    Good morning Slims,

Congrats to @vegan4lyfe2012 @19shmoo69 and @Veta2018 for making the leaderboard , and to @Cornanda for honorable mentions.

@Cornanda That is awesome about the clothes . When it comes to doing crafts I do a little with different things. I make my own wreaths for holidays. I also make some of my own decor that is displayed about my house during Christmas. I also redo furniture. I took armoire and turned it into a coffee bar. I have used pallets to make shelves and old fence panels to make welcome signs, blanket ladders and other home decor. Dinner went great with my friends. I am looking forward to the next.

@trooworld Thank you , I hope so too. Sounds like you are having a relaxing time. Sometimes we just need to relax. Awesome on fitting into those jeans.

@DrewsAnna That is great that they won their game . I sorry about your friend's dad, but glad you were able to stay in control around all the food.

@Veta2018 that is awful what they did to your uncle . Sorry about the dentist. I have to have one pulled but holding out until after the holidays.ย

Yesterday was a lay on the couch day. So for this week I am going to make myself walk every morning with Diesel and continue with cleaning and decorating the house.ย

    Have a blessed day

    Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

Yesterday was a lazy football day. Seahawks lost ๐Ÿ˜ข but that is okay.

I did good with my protein and fiber. Fiber is so hard, but I had beans for dinner, so that helped.

SSince I was gone all day the other day, I didn't get anything done in the spare room. My goal for today is to clean out the dresser and throw out the old coloring books.

    Y'all have a great day ๐Ÿ˜€

Yikes. That was a wakeup call this morning. I had a decent week, and then blew it over the weekend. I console myself with the fact that some of it was likely water weight from the delicious but salty TYex Mex dinner we had on Sunday night. We took our son to the best Tex Mex place in Austin, which is saying something! Worth it, but I can't keep that up!

I did some things about turning this around today, including check in here, making some good food choices (a collard greens, bluerberry and prtotein smoothie, yum!) and an evening walk outdoors.

    Tuesday Plans:

    • Morning calisthenics
    • Morning walk (I called a friend and we are going for a good long one)
    • Log my food
    • Food on plan

I will chekc in and say how I did. :-)

@DrewsAnna - You have all my sympathy re. the Seahawks. My team is the Longhorns, and they lost. Still love 'em. I hope the decluttering went well!

@Veta2018 - "The past couple of weeks have been crazy. I've been traveling over an hour south of my home to help with my 71 year old uncle. I can't believe after being in the hospital for 6 weeks, they would just drop him off in front of his apartment." That's terrible and crazy, How great of you to jump in. Your gransdon is super cute! ๐Ÿ™‚

@trooworld - "Reasons not to weaiut until Januaryโ€ฆ" Oooh, I feel seen! And what a great list! An d yes, I checked in today with my up, and promise to keep it up. Even when the number's not good news and I want to move to another state after looking at it on the scale.

@TeresaW2024 HAHAHA ! You must have had a really good workout, good job! Oh gosh, I'm sorry you got stuck at the old lady table. I'm glad you didn't overeat. The recipe is really good, I think you will like it! https://pinchofyum.com/sheet-pan-jambalaya

@txcritter69 Congrats on the loss ! Thanks, yes, I am enjoying my weekends very much. Makes me wish I could retire! I hope you and Diesel enjoy the walks.

@bobboyardee Good job checking in . Congrats on the loss!

@AustinRuadhain Sorry about your weekend overindulgence . You have a good plan for today. I'm glad the post was inspirational. You got this!

Hi all. I had a decent day at work yesterday: I got a break from the researcher/didn't even have to say hello to her as other people helped them. I dealt a lot with our students: it was graduation day for some of them, and they were coming by the library to say goodbye. One gave us thank you cards with pins she made; it was very nice. I was very snacky yesterday. I don't know why; maybe out of stress from anticipating that I'd have to help the researcher. I made a viral recipe last night: chicken cobbler made with Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuit mix, mixed veggies, and rotisserie chicken. It was very easy to make but took about an hour to bake. I was too hungry to wait for it to be done, so I ate leftover jambalaya for dinner. I will take some of the cobbler for lunch today.

    Water intake yesterday: 24 oz

@trooworld Thanks for the recipe! I will definitely be making it! I glad your day at work went better and you didnโ€™t have to see the dreaded researcher. Yum for chicken cobbler!!ย ๐Ÿ˜

Good morning! Today, Maggie is going to the groomer, and I need to go to Walmart for some food. My food has been so horrible lately, and the scale keeps going up and up and up! My sister and I are going to start planning our dinners and stop the mindless crap eating we have been doing for months. Joe has been gone for two months today, which is crazy to me. I know he would expect me to take care of my health, and right now Iโ€™m just not, and it has to stop. OK, off to workout! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

I got quite a bit done yesterday. Now, I have work to do in the other spare room in order to finish the craft room. Lolโ€ฆ it's starting to feel really good.

I'm not doing very good with "actual" exercise, but I have been staying busy, and moving more. I know that is an excuse, and I need to stop procrastinating.

