meant to check in a few weeks ago to be put on hold. My mom was in hospital for quite a while after her stroke and actually just got out last week. She has been quite agitated unless I am there, so most days are spent with her. I am afraid that that is all I have the bandwidth to deal with right now. I haven't even been to the gym in ages! I'm not used to being this inactive or eating only hospital/ food. I think about the only things that fit me right leggings.
Now that mom is home, I am hoping to be able to wean myself away from her a bit anyway over the next few weeks.

I will be back, really miss catching up with all of you!

I won first place in the contest. I made some slight changes. I went for a really nice Bike ride yesterday. I heard it's going to rain for a few days. I tackled the Cypress bush this weekend; it looks so much better. My green waste can is full again. Tomorrow I will go and see if there are any ripe pomegranates ready on the tree. I just stocked up on Apple Pears, I like to eat them with Mango Jam. Mango Jam tastes like Honey Jam; there's no Mango flavor. It adds just the right amount of sweetness to the Apple Pears.

@txcritter69 Good luck with decorating . How exciting to get new appliances!

@laurelfit57 I was just thinking about you . I'm glad you checked in. I'm sorry about your mom's health. I can imagine it is important to be there with her. Hugs.

@FushiaKat Congrats on your contest win !

Hi all. I just tried to focus on getting my work done, and I got through the day. Today will be a little tougher: we have a patron coming to the library to do some research, who we've had visit before, and they are difficult to deal with. They are going to be coming every day for the next 10 days. I do not look forward to it. I've been tracking now for 73 days.

    Water intake yesterday: 32 oz

@laurelfit57 Being stuck in a hospital is the worst, and I know how draining it has been for you, but you are such a good daughter to your mom. I hope that now that she is home, you can turn some of your attention to your own self-care. ♥️

@trooworld I hope the patron isn’t too difficult for you. Never fun when our work routines get messed with. Great job on tracking for 73 days!! 😎

Good morning! Well, I must admit that I forgot to weigh in, so I just kept my weight the same as last week, even though I’m sure I had a gain again. 🙄 I was sick most of the day yesterday from some kind of stomach thing, and I felt extremely exhausted. I took a nap and went to bed at 8 pm, and slept for 11 hours. I’m better today, which is good because later I need to go to the church to decorate for our Thanksgiving potluck on Sunday. OK, the landscapers are here and my dog won’t shut up so I’m off to workout and lock her in the bedroom with me. Have a good day! 😊

    Hi 👋

I lost one tenth of a lb. Lol… I'll take it though 😀

I am still having trouble with my fiber intake. Do any of you use a fiber supplement? If so, what do you use? I looked at the nutrition label on the metamucil and there's only 3 grams of fiber in it. It also sas to use it up to 3 times per day. Im just started on Sunday, so I've only been using it once a day.

My Protein intake has also dropped, but I know how to fix that.

I didn't do a workout yesterday, but I did stay busy. I went shopping and used the grocery bags as weights, (after they had groceries in them), lol… hubby looked at me like I was crazy. I am mostly scared because my knee will hurt a lot later, and the cold weather is already taking a toll on my knees.

That's about all I have for now, y'all have a great day 😀

@TeresaW2024 Thanks , I'm sure she is going to be difficult. She thinks the rules don't apply to her and she gets testy when you lay down the law. I don't look forward to dealing with her. Thank you! I'm sorry you were sick, I hope you are feeling better now. Being exhausted doesn't help. 11 hours! It sounds like you really needed the rest. Oh, I'm glad you are better now.

@DrewsAnna I used to use Metamucil , it's tasteless and I put it in my coffee in the morning. I don't use it anymore, I don't need it, but I wouldn't hesitate to use it again. I know 3 grams doesn't sound like much but it made a difference as far as going to the bathroom...I don't know if that is why you are using it, though.

Hi all. My depression lessened on Tuesday, but came back yesterday. I still have it full force today, so I am going to be gentle to myself. I have to deal with the difficult researcher today, and I am not looking forward to it. I remembered why I don't like her so much: she tries to skirt the rules, bend them, ignore them, and it forces us to be heavy-handed with them. I do not like to do that. At least today is Thursday, and I work from home tomorrow. I woke up at 3 am due to the dogs getting in a fight. I just got up rather than trying to go back to bed for an hour.

    Water intake yesterday: 40 oz

Wow it's quiet in here. Happy Friday!

Been a loooooooooooong week at work and I'm so glad it's Friday. Not much on the agenda for the weekend except an eye exam and some household tasks to complete. Our weather is still cool, but has warmed up from the freeze and I'm glad about that.

Well, this exciting post should definitely liven things up in here. You're welcome!

@bobboyardee - We played Wits and Wagers, and Nertz. I like your DJ dancing idea. I looked up your Resistance game and it sounds interesting, but I am terrible at bluffing. I like dancing too. I'm terrible at it, but it makes me feel good

@bobboyardee Oh gosh , I don't remember what you are referring to lol. I hope it's a fancy coffee making machine, or perhaps a money printing machine? LOL That's what I do, too, the typing in a Notepad window, that way I can't accidentally lose what I am typing and I remember what people are talking about (most of the time lol). I love dancing, too, but only after I've had a few drinks in me lol. Yay for day 2!

@Cornanda Congrats on the loss , you are doing so well, Lisa! It has been quiet here. I'm with you on the long week and glad for it being Friday. I hope you enjoy your quiet weekend.

