Lets get REALLY primal now...

Watched I, Caveman yesterday and Robb Wolf's OUTSTANDING take down of a full grown elk with an atlatl!! WOW!!! Just for that Rob, I am buying your book :)

That was IMPRESSIVE!

I am so glad the paleo guy took out the elk, and the Morgan Spurlock carb loving guy that couldn't even survive 30 days at McDonald's was continually outsmarted by a muskrat.

Has anyone ever killed their own food? And carrots do not count!

The following here:

-Fish
-Rabbit with gun and trap
-Squirrel with trap
-Duck
-Goose
-Partridge

I have assisted with kills but was not the prime for

-Deer
-Moose
-Bear

I have also killed a full sized pig for a pig roast. Surprisingly this is the only one that actually bothered me... I guess in nature, the animal has a chance, but the pig, it was just a slaughter.

my father hunted deer, my self not done any hunting aside from a raccoon and old family friend lived next to an orange grove, and the owner woudl keep him suplied with oranges in return for him taking his hounds in after the raccoons (they eat the oranges) and take his pit after the wild boars when they got in there (they went after the pickers)

did raise game hens for food, killed them.

My dad used to take me hunting with him when I was very little, but I couldn't keep up, so he was constantly frustrated with me. I don't have nice memories of hunting. It's not fun getting left behind in the woods.

The only food I have ever killed has been fish. About a month or two ago my wife and I were talking about learning to hunt though. We would bow hunt since gun season is only 1 week long, and bow season is like, 4 months or something I believe (for deer). We wouldn't be able to hunt this season anyways since getting set up isn't cheap, and we would have to become decent archers first. I have wanted to become more self sufficient for my food for a while now, and look forward to being self reliant for my meals one day.

I helped slaughter 250 chickens once.. by helped I mean I saw one chicken being killed and then ran into the house to help wrap them for the freezer.. does that count??
My husband has hunted deer and rabbit and a ton of fish.

I have killed many a lobster, clam and oyster! Other than that, it's not really my thing.

I couldn't eat chicken for 6 months lol very very glad I don't have to go kill my dinner or I'd probably be a vegeterian.

I have fished and cleaned the catch...and cooked it up in butter! I've helped with cutting up two deer that have come my way. I would like to go hunting, and possibly take up fishing more seriously. I haven't yet figured out how to go about doing that since I have no gear, no skillz, and only a teeny clue! :)

I used to hunt on a regular basis when I was younger... As a married adult with three kids, living in the suburbs, formerly living a SAD diet and lifestyle, I have drifted away from those hunting roots and plan on getting back to them next season. Previously, and plan to again very soon, I have hunted, killed, cleaned, and eaten freshly caught/killed:

Various species of Fish, Dear, Turkey, Chicken, Rabbit, Squirrel, Quail, Pheasant, Chukar... I think that's it. haha
