Hi all,
I started MFP a week ago thrusday and have been hooked ever since. My goal it to become more healthy and loose over 100 pounds at a rate of 1 pound a week. This tool is so easy to use I lost 5 Ibs/7 days. I "shopped"for a group & ecided to join tis one b/c I seem to fit the collective profile.
-I am happily married to a very loving, supportive man who accepts me for who I am.
-Mother of one little girl who is now in Kindergarten
-Our ranch style home (in North LIberty, Iowa) is in an active neighborhood and the place we most enjoy as a family.
-Enjoy a rewarding nursing carrer.
-I am very active for a 300 Ib woman

Sooooooo. Why do I insist on carring an extra 130 pounds around?

Reasons to loose:
*Joint pain
*Sleep Apnea/Snoring
*Hypertension/Prediabetes
*Role modeling for my daughter
*Career as a Public Health Nurse
*Easier travel on airplanes
*Life is too short to dream about my best life
*Less anxiety---feel more in control of my life
*Hike in mountains
*Join bike club, play volleyball again, have energy again!!!
*Swim with Olivia
*Love myself

Feel the same way you do I have just as much weight to lose hopefully together we will be able to keep ourselves on track with the group.
  • Hope your saturday is going well. I have used 1/2 of my calories and it is mid-day. I have been truely hungary this past couple days....stomach groweling and everything! I have managed to stay within my range. Today I am taking care of 4 nieghborhood kids and my own. All great kids but I am already pooped! There has to be some way to count the extra calories I have burned.

Do you ever have trouble with true hungar? I am going to try to drink lots of water/liquids to see if I can confuse the stomach noise.

Count me in on this group. I am a young hearted 63 y.o. but have osteoarthritis in my knee so exercising is a challenge at the moment. Hoping going to the doctor Nov 30th will improve that.. Will be supportive and look forward to making new friends.

:flowerforyou: Welcome Patti, we are all here to make it work so as they say, come on down and join the crew. I get it about the knee, mine is better now but went through some troubles several years ago. Try some upper body strength training to tide you over, you can even do that in a chair