Hi all. Well, working with the researcher was as challenging as I anticipated. I have to deal with her next week as well, and am not looking forward to it. At least the day went by quickly. I am in a better mood this morning since I work from home. It's supposed to rain starting today and last all weekend. I like the rain, but we have plans on Saturday which we may end up canceling. I had leftover macaroni and cheese for dinner (my husband made it the other day and it was delicious!). I lost 2 ounces this week, so basically maintained.

    @bobboyardee Hi! 😁

@Cornanda Thanks for doing your part to keep this group lively! 😍

@trooworld Sorry, you have to work with that difficult researcher for another week. I love macaroni and cheese! 😋

Good morning! Not much is going on here at the moment. I’ve been working on graphics for the church Christmas season and next year’s church calendar. Other than that, I’ve been feeling really blah, which I know is to be expected. It’s just so weird to be by myself with no sense of purpose or desire even to have a purpose. I often have this out-of-body feeling where part of me goes through the day like normal, while the other part stands here, wondering what the hell happened and where I am going. I’ve been praying about it all and trusting that God will lead me in a direction at some point. But until that happens, I'm off to make my muscles cry. Have a good day!

Good morning, yesterday was an interesting day. Took the day off so I could drive my family to the epilepsy clinic. It’s about 2.5 hours one way. This doctor said his goal is to get my son seizure free but it may take a while. The test results show the disruptions are all over the place and they happen quite often. Basically no way to in point a trigger. He’s going to add meds and ween off meds. The whole process is going to take several months. My wife is struggling with this.

@Veta2018 I would absolutely love to come to your dance party 😃💃 Lady Gaga is so much fun to dance to.

@bobboyardee it is pretty wild, I'm not in the jeep when they are climbing the rocks. Lol… I'm scared!! Just being in the trails is scary enough for me. Lol…

    Hi 👋

Yesterday was a very productive day. I assembled a storage dresser type deal for my yarn. I'm trying to get this particular room ready for sewing. Today my goal is to clean out a different dresser, that's already in the room to be able to use it for storage also. That room has been a "kid" room for so long, but the kids are almost all teenagers and they don't come over much anymore. So, it's becoming a craft room. I'm going to put a couple of plants in there after I get it done.

I had tacos for dinner, I only had 2 very basic tacos with just meat, lettuce tomatoes and cheese, but they put me way over on my calorie budget. Today, I'm making some 15 bean soup, that won't be as high calorie meal. For 2 days in row I have almost hit my fiber goal. Yay me!!

    Y'all have a great day 😀

@TeresaW2024 - you have been in caregiver mode for so long, now you don't remember how to just be. A human being, not a human doing. Lower your expectations. Slowing down is a way to nourish yourself, not a sign of weakness. Just sit with the stillness. It can be deeply healing. (((Hugs)))

@micaroo4 Your snack balls sound delicious !

@trooworld and @DrewsAnna great job leading the pack ! Thank you for the kudos!

@trooworld I ’m glad you’re getting to that machine before the mean guy! All this artist time sounds awesome love it. Oh no I hope the researcher you’ll be dealing with isn’t too big of a hassle! I hope you won’t have to cancel your weekend plans because of the rain. Glad you didn’t have to be at work with the PITA!

@Veta2018 Your first snowy day is sure beautiful !

I love old Lady Gaga going to attach a mix I work out to of her older stuff for you ! I want to come to the Dance Party too!

@DrewsAnna that looks like some wild driving on the trail in the Jeeps ! Looks like a beautiful spot.

@19shmoo69 Great photo of you and your beautiful wife at the festival ! Your poor son I hope the med changes help.

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE TYPE OF WORKOUT FOR THE NEXT MONTH, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY? If it’s what I want it would be biking or dancing but because of my pain/mobility issues it’s stretching and weights so I can walk and move as well as possible (I know it’s two but I seriously need both so my legs hold me up and I’m not doubled over from muscle tightness). We had a big storm yesterday and I didn’t sleep for a couple nights prior from pain and even after an hour of stretching this morning I’m still real tight. Weight lifting does give a lot of confidence too as well as being so good for us, I love how it’s the leading choice so far.

@TeresaW2024 Yikes that ’s super cold already! Definitely talk to your sister about food hopefully you two can help each other. Crush that workout! Big hugs to you. I was thinking like @micaroo4 the last couple years have been so busy with Joe ’s health issues that you really didn’t have time to process it all, I hink praying is the perfect thing to do right now and give yourself grace.

@ txcritter69 Buying appliances as needed is smart , hope you love the new washer and dryer.

@laurelfit57 Thank goodness for leggings right ? I’m in the same boat right now. I’m so sorry to hear your mom was in the hospital that long. I hope you’re able to focus on yourself a bit more now too. Your mom’s lucky to have you.

@FushiaKat Congratulations on winning first place ! Are apple pears Asian pears?

@bobboyardee Yes the text document makes responding so much easier !

@Cornanda I hope you get the chance to relax this weekend around the chores and exam.

Hi friends! Been getting my fall/winter garden in and been at the farm and community garden a lot. Have some relatives in town I took to the functional medicine practitioner yesterday to learn more about micro current and we went out to a Mexican restaurant for lunch (all the chips are reflected in my weigh in this morning!). I'm down to one kitten I've decided to adopt tomorrow who will ironically be my 13th kitten to get adopted and she's a beautiful black kitty. She gets along great with my cats WITHOUT all the dominance stuff going on like with my boy kitten I almost kept. I'm going to take a short break from fostering and I'm really excited about not having to be at adoptions every Saturday as the length and whole thing's way too much for me but I felt I was the best person to tell people about my kittens so I've been toughing it out and have been exhausted every weekend for months now. I like going to gardening events on Saturdays and hitting farmer's markets and haven't been able to for quite awhile.Have a great weekend!