I bought a book, "A Year in the Bible" it's a women's Bible study book, to help understand what your reading in the Bible. I can read it all day long, but it doesn't do much good if I don't understand what I'm reading. A good time to do that is when I do my journaling, however, I haven't been very good at that lately either, but I feel like I need to get back in touch with my spiritual side.

I'm not feeling really good about my weigh in tomorrow, but we'll see how it goes.

    Y'all have a great day ๐Ÿ˜€

Yay I won First Place in the Halloween Contest. We settled our Small Claims court case out of Court and got everything we asked for, I'm filling for the dismissal today. I admit it was a bit stressful, but we got it worked out, and it was worth it. On Monday they will come and pick up the Trike. I'll be glad to have my parking space back.

@Katmary71 Congrats on the new kitten, and I'm glad to hear she gets along with your crew. Apple Pears are Asian Pears. I like to eat mine with Mango Jam.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: How do you celebrate your progress without using food as a reward? I've been maintaining for years now, so I don't have a lot of progress or celebrations. BUT when I was working hard at losing weight, seeing the losses was reward enough. I charted my progress on a graph, and that graph was my reward. When I first started losing weight, I devised a list of rewards to give myself along the way, but the rewards just didn't mean that much to me. I was so excited to see a loss every week. Even when I hit a plateau, that just doubled my determination and I kept working hard. I'll tell you a little secret. I used to look for teammates who were about the same weight as me, and "compete" to lose weight faster than them. And I look for a teammate or 2 who was 10 pounds less than me, and I would monitor my progress to see if I could catch them or maybe pass them on the way down the scale. I also used to give myself holiday deadlines. If I was trying to lose weight right now, I would have made a personal challenge to lose 5 pounds between Halloween and Thanksgiving. And then I'd make a new challenge to lose another 5 pounds between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Those were my celebrations. No food. No actual "thing" as a reward. Just an accomplishment, a mark on the graph, a star on the calendar.

@micaroo4 - Ah, I had forgotten about that. I knew you were wearing glucometers, but I blocked out the diabetes. Great work on the recipes! Your competition trick is genius!

@DrewsAnna - Super cute football team and good luck on the big sewing project!

@Veta2018 - Yikes- you've been busy and not the good kind of busy. I hope you are feeling better after your dental issues

@trooworld - glad you got a break from the researcher and how nice that students are stopping by. Planning meals is tricky- like when you are starving and it has to bake a long time- ๐Ÿ˜“ Overall, still worth it though, you have the leftovers

@txcritter69 - that sounds like some neat stuff you make. I have a friend who revamps furniture and I'm amazed at the transformations she comes up with. I bet yours are great- you sound very talented.

@bobboyardee - good to see you got that streak going again. How long does the streak have to be before you post naked Bart Simpson again? That's the reward I want to see. Beginning of a new era? Are you a Swiftie?!

@AustinRuadhain - good to see you in here- you've been missed

@TeresaW2024 - Hope you got some healthy food at Walmart and that you and your sister can come up with a good plan. I can't believe Joe has been gone 2 months already

@FushiaKat - glad you got the trike issue settled and Congrats! on the contest win

It's Wednesday! It already seems like a long work week. I'm really looking forward to extra days off next week!

Question-Celebrating Progress without food as a reward: For now, my desire for food rewards has decreased. How do I keep it from coming back? That is my question!

@TeresaW2024 You are welcome ! Ugh, me too. That's a good idea to plan your dinners. I think you are right: Joe would want you to take better care of yourself...go plan those meals!

    @bobboyardee That's a good insight .

@FushiaKat Congrats on your contest win and the settlement .

@Cornanda Me , too! Yesterday, I was not so lucky lol. Yes, that is the worst when you are starving and it won't be ready for a long time. Ugh. True, I have leftovers! Are you off all week next week? I am off Weds-Fri.

DISCUSSION QUESTION: How do you celebrate your progress without using food as a reward? I treat myself to a new pair of pants, or other clothing item. I need new clothes, so why not?

Hi all. Yesterday was okay. I had to deal with the researcher but they weren't as annoying as they had been. Just two more days of dealing with them. I woke up with a headache: I think it's from the weather...it's been drizzly and dreary. It's not really supposed to rain today, but tomorrow and Friday, there are chances of rain.

    Water intake yesterday: 48 oz

@DrewsAnna There is nothing better than a good study Bible! Iโ€™m trying to be more consistent with my Bible reading, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

@FushiaKat Congrats on the contest win and the court case win. That is awesome!ย

@micaroo4 I LOVE your answer to how you celebrate progress! And the competition you set up for yourself against your teammates was brilliant. You are such a great inspiration.ย

@trooworld I hope your headache doesnโ€™t turn into a migraine. Yay for only two days left with the researcher! ๐Ÿ™‚

Good morning! Ugh, to another gain, but at least it wasnโ€™t as high as it was earlier in the week. Iโ€™m trying! ๐Ÿ™„ My sister and I decided we are going to return to TOPS in January. The old ladies in the group wonโ€™t be very motivating, but I think just doing the weekly weigh-ins will help us both a lot. Plus, it will be good to get out of the house and spend time with some sweet friends once a week. Today, Iโ€™m going to TJ Maxx to shop for new toys for Maggie. All her stuffed animals are gross and mostly shredded. She needs some new stuffed animals to destroy. ๐Ÿ˜€

    Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹

@bobboyardee Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š I hadn't thought about consistency, I've only thought about not making my goals.

It was a nice day outside yesterday instead of pouring down rain, so I got outside and cleaned up Chippers bathroom. He was smiling the whole time, so I think he appreciated having a clean yard. After that, I was pretty chilly, so I came back inside. I was going to do some work in the spare rooms, but I wound up cleaning my closet, thoroughly. I went through all my clothes and packed up 2 garbage bags of stuff I don't wear or are to big. I gave it a thorough dusting and vacuuming.

Now, I need to go through my dresser and work in the spare rooms. Lolโ€ฆ it never ends ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

No loss, no gain this week, I probably shouldn't have made chicken enchiladas last night. They were so good though ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

I did great with my protein and, as usual, bad with my fiber. I need to eat some veggies and fruits, that would really help.

I need to start doing my journaling earlier because I've been really tired and just going to sleep.

I need to go take a shower, hubby and I are going to get our enhanced ID's today. I have to fix my hair, and put my eyes on.

    Y'all have a great day ๐Ÿ˜€

    Hi Slimisters!

Tuesday food was good (not great) and I got in over 1 1/2 hours of walking with my friend. I spent over 2 hours walking since I walked to and from the park. I also managed to get good sleep despite needing to get up early to take my kiddo to the airport this morning (super fun! we had coffeee and chatted on the way).

Today's exercise was bicycling. I got a bicycle for my birthday and am loving it. It was a present from my husband. I went out on a 10 mile ride this morning, and spotted a great blue heron on the side of the trail. It looked to be 3-4 feet tall, and was a great beauty. I need a better camera or I need to work on my picture taking skills, as this was the best of the pictures. They stand very still.

Tonight I am off to see the Univ of Texas women's basketball team play. This should be inspiring!

@TeresaW2024 Thank you . It's still there but is just a headache. Hang in there and do what you need to do, that number will come down. I hope TOPS helps. That's good you are going to TJ Maxx for Maggie...Violet immediately destroys her toys and then walks around with stuffing sticking out of her mouth lol.

@AustinRuadhain Good job with all the exercise ! Happy belated birthday. What a nice gift! Cool pic, thanks for sharing. I hope you enjoyed the basketball.

Hi all. It's supposed to rain today, which is sort of bad because I have a dental appointment later and need to be there on time. Hopefully, I can beat the rain. It's just a cleaning appointment. Today is the last day I have to deal with the researcher. Yesterday, we were short-staffed staffed and the three of us were running around like crazy people trying to keep the library running smoothly. Today should be a bit better, as nobody will be out. I made a salad last night for dinner that was really good: it had lettuce, goat cheese, pomegranate seeds, walnuts, pears, and air-fried Cajun shrimp on it with a white balsamic vinaigrette dressing.

    Good morning Slims,

@AustinRuadhain Yes Tex Mex is your culprit . I always weigh more the day after. Lots of water the next day helps flush the salt.ย

@trooworld The walks with Diesel did not happen . He somehow hurt his left hind paw. So he has been on no intense activity the last 3 days. Now we have the weather to deal with as well. so no outdoor activity for either of us.ย

@TeresaW2024 Don't be hard on yourself . Putting healthy food and planning meals is a great start to getting back on track. Yes, Joe would want you to take care of yourself and you will. But there will be bad days. Forgive yourself on those days. What is TOPS?

@DrewsAnna That's great that you got some deep decluttering done. Any movement is good. Staying active is the goal. Consistency is key. You are doing great with checking in and being honest with each task. I like your idea about the Bible.ย

@bobboyardee you are probably right . We snack at night to stay awake.

@FushiaKat That is wonderful about winning first place in the contest and settling out of court with that company . I am glad that stress is off your back

@micaroo4 I like your ideas for weight loss . I kinda do the same lately. Seeing others losing I try to stay ahead of them in losing.ย

@Cornanda Thank you . I wouldn't say talented just crafty. I would not try to sell any of what I make. I just don't see paying crazy prices for things I can make or repurpose.ย

As said above I did not follow through with walking this week and I have not hit my step goal but once which was Monday. I have been staying up late and sleeping in. but that is now the new focus. I made myself stay up real late Tuesday night (3 am) and got up around 8 am. Went to bed last night at 10 and up at 5 am. I want to get back into my old habit of being a morning person. I felt more productive. It is now 6:40 so off I go to find something to do.ย

DISCUSSION QUESTION: How do you celebrate your progress without using food as a reward? I buy a new outfit. I am in need of new clothes so going shopping for a new outfit is such a great feeling.

    Have a blessed Day
